“What a lovely place! We are here on a Tuesday evening so very quiet. We have stayed for 3 drinks and decided to try the food. Onion bhajis are light and crispy. The green chilli chicken is spicy. SPICY and I am here for it even though it made my tongue numb. The Gunter chicken has a delicious sauce and the bread is fab! Will definitely be back even though Jumbo the life size elephant scares the shit out of me!”

“You MUST eat upstairs at the Gun hosting Rake. Their modern twist on English dish’s was perfect. We got the small plates to share and they were really well sized. The cockles, sardines and chicken were particularly amazing and the desserts too. The staff are also fantastic and accomodating and the vibe and atmosphere gives small French bistro which topped it all off.”

Couple of weeks before we are allowed inside but they have an area at the front and around the back for outside drinking Excellent service . Highly recommended for the ales and cider connoisseur..”

“Been meaning to leave a review for a very long time, however managed to forget..probably due to the fantastic friendly service we always receive from the team. We are always welcomed with open arms and the team bend over backwards to accommodate us. I must shout out the whole team… they’re all amazing… however, Becks has served us since we first started coming here, since moving in locally, before Jason the Head Chef joined, she was the main reason for our return. Jason joined, the food has been out of this world… I would recommend the roasts - they’re delicious! The beef is served pink and the vegetables are cooked perfectly and well seasoned. It’s always a pleasure coming to visit The Black Horse and we cannot recommend it enough. Final shout out to Becks, Jason… our favourites… and of course Harry, Layla, Ben, Jess, Jack and Ollie. ❤️❤️❤️”

“This cafe carefully provides the very best tasting English Breakfast I have ever experienced. The presentation of which wouldn't be out of place in the best restaurants. They really care about their customers with happy smiling staff who take pride in every aspect of what they do. The cafe is immaculately clean and the prices are excellent value for money. “An Italian style coffee shop. Excellent coffee which is smooth and strong. The cakes are really great and home made. Very reasonable price as well. The lunch options are paninis, sandwiches and salad bowls, plus baked potatoes and priced between £3.50 and £8.50. Cakes £2.90 Coffees around £2-3 with Americano £2.40 and cappuccino £2.70. This is a friendly cafe with outdoor seating and ideal for coffee and cake whilst out shopping or light lunches with friends. A really lovely addition to this fast improving High Street.”

“Went for brunch on Sunday without a reservation. Had to wait for about 10-15 Mon for a table for 4 but all worth it. Had smashed avocado and American pancakes, my other half had pulled pork. All was great and looking forward to our next visit. Menu was looking great. Felt bright and modern. Service was polite, quick and efficient.”
