“A Proper Little Cafe - Great Find Was in Rickmansworth on a Saturday morning and looking for a proper brunch spot that wasn't a big chain. Stumbled upon Cafe Deli 122 and it was exactly what we were after. First off, it's a small place and was pretty bustling when we arrived, which is always a good sign. We managed to get the last free table. It's not a fancy spot by any means; it has that classic, unpretentious British cafe feel, which was perfect for a relaxed breakfast. The menu isn't huge, but it has all the essentials you'd want. I went for the poached eggs and my friend had scrambled eggs on a toasty bagel. You can tell they use good ingredients. My eggs were perfectly runny and served on some proper thick-cut toast. The coffee was decent too – a good, strong flat white that actually tasted of coffee, not just hot milk. Service was quick and friendly, no fuss. The lady behind the counter was managing the rush really well and still had a smile for everyone. The best part is the price. For the quality of the food, it's brilliant value. It's easy to see why it's popular with locals. If you're looking for a solid, no-nonsense breakfast or lunch that tastes great and doesn't cost a fortune, this is the place. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area.”
“Went Sunday night and it was quiet inside but the food did not disappoint at all. This will now become my goto Turkish even though I live close to yaprak in eastcote I think this is worth the 20 minute drive for the better food. Price is similar. I thought the seasoning and quality of the meat was better. Next time I am bringing my kids to see what they think but I think they will agree”
“Lovely little cafe. Lovely staff, good food, good portions and reasonably priced. There is plenty to choose from.”
“An absolute magnificent location. I am a Miller and Carter fan and this location didn't disappoint me at all. Best food I've ever had in this stakehouse. Our waiter Eddie was fantastic, made us feel very welcomed and was very attentive.”
“Fantastic restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and it really added to the overall experience. The food was absolutely amazing – full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully prepared. A standout dish for me was the Pad Khing; the balance of ginger, spices, and freshness made it unforgettable. Every bite was delicious, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the cooking. I would happily recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be returning soon.”
“Quick emergency shopping trip. Large range of items, well organised. Good parking availability. Good experience. Deli section and fresh items looked appealing !”
“Proper café - good varied menu from full English to avocado and some Mediterranean food - staff fantastic specially the girl that served us very friendly and efficient This is what cafés should look like.”
“We love to come to this cafe when going for a walk at the acquadrome. Great selection of savoury and sweet food. Very good coffee. Plenty of seating inside and out, and dog friendly. So refreshing to find such friendly staff who genuinely seem to be enjoying what they do.”
“The staff were very friendly and helpful this evening. The food came out quickly and was made to a high standard. 5 stars!”
“Nice cafe and the person who runs it has always been kind to my child and makes an effort to make everyone’s day a little better. Thank you!”
“Our wonderful local bar. 100% recommended. Happy hours Monday and Tuesday. Cheese board free with a bottle of wine to drink in on Wednesday.”
“It is a lovely place to stop by for tea and something to eat after a long walk. Kids friendly as well!”
“I recently got an Egyptian design tattooed by Adie at Renaissance Tattoo and I honestly couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment I walked into the studio, it was clear I was in good hands. The space is spotless, calm, and welcoming—everything feels very professional yet personal. Adie took the time to truly listen to what I wanted. He didn’t just copy a reference image; he asked great questions about which symbols meant the most, how bold I wanted the shading, how fine the lines should be, what kind of style (realism, black & grey, etc.) I was leaning toward. He sketched with precision, explained the process and what to expect from healing, and made me feel confident every step of the way. When it came to the tattooing itself, I was amazed. The detail in the Egyptian motifs was immaculate. The black & grey work is smooth; contrast is strong but tasteful; every line is sharp, every curve intentional. During long stretches, he checked I was okay, let me take breaks when needed, kept the atmosphere relaxed (some good music, friendly chat), which helped more than I expected. What really stands out about Adie is not just his technical skill, but his intelligence and deep respect for what he’s creating. He clearly has a strong background—not just in art, but in understanding the meaning behind the imagery. I learned about his interest in Egyptology and theology during our consultation, and it made me trust that the symbols I’d chosen would be treated with care. Aftercare advice was excellent. He explained what to do (and what not to do), how the ink might settle or fade, how certain quirks are natural, etc. Now that the tattoo is healing, it looks even better than I expected—crisp, beautifully saturated, and still holding up strong. Overall, Adie at Renaissance Tattoo is outstanding. If you want an artist who is not only tremendously talented, but also intelligent, committed, communicative, and someone who cares about both the design and your comfort, you’ll be hard pressed to do better. I absolutely love my Egyptian design, and I can’t wait to go back for more. Highly, highly recommend.”
“A lovely café with a natural, earthy feel — calm, wholesome, and wonderfully inviting. It has a fresh, healthy atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease.”
“There is such a huge variety of options here and every dish I've tried so far has been fantastic. I love that it's both a cafe and a restaurant, and how much the vibe changes between day and night. The staff are warm and friendly, and the seating in the extension has a lovely atmosphere in the evenings. The chicken and waffles is scrumptious.”
“Perch & Co. near Croxley station is an absolute gem! The rustic vibe of the café immediately makes you feel at home, with its warm, cozy atmosphere and charming decor. The food is exceptional, made with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Their menu offers a great variety, catering to all tastes, from hearty breakfast options to delicious lunch specials. The staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely care about their customers. Whether you're stopping by for a quick coffee or settling in for a leisurely meal, Perch & Co. never disappoints. Highly recommended!”
“I visited The Old Shepherd for the first time on Saturday evening and was very impressed with everything about it. The decor and lighting help to create a great atmosphere along with the helpful and friendly staff and welcoming locals. The quality, portion size and value of the food was outstanding, I ordered a veggie burger which was the best i've ever been served in a pub and the fries were delicious too. I'm told there's live music now on most Saturdays and the artist playing was of a very high standard. Highly recommended venue worth travelling to.”
“Such an amazing venue - so clean and tidy. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a space to hire!”
“We love Cafe on the Common- the food, service and atmosphere are all fabulous. I dream of the whipped feta, it’s that good! And we all love the cakes too. Eating here also supports a wonderful community initiative- training young adults with learning differences, so its win, win! Highly recommend.”
“Went for a lovely lunch at the Bedford Arms with friends. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t the greatest—the pork schnitzel was thick and lacked flavour. On a happy note, we received absolutely amazing service from Kirsty! Thanks to her, we’ll definitely be back”
“Cooked to perfection it’s nice and delicious I recommend best restaurant I have ever had definitely coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“We had a fantastic dining experience at Prime Rickmansworth in Chandlers Cross. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, flavourful, and beautifully presented. The triple-cooked chips were absolutely delicious and complemented the meal perfectly. The service was attentive and professional, and the atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed. A wonderful spot for anyone who appreciates quality food and great hospitality, highly recommended!”
“A hidden gem! Had a lovely visit over the weekend, friendly staff, lots of places to sit and have some food or rest by the lake. Honestly it's more of a zoo than a farm with lots of exotic animals. Just to note there is no parking directly on the farm premises unless you hold a blue badge but not really an issue plenty of spaces on roads or if you are lucky within cassiobury park car park.”
“We popped in as a friend is staying locally. The pub isn’t much to look at from the outside but the food and service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs. Attentive and fast service. Really friendly. The food was excellent. We had the special mixed grill and it was brilliant. Beautifully seasoned and cooked. Highly recommend!”
“Lovely staff and friendly owner, very nice food and I’ve travelled 5-6 miles to come here for breakfast because they make a fantastic eggs royal, as the pictures show.”
“Best pub in Croxley. Best beer, friendliest staff and all the locals go here. Never a problem getting served no matter how busy it is. Yes some of the locals do sit at the bar but that is a good thing surely! Always enough staff on. Very popular with regulars and local clubs who choose this for their functions & get togethers. Can't go wrong.”
“Great food good prices. Dog friendly and cosy. The new kiwi burger is delicious! Bentley likes the look of it too! XMAS burger is very good!”
“Been meaning to leave a review for a very long time, however managed to forget..probably due to the fantastic friendly service we always receive from the team. We are always welcomed with open arms and the team bend over backwards to accommodate us. I must shout out the whole team… they’re all amazing… however, Becks has served us since we first started coming here, since moving in locally, before Jason the Head Chef joined, she was the main reason for our return. Jason joined, the food has been out of this world… I would recommend the roasts - they’re delicious! The beef is served pink and the vegetables are cooked perfectly and well seasoned. It’s always a pleasure coming to visit The Black Horse and we cannot recommend it enough. Final shout out to Becks, Jason… our favourites… and of course Harry, Layla, Ben, Jess, Jack and Ollie. ❤️❤️❤️”
“Really lovely place with so much character. An amazing Sunday roast dinner was had. The meat was succulent, tender and full of flavour. The veg was cooked to perfection. Super tasty Yorkshire puds and gravy. We shared a super serving of cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. Sat next to a roaring fire. Bliss. Highly recommend this place 100%.”
“This is a favourite local or ours and even though they were super busy today, the service is always 5* and nothing is too much for them. Service with a smile - always. This place also does the best coffees. Thank you again”
