“Absolutely delicious breakfast. Everything is always so fresh and they take card now :D”
“Delightful little cafe and tea for only £1.50!”
“Recently stayed here for a weekend celebration. There were 9 of us in total. The hotel was in a great location. Extremely clean. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The staff were incredible. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. Thank you so much.”
“Not my usual choice but not fussy either so decided to give it a go last minute. Service was outstanding. In particular (didn’t get his name) but the duty manager, tall guy with glasses. His good morning made us feel welcome immediately, he was attentive and really friendly. Service makes the experience for me, food was cheap and cheerful, nothing to write home about but hit the spot for the price. Will definitely consider going again, because of the service.”
“Nice beautiful Italian restaurant, Great atmosphere and amazing real Italian pizza made it at Napoli's style. The Pasta is very tasty and very good too!!! To finish with a delicious dessert , my favourite was the warm croissant. All followed by a superb service.”
“My mum and I have wanted to visit this restaurant for a while and we are so glad we did! The staff were lovely and the decor was great. We shared the pizza parma, a mixed salad, and garlic mushrooms and all was amazing! We will definitely be returning.”
“There's a reason people queue here for a sandwich, snack or coffee. Best place we found for our packed lunches when exploring the area. Great selection and choice, friendly service and reasonable prices too.”
“Modest café situated right on Barry Island seafront. I wasn't expecting much in the way of either quality or value. However I was very pleasantly surprised when my lunch arrived, to receive a generous slice of steak and ale pie which was absolutely packed with filling, a decent pile of nicely-cooked chips and peas, all served piping hot on a hot plate, just as it should be! It was also very nice that the gravy came separately in a jug with a lid, to keep the contents hot... brilliant! The staff were clearly working hard during lunch service and yet still managed a smile and to exchange pleasantries. I'll definitely be back, next time I'm in town. Thank you and keep up the great work!”
“I came all the way from Manchester for my hair transplant with Dr. Ted Miln and needed a place to stay nearby. I was tired from the journey, so this place was absolutely perfect. The clinic recommended it, and it turned out to be one of the best places I’ve stayed in. Getting in and out was super simple and convenient with the passcode they sent. I was gutted to miss out on the restaurant since it was closed on Monday and Tuesday, but I’ll definitely try to dine in next time I visit when it’s open. The room had everything I needed — very comfortable, with great showers, and I really loved the interior. It was exactly what I needed to rest and recover after the procedure. The location is ideal too: just a 5-minute walk to the Co-op and a 5-minute drive to the clinic. I could see my car from my room, and the place felt safe and secure. Overall, one of the best places I’ve stayed in. Highly recommend!”
“A very nice vegan/vegetarian cafe, the food was lovely and well presented with beautiful fresh ingredients. Lovely staff. The residential Tom cat is very precious over its domain and has no fear of having a go at your dog. Staff quickly got him inside with a bribe so calm could be restored. A lovely little place for a coffee and bite to eat.”
“I was extremely satisfied with my whole experience of dealing with PW Millar Ltd for the purchase of my new car. Living over 90 minutes away from the dealership, I really appreciated being kept updated with the buying and Part Ex process from start to finish. I am absolutely delighted with my new car and the excellent, friendly service that I received.”
“This place is great! Passed it at lunchtime on the way back from the Barry recycling centre. Friendly staff, good menu, good value, clean and most importantly, very tasty food! Even little things like having bamboo cups instead of plastic was a nice touch.”
“Came to Barry for some breakfast before heading off to the beach. I had the eggs Benedict with bacon. Have to say, probably the best eggs I’ve ever had. Both were super gooey and delicious, you can tell they source them fresh. Pleased to see that they source locally when they can! My friends had the veggie breakfast and she was amazed at the value for money - they really fill up your plate . Our servers were attentive and helpful and the food came out in no time. Would recommend”
“this was a lovely place to stay in barry island. it’s in a convenient location right next to the train station and not far from the beach. the rooms were lovely and clean and accommodating with a tv with ITVX so we could tuck in and watch love island without any ads, which ended our night perfectly. the beds were super comfy it felt like i was sleeping on a cloud. the next morning we were greeted by Lyndon who made an excellent breakfast (all included in the price) and was very welcoming throughout our stay. we would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting barry island due to its convenient location and the b&b’s amazing hospitality. we will be sure to stay here again if we’re ever in barry island.”
“Went for breakfast this morning at 9.30am and I was so impressed! The food was delicious and good value for the quality they are offering. The lady who served us was so welcoming and helpful. We had children with us and she was really good with them and tailored our order. The mystery to me is why it was quiet. There was one other table occupied when we we there and as we left at 11am another table was being taken. The Gallery is clearly Barry’s best kept secret and really deserves to be busy because the food and service and surroundings are perfect. I will definitely be back and would recommend it to everyone.”
“We visited yesterday and I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread. I have to say these poached eggs were the best I have ever tasted in my life. They were cooked to absolute perfection. The yolks were perfect, just the right consistency and totally delicious. I'm not a great fan of the white preferring the yolk, but these whites were delicious too. The addition of the sourdough bread as opposed to ordinary bread added to the taste also. I don't know how your chef made this simple meal so exquisite, but please pass on my compliments to him/her. My husband enjoyed his omelette too. Will be back!”
“Fresh, tasty burger and quick delivery Can't fault Bashed! Food is always amazing. Full of flavour. Would definitely recommend. Tried the others but these guys make by far the best bashed burgers in Barry.”
“Delicious pancakes & Crepes, packed & well priced! Plenty of choice as with the coffee! Absouletly love this place with the awesome bonus of all of Whitmore bay (Barry Island beach) in front of you :) Awesome cream tea's too & much more! Cannot recommend enough!”
“Marco’s Cafe is a lovely place with great service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very good – friendly, polite, and always happy to help. The food and drinks are fresh and tasty, perfect for a relaxing break near the beach. It’s a great spot to sit, enjoy a coffee, and watch the world go by. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!”
“Proper old-school café, a genuine Greasy Spoon. Situated near to a trading estate, it is a little out of the way. Inside, there's a fair bit of space. They can probably seat about 60 people. Which is odd as from the outside it does not look like a particularly large building. The menu has, as you would expect, a full English breakfast with various size options. There are other options on the menu as well. Portions are value for money, cooked fresh and filling. Large mugs of tea and other drinks can be purchased. The staff are great, warm and welcoming. It was a genuinely positive and unpretentious experience visiting Café Atlantic.”
“Really nice beach side coffee shop. Went in for a drink to take for our travel home. I got a kinder latte and my friend got a chai latte (?) With oat milk. The gent that served us was amazing and even asked if the alternate milk choice was a preference or an intolerance. When told it was an intolerance he told us it would be done in a seperate jug and cleaned twice. Very good with allergens!”
“Excellent food and service. Bapman is well worth a visit by anyone in the area!”
“Amazing coffee… my OH is proper coffee fussy and he was really impressed because beach coffee is usually a bit naff. The Mocha was exceptional. We rarely find a mocha that is just the right balance, but this one was delicious! Lovely friendly, helpful lady serving us too :)”
“Coaltrain coffee shop is an absolute asset to the community. An absolutely lovely cafe in its own right if you decided to pick it up and plonked somewhere else, but being at the train station makes catching the train from Barry one of the best station experiences I’ve have had out of all the stations ive been too in the UK. A genuinely lovely service, great quality and with a calm inviting atmosphere, coaltown train is worth getting to the station early. Also vegan option available which is always a plus!”
“There’s nothing that gets the heart racing on this industrial estate quite like the sacred beep beep of Denise’s delivery food van. It’s our Pavlovian bell, summoning us from forklifts and spreadsheets alike. But it’s not just any beep. It’s the glorious trumpet that heralds the arrival of Steve, the man, the myth, the wrap wrangling legend. Steve doesn’t just bring food, he brings hope. An excellent selection of hot food and snacks that somehow taste even better when consumed while leaning against a skip in hi-vis. Whether it’s a bacon bap that could raise the dead or a hot wrap that hits the spot... Denise’s van is the spiritual centre of this estate. God bless the beep. God bless Steve. And God bless those snacks.”
“The best place to go for coffee in Barry, and a great place to go and work! There's also a really lovely outside seating area that's perfect if you have dogs”
“Super lush vibes! Why have I never visited before? I needed a place to go for an hour or so whilst sorting my car out and I came to Caesers! I have walked past a lot and has always been busy and I have never been in until today, and its lovely! Super welcoming team, nice and clean place and the coffee selections is great! (Lady with multicoloured hair gave me the lowdown of all the syrups and thank god as what I was going for was not what I ended up having as they had my fav Mint!) I had a coffee (which was huge) and a toasted teacake and both were stun! I will be visiting more often now as I so underestimated this place and I am sorry for that!”
“"Romilly's: A Bustling Beachside Gem at The Knap" Despite living 130 miles away in Sutton Coldfield, I've discovered this exceptional coffee shop near my daughter's home at The Knap. Arriving at 8:50 AM, ten minutes before opening, proved strategic as I secured a coveted parking space outside. The café's popularity became evident when, within twenty minutes of opening, it was already bustling with customers. While waiting for my daughter and grandson's short walk from home, I ordered their expertly crafted flat whites. The breakfast didn't disappoint - their sausage and egg toasted sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and my grandson Frankie thoroughly enjoyed a slice of their homemade carrot cake, which proved to be a perfect sweet treat. The café's success speaks volumes through their expansion - they've opened a second location just twenty yards away to accommodate their growing customer base. It's easy to understand why, as Romilly's consistently delivers exceptional service and quality food, complemented by stunning views across the Knap Gardens and Marine Lake. The combination of friendly service, delicious food and drinks, and the picturesque waterfront setting makes Romilly's a must-visit destination, whether you're a local or, like me, traveling from afar to visit family.”
“Just had the pleasure of visiting this cafe.staff are amazing and the dogs are treated just as well cant wait to go back.”
“Thought I’d give this place a try. It’s been so long since I’ve had a chinese like this. Large and piping hot portions. The counter ladies are all kind and friendly. I will definitely be back!”
