“My partner and I rang up to book a table late on bank holiday Sunday and luckily they squeezed us in. First time visiting and it is a lovely setting a small restaurant, it doesn't have much branding on the outside but looks like they have a lot of regulars! Staff were lovely prices were very reasonable and the food was lush! Good portion sizes too! My only quarrel is that the steak cheese burger I had said it was American cheese but it was more of a sauce (see in my photo) than a cheese slice which wasn't to my taste but that is more of a preference and just something I thought I'd make people aware of. Lovely restaurant!”

The pork tomahawk and sirloin steak were both cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. Paired with a lovely bottle of red wine, the meal was truly memorable. “Visiting this lovely little town over the weekend and we found a cocktail bar and thought we’d give it a try… did not disappoint! They had availability for me and my family to play darts, which was spectacular for a such a good system! The staff Kept checking on us for more drinks, they could not have been any more accommodating! After, we sat down for some food and more drinks, 2-4-1 cocktails on a Sunday all day and a great range to pick from too. Their food menu was worth the price and the size of portions were more than expected! Thankyou to Carmela and Fred for looking after us yesterday evening, would highly recommend and will be back soon!”

“Had the most enjoyable lunch. We chose the Camembert to share, we have had loads of camemberts as it is one of my favourites, but I have never ever tasted one this good. We had a glass of Chardonnay to go with it and the wine was exceptional as were the people who work there. Cannot find one fault and shall definitely be returning. “My new favourite space! This is one of the last remaining proper pubs in Derby - it is quirky, has something for everyone, a great selection of drinks and friendly staff and customers. I can't rate this place highly enough for how relaxing it is, both inside and outside in the Urban Garden. Love love love it!”

“Always an excellent night at the new Inn. Fantastic owners who always make us feel welcome. Treats everyone fairly and firmly. I witnessed the abuse she received from a young guy last night and in all honestly, I wouldn’t have been as calm as her. If that was my son, I would have been so embarrassed. To talk to a female they way they did and to threaten violence. Disgusting behaviour, they wouldn’t have spoken to a male like that. Bully behaviour. On the good side, it’s an all round great pub! And the quizzes are always a good crack too”

“I had an amazing experience here today thanks to the male barista who made my coffee. Not only did the coffee taste fantastic, perfectly balanced and smooth, but the latte art was absolutely beautiful! A true work of art. You can really tell he takes pride in his craft and cares about delivering quality. Friendly, professional, and talented! Definitely made my visit extra special!”

“Since the City Bar as been taken over by Landlord Matt. The Pub as gone from strength to strength, even allowing for Covid 19. Saturday night is alive with music, Customers and Staff all combining into a mix of pleasant atmosphere and the place to be in Derby.
