It’s minutes away from the train station, rooms are spacious, there’s air con, comfortable bed, good breakfast times, quiet and I left an item behind in the room and they were absolute stars in getting it back to me. “Discovered this amazing little spot today and it was 100000/10! The customer service was absolutely fantastic and the waitress gave the most delicious recommendations, the food was phenomenal and the restaurant was just sooooo beautiful!! We had a variety of pizzas, pastas, starters including the calamari and desserts which included the homemade tiramisu and delicious chocolate brownie and also a variety of delicious cocktails!! Everything was DELICIOUS!! We have visited many different restaurants in the Forest Hill/Sydenham area and I must say this is the best one by far!! Will definitely be visiting again - thank you!!!”

“Tried this place again as first time when it opened I was a little disappointed with the miso soup and gunkan which I found to be too salty and flavourless. This did not disappoint this time, the bubble tea was refreshing (ordered with less ice and less sugar), the food was delicious and decent portion sizes. Could pick up wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce for free as additions. Very friendly customer service, patient and helpful with all my questions and changing my mind. I plan to return here again, lovely place!”

“Good atmosphere and excellent service welcomed us to this small place. We tried most of the dishes offered on the concise menu. The wait wasn't long, the dishes arrived gradually and we were given the opportunity to taste all the courses in due time. Excellent presentation of the food, excellent quality of the products, different dishes with varied, distinct and surprising tastes. From the photos you can see the beauty of the food and at the same time you will understand that it will be good to the palate. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I advise you to go on foot, if you go by car you will have some problems with parking, I found a really expensive paid one, 3.75 per hour, or go in the evening after 6.30pm.”

“Went for a works meal. Brilliant service, fantastic atmosphere and lovely food. I had the tuna pizza and asked for extra anchovies and it was very tasty. The limoncello shots, random birthday celebration (for one of our party who wasn't actually celebrating a birthday!) and sing-along Italian hits added to a great feel inside this cosy restaurant. The only slight hiccup was that the tiramisu hadn't quite flawed completely, but honestly it didn't matter. I would definitely return.”

“Great experience at Poco Loco. I’ve been here quite a few times for the bottomless brunch. The staff are really friendly and attentive. We were never looking around wondering if we could order another drink. Thank you chefs the food was lovely too. Dee was serving us and was very good at making sure we had everything we needed and has a very personable manner. Also complements to the other server with the red curly hair. She served us last time and I remember how nice she was. The staff here are honestly great and there is a great choice of cocktails and drinks for bottomless brunch.”

Great on Deliveroo too, but easier to just go in, order, wait for the food— staff were welcoming and I had a coffee while I waited for the food to be prepared. Halal and vegetarian options too. “Tom Brown at the Capital We enjoyed visiting Cornerstone regularly for the six years it was open until the sad closing in 2024. The food was amazing , the service was excellent and we built up a great relationship with all of the team. But upon hearing that Tom was opening a restaurant at the Capital Hotel a place where he worked under Nathan Outlaw we were very excited to go. So after three months of opening we finally payed our first visit to Tom Brown at the Capital. What I can say is that this is Cornerstone taken to the next level. The food was stunning , the service was first class and this all happened in a beautiful and stylish dining room. Our afternoon got off to a fabulous start as we entered the hotel to be greeted by restaurant manager Charlie who then escorted us into the bar area for an aperitif. While enjoying a cocktail we looked at he menus where you could choose from either the Three course A la Carte or the Five and Seven course Tasting Menu. We then made our way to the dining room to be seated to our table. While chatting with Charlie we were offered the chance to experience the Nine course evening tasting menu which we gladly accepted. Next was to choose a bottle of wine to pair with the food and opted for the 2022 Finca Montepedroso Verdejo that was a dry wine with citrus notes that complimented each dish perfectly. The menu began with delight as we loved the Lobster Toast with Lardo. This was followed by the Oyster with cider and gooseberry. Next was the Charcuterie along with bread , butter and a crab oil. Our palate was the refreshed with a fabulous Scallop with melon and caviar before we enjoyed the Mackerel Tartare with soy and quail egg. The menu was improving with every dish and the Crab Custard with tomato and horseradish was no exception. Now it was time for the amazing Cuttlefish ‘cacio e pepe’ which led us to the main course of Monkfish , courgette and the famous chicken butter sauce. Before moving to the dessert we decided to have the supplemented cheese course of Baron Bigod , canele and truffle honey that was incredible. This led to the dessert of English Strawberry , cheesecake and sorrel just a delightful way to end a fantastic tasting menu. We finished with coffee and petit fours while enjoying a nice chat with Charlie. This gave us the opportunity to thank him and the team for a fabulous afternoon and one we will definitely be making a return to again soon. This is an upmarket version of Cornerstone that we absolutely loved. The food is of a higher level the service is friendly and professional and the location is amazing. So yes I would highly recommend a visit. Thank You Tom and all your team for a fantastic afternoon and look forward to seeing you all again soon.”

“I stayed here during the Women's Rugby World Cup (Sept 2025) as my usual hotel was full. I was unsure at first having not stayed here before though being familiar as I've had lunch a few times prior to being Warner. The room was clean, fresh and well appointed. Everything you need and with a superb view of the river. Any noise from the nearby road or Heathrow dims intonrhe background when windows are closed. The food at both dinner and breakfast is superb either in the Market Kitchen (buffet style) or Brasserie (served). I'd recommend trying both. Range of options are available and all dietary needs can (and will) be accommodated. Each evening, there is live entertainment provided. For us it was sounds of the 80s and then Billy Black Band. Absolutely superb with at seat service of drinks available. The gym, pool and spa are spot on whether you want a light pleasure pampering or fitness. I was very impressed. The staff cannot do enough to help, always carry a smile, and clearly know what they are doing. The easiest analogy I can make is it's a cruise ship on land. And a bloomin good one. This wasn't a planned stay but I will definitely be back. Very impressed.”

“Booked a table at German Gymnasium last minute on Sunday and had a great time. The food was exceptional and the service was spot on. The staff were really attentive and even stored our luggage while we ate, which was a nice touch. We ordered a couple of pints of lager that turned out to be quite flat, but we didn’t realise until our third round that it wasn’t meant to taste like that. We mentioned it to the team, who confirmed it was just a bad batch and kindly took the two off the bill. Overall, a really enjoyable meal with great food and friendly service – would happily visit again.”
