“We’ve visit The Britannia several times over the past few years (every time we visited Richmond) and the experience was great every single time. On our most recent visit we tried the cheese soufflé, the fish and chip and the turbot. Every dish was delicious, fish on both mains was cooked to perfection, service was friendly and courteous. Wine list is great as well. Highly recommend for a great night out and exceptional food experience.”
“A neighbourhood pub, that we have frequented over the years. I love the homely, cosy interior, and the staff are very lovely. Often just to have a drink. But we recently discovered that they also do pretty good food. Portion sizes for the dishes are also generous. They provide snacks to nibble on as well like toasted bread and butter, and veggie crisps. But one thing to note is that this is not somewhere you go if you are in a hurry. It looks like they have a very small crew. The food service is very slow, we were waiting for about an hour before our main courses showed up, even when the pub was not even full, and we had come in off-peak times.”
“Staff here is great! They have a tapas lunch special during the day. 3 tapas for £13.5 The Smoked chicken croquettes were good, the king prawn comes with lots of chorizo though it doesn't quite come together, and the trio of mushrooms (3 types of mushrooms cooked/boiled together) was okay though excessively salted. Still worth the money but not high end though perfect for us as a small lunch meal for 2.”
“The home of English Rugby, I still went in. The Sun Inn is a glorious Richmond pub with plenty of rugby pictures and trinkets. Good selection of both cask and keg beers on offer. Great service from the island bar courtesy of the wonderful staff. Love the famous picture of Fran Cotton just after his bath! Super pub!”
“My friend and I visited Gazette for lunch and we were met with a wonderful smile from the manager Alina and great service from Ibul our waiter, the food was delicious and service was efficient, so much so, we went back for dinner the same day. Highly recommend”
“Riverside dinner was delicious. Taste and service were quite fine. Archie was kind and caring. Yet, (trio meat) sunday roast portion could be larger up to its price. Thanks”
“Came in with my family for a last minute Sunday roast. Staff were all lovely and the roasts were even better. Very impressive portions and the gravy is hands down the best I have ever had with a roast, it had such a depth of flavour I am still thinking about it and would literally drink it on its own. Chef also seemed sweet, waved at us through the pass and sent out extra yorkies as we were the last table of the night. Will defo be back.”
“I specifically wanted to compliment your door staff. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they are the main reason my friends and I chose to enter the venue. Their professionalism and positive attitude made a fantastic first impression. Thank you for providing such a great experience.”
“The new menu is amazing I had the trio of cheese cakes for my dessert and they were really great. My friend had the after eight chocolate parfait again the dessert was amazing. With the new menu offerings on the mains top all at great prices we were really impressed. We will be coming again.”
“Visited for Sunday brunch today, 10/7/22 and it was fantastic. Staff were lovely and efficient and it’s a really nice venue. Not sure why it isn’t busier! The brunch was brilliant. I’d definitely recommend the mushroom marmite eclairs - they’re addictive! Will definitely return.”
“Reopened after refurbishment. Atmosphere is great & exactly what you want for a cosy English pub. Great pub grub, good drinks selection & friendly/helpful staff/service. Great addition to local area & dog friendly (Guinness approves)!”
“Very good. Extremely nice staff and food was better than expected. The atmosphere is also more pleasant than usual in this kind of establishment, because the music is not so loud and very well chosen. Convenient location near the train station.”
“A fabulous Sunday roast in the dining room. Friendly, efficient staff. The beer garden lovely for a drink also. Great atmosphere !”
“Very nice pub in a nice location next to the train line. Delicious food and great service.”
“After spending 4 great hours in Kew Gardens we had a wonderful shared (for 3) Sunday Roast Chicken with all the trimmings. It was wonderful. The staff were super friendly and the pub was delightful. The Apple and Rhubarb Crumble was superb. Strongly recommend the The Greyhound Kew Pub to anyone be it for a quick drink or for a truly brilliant Sunday Roast. Top Marks all round Gracias from these happy Spanish tourists.”
“Highly recommended due to the warm, welcoming and professional team in charge. Had lunch ahead of the rugby at Twickenham and we were well looked after. Great food too!”
“Food is the star of the show , amazing prices and big portions”
“Sunday Roast was incredible, thanks to head Chef Dennis and our friendly waitress Bert, she is a little Star! Not forgetting the friendly bar staff, Fran and Leon. Always such a lovely atmosphere and experience. Huge well done guys. Keep up the great work, to the managers Nats and TJ”
“Very good value for money. Big rooms with comfortable beds. Location is nice with bars, restaurants and shops nearby. A bit noisy because of traffic and planes, but thats what you get in busy London. It's only 1 hour with public transport to the center of London and just 30 minutes tot Heathrow airport. The staff is kind and helpful. I only used breakfast and the variation an quality was perfect for me.”
“Really smart pub close to Putney station. Evidently geared up to show sports considering the amount of screens everywhere. Nice air conditioning keeping the place cool. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Very nice alcohol free called days. Friendly welcoming service. Nice enclosed beer garden at the rear also with screens. Overall definitely worth a visit.”
“By far the most most accommodating pub for private events!! We recently had our Christmas party hosted at The Victoria Inn by the most incredible staff, Emma and Ian. They welcomed our vision with open arms, allowing us to take over the full pub inside and out! Applying graphic to the outside of the pub, renaming the pub for the night, dress and theme the inside, provide our own entertainment (musical bingo singer and a DJ!) and even wore branded t shirts all evening, all with a smile! The planning process with Emma was seamless, she has the best ideas and wants to make your private event so special. This shows, our guests couldn't stop raving about the homely and friendly atmosphere. I'll undoubtedly be choosing The Victoria Inn for future private events - the best venue for an unforgettable night - thank you!!”
“Went for dinner at Thai Square and had an amazing experience thanks to Jennie and Elle. They were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive throughout the evening. They checked in at the right times, made sure everything was perfect, and their friendly attitude really made the meal enjoyable. The service they provided truly stood out and made the dinner feel special. Thank you, Jennie & Elle, for making our evening so lovely!”
“Old world pub which is an easy walk from Kew Gardens. Has an amazing beer garden, and in fitting with Kew Gardens has a pretty spectacular flower ensemble to enjoy while eating/drinking”
“Cosy spot for brunch or tea near Kew Gardens. Food was great. Ambience was nice too.”
“I was there yesterday, and had a fantastic time, the wait time at the bar is great! The staff were lovey and even helped me find my hat that I lost whilst giving my best moves on the dance floor! I would recommend to all as the age range is quite balanced.”
