“Visited for a family meal on Sunday. Atmosphere was very pleasant staff was polite and accommodating. Food was served in officiant time and hot on arrival and tasted lovely the Christmas menu has a great range and was cooked lovely. Also great range of food for children. “I visited the Half Moon for a wedding reception. The food was excellent and offered plenty of choices including vegetarian options. The staff were great and coped well with a very busy pub (as well as the usual Saturday night drinkers there were a lot of thirsty weddings guests). I’d certainly like to go back for a few pints on a regular Saturday.”

“This pub is a perfect stop of after a walk at Ryton Pools. It has a beer garden, restaurant and bar. We took our dog and so went to the bar. She was made very welcome and even given a treat. We had the lunch specials, the food portions were good and they were great value for money. We all really enjoyed our meals and service was brilliant too.”

“Delighted to go the Old Mill for lunch with friends. The welcome was as always warm and friendly. Our waitress was Lois who attended to us so well being friendly and very helpful. She paid do much attention to us and always had a smile on her face. The meal was as usual delicious and well presented. I love the Old Mill for its great menu and friendly atmosphere. “Found this restaurant whilst driving past with work, thought that looks ok, checked on the internet and booked for Sunday lunch. Had a lovely 3 course meal and had not 1 thing negative to say about it. When again the following but this time opted for the menu rather than Sunday lunch. Again a lovely meal and nothing negative to say. The staff are friendly and professional, and a shout out to Lilia, only been once before and she remembered us and also remembered that I asked for no peas, that to me shows her quality as I’m sure she had served 100’s of customers over the previous week.”

“My husband and I stayed to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The staff were very helpful from the very first time we contacted them via email to arrange the booking with Roxanna. Our evening meal in the restaurant was superb. In fact I would say it was the best meal I have had in many years. I highly recommend the herb crusted lamb and both my husband and I agreed that the sticky toffee pudding was pure heaven. Geeva & Gael were very attentive serving staff and very pleasant. We chose to have a few drinks in the bar and again, Ashley the barman was a delight. Attentive, pleasant and friendly. Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we look forward to staying again in future”
