“We spent a Friday evening here starting with axe throwing before going onto pool and then shuffle board. All of the staff were really friendly but one person in particular stood out - James. He is exceptional and helped ensure we had a really good time. He brings a lot of energy to the role and nothing was too much trouble. I think James in particular deserves some company recognition as he's an asset to the team. Great night and I highly recommend.”

“Visited today for my mums birthday - we booked last minute after a change of plans. We had 3 courses and every single one was delicious. Highly recommend the Sunday roast and the sticky toffee! The service was great - special thanks to the two young guys (I didn’t catch their names but a really young lad and the barman with plaits) for looking after us. We will be back!”

“Check-in was quick and easy, but the real highlight for us was the pub. Kajal looked after us and she was honestly brilliant! Really friendly, easy to chat to, and just made us feel comfortable straight away. She kept checking in on us at the right times, made some great suggestions, and you could tell she genuinely cared that we were having a good time. It gave the whole evening such a nice vibe. Thanks to Kajal we had a really chilled, enjoyable night. We’ll definitely be back!”

She worked quickly to get it clear, and made sure we were well looked after! what a lovely lady, thank you for your service!! It’s minutes away from the train station, rooms are spacious, there’s air con, comfortable bed, good breakfast times, quiet and I left an item behind in the room and they were absolute stars in getting it back to me. Such friendly helpful staff, had a great stay and then helping me afterwards was just the cherry on top!”

“Our family booked The Hammer In Hand for a wake yesterday. Staff were so friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Prices were extremely reasonable and the food served was fresh with a great variety of rolls. The whole day was made so much easier with the great service we received from everyone there. Thank you. The Prawn Tempura was perfectly crispy and light, making it a delightful appetizer. For the main course, we enjoyed the Chicken Garlic and Peppers with Rice, which was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of garlic and spice. “During our trip to Watford to visit the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio, we discovered this restaurant completely by chance. For our arrival lunch, the four of us had an absolutely delightful meal. Both the children and the adults loved every dish. The food was exquisite, and we received a very warm welcome. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return for dinner the following evening before the end of our stay, and we were just as impressed with the other dishes we tried. “Dropped by on a Friday evening and enjoyed an excellent meal, served promptly by friendly staff. Our dog was welcomed, toilet facilities were clean and well maintained and there was plenty of space to find a quiet corner. Only drawback is the limited parking locally.”
