“Myself mum and my daughter had a meal here for my girls 9th birthday. Food was brilliant could not fault it. They even brought a special dessert for my girl and sung Happy birthday to her. My girl loved every minute. Highly recommend.”

The food is delicious and the Lion and Star serves the best onion rings ever! It could do with a wee make over but the food and service make up for that.”

“The new menu is fantastic! It’s such a relaxed atmosphere and they really make families with young children feel welcome! It’s not easy eating out with a 2 and a 5 year old but the staff always make us feel at ease, especially Becky, she is brilliant with our boys and always makes sure they get exactly what they want! Alan is great at accommodating fussy eaters too! A brilliant, family friendly place!”

“Been to T13 three times now over the past couple of weeks, and I have to say I've enjoyed my food very much each time. First I had 2 ham salad rolls, which were very well prepared and fresh and tasty, next I had their beautiful cauliflower and cumin soup which I must say is absolutely delicious, full of flavour and very, very good. Today I was in and got a couple of their onside made steak pies, OMG these are a must try, the steak is cooked perfectly, the gravy is different level, the pastry is just divine! You will NOT regret trying out T13! 5*”

“This place is amazing. The sandwiches are jaw crackers - stuffed full with fillings which are delicious. Attention to detail about the quality of everything is clearly on the agenda here at Alessio's. Flavours are gutsy and pack a punch. Superb value. Service excellent. Amazing place if you like punchy flavours, your sandwiches packed full to bursting and quality of ingredients top notch. I'd come back to Kirkintilloch simply to visit here. Bravo.”

“Everything is a 10/10. Ordered a pepperoni pizza and I haven’t had a pizza quite like that, the cheese was nice and stringy the pepperoni was great. Also had a side of Cajun seasoned fries and bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Cajun chips were perfectly seasoned and tasted amazing. The bread was nice and warm and soft fresh as well. Atmosphere was amazing we sat in the beer garden, lovely décor gorgeous place. Service was a 10/10 everyone was so lovely and had a great attitude. Food came fast only waited around 10-15 minutes and everything was fresh. Recommended to everyone”

“Excellent dog friendly facilities with towels for mucky paws, blankets for sleeping on, a stack of water bowls and free treats. Really welcoming. Friendly staff and efficient service. Reasonable veggie options with the halloumi flatbread being really tasty. We had a 40% off mains voucher, so our lunch was super cheap, making it absolutely brilliant value. Very clean, even in the doggie area.”

“This cafe has been in kirky for years.Family owned..Its my favourite chippy with the food cooked fresh as you order,staff so friendly .A warm atmosphere. Their ice cream is delicious, too.”

“I've been coming in to D'Nisi for my espresso fix every day, sometimes twice, and I've got to admit I love their espresso! It is definitely the best in Kirkie, and believe me, I've tried them all. The staff are fantastic, especially Lara, Joe, and Justyna (not sure I've spelt the correct. They are a credit to the company and always make me feel welcome. I haven't had the pleasure of trying any of their food, but what I've seen served looks delicious. All round this is a fantastic coffee shop, 5*!”

“Popped in for a quick drink with my better half during corona social distancing phase 3. Very impressed that all staff were taking every precaution available. I had a pint and the bar staff offered me a straw to drink from? A little weird drinking a pint from a straw but just shows how far the staff have went to ensure that every precaution available was utilised to prevent the spread! And the great thing is that the atmosphere was friendly and the experience felt extremely normal thanks to the staffs efforts. We'll done”
