“I regularly go to the Barbering Schools of Wales for a free haircut by a student hairdresser. Today I tried a new style because I missed last month’s due to illness. The student who cut my hair was near to graduation so he had to cut at “shop speed” Jack was still able to give me a full consultation on how to achieve a “geezer ponytail” and shaved my beard in a style I can easily maintain at home. He was polite and courteous and his instructor only need a quick before and after to confirm what a great job he did. One of the best student cuts I have had and I’m sure Jack will go on to great success in the future. If you want a free, quality haircut, I can recommend booking a place at the Barberijg School of Wales”

“I've been visiting Hair by Alysha since 2017 (minus a brief period during COVID when I'd moved out of Newport). Good hair salons are hard to come by and this is definitely one of the good ones! I used to have a scalp bleach which is notoriously difficult to get right, but I was always amazed with how my hair got to ice white and was never frazzled or damaged! Following advice from the stylists, I made the switch from scalp bleach to highlights about a year ago. I definitely wouldn't have felt comfortable doing this unless I trusted the salon! The quality of advice and service is unmatched. Izzy does my hair at the moment and is fab, but all the girls are super friendly. Despite it being months between appointments you always feel like a regular. The prices are reasonable for the high quality hair and aftercare. I will hopefully never go to a different salon again!”

“Jade is an absolute expert when it comes to curls. I have never had such and amazing experience and would 100% recommend to anyone (curls or not!). The salon has a lovely welcoming atmosphere, and the staff are brilliant at what they do. As someone with curly hair who has been to a lot of salons and often left disappointed, I usually going to new places a slightly anxious experience (I’m sure most curlies can relate!) but I was immediately put at ease, and the appointment was so much more than just a haircut, it was also a masterclass and treatment in one. Fantastic experience and cannot recommend enough! My mum who has fine straight hair also had an amazing experience, so staff are knowledgeable for all hair types.”
