This level of comfort is what I expect from Wagamama and they nail it, it's not surprising but you expect it when you get there. Like Bambi's mum dying, "oh wow, there it is, she's dead..." just predictable. Nothing wrong with it, just predictable great service and comfort safe food in my opinion.”

“I’ve been coming here for over 5 years now and it never disappoints. It’s halal, family-owned, and the staff — especially Erik — are absolutely brilliant. You always feel so welcomed and looked after. The food is out of this world. The crispy chilli squid and prawn toast starters are a must-try (seriously addictive), and the duck wraps are some of the best I’ve ever had. For mains, you can’t go wrong with the beef in black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken, and their egg fried rice — all cooked perfectly every single time. It’s rare to find a place that keeps getting better after so many years, but they genuinely do. Can’t recommend it enough — if you’re in Cardiff and want amazing halal Chinese food with a real family vibe, this is the spot!”

“I was returning from the chemist. I was hungry and had been hungering for some lamb cooked over charcoal. I asked their recommendations, and their chef came over and told me the lamb options they had. I ordered Beyti, which was lamb mince mixed with chopped herbs and spices, in a freshly toasted wrap. It was simply amazing. Great depth and range of flavours, and the servings were more than enough. It was a great eating experience, and the chef was right to recommend eating the salad mixed in with the lamb in the wrap; the flavours mingled yet were side by side in each bite. Outside and inside looked inviting, the interior decor was pleasing with a 'night life in a hot country holiday' kind of vibe- gold, black, mirrors, that sort of thing. Seating was comfortable, and the place was clean. Cutlery was shining. The owner and his son were courteous; it was service with smiles. I've recommended the place to my friends and will be coming there again. It wasn't expensive and this place is a culinary excellence.”

He's the heart of the place, but the whole team should be commended for making our visit so enjoyable. “This is a great Chinese takeaway. For me, it is the best in the Vale of Glamorgan. I have tried many, but for me, you get great service and excellent size portions. Their chips are without doubt the best and again a great size portion. The food is always cooked fresh and we have never had reason to complain about anything there. The only slight issue for some people is that it is cash only, which to me is good business sense”

I asked if they did focaccia sandwiches and instead of a straight no, he got creative and whipped up something on the spot with their incredible pizza dough. What I ended up with was an improvised sandwich that tasted like it had been on the menu for years. Properly balanced, full of flavour and clearly made with care. Rare to find someone who goes above and beyond like that these days. Will definitely be back for what looks like some amazing pizza.”

BBQ meat is quite good but serving is small. Enough for me and my bf, if you eat a lot you have to order more. The food is not cheap here. We came here twice and we will back!”

“The best food in the city in all categories. Love the noodles with chicken and egg. Amount of food is huge, I think in the biggest box was nearly 1000g (1kg). And it's great on the next day - I'm sure you're not gonna eat it at once. Perfect food for very reasonable money. Order was always right, never had any problems with getting something different than I ordered so they keep an eye on this. And the stuff is very very friendly. Sometimes I visit them even 3 times a week when I'm busy and have no time to cook at home. And never regret it. Didn't try other door than noodles cause they're so good but I believe everything else is good as this. Will try pizza soon”

“My family and I were looking for a perfect birthday place for me and we came across this Korean barbecue, we never tried Korean food so this was new to us, but this restaurant filled all our expectations and more! This place was beautiful, it was traditional and amazing, the server lady was so nice as well as the other servers, they were so polite and attentive to us and always made sure we were happy with what we got. Food wise it was delicious, the food was large in portions and seasoned beautifully. Everything was set out neatly and conveniently! 100% would recommend eating here, food, service and the building in itself was and is a 10/10!”
