“I was early for work and couldn't access the building I needed. So I had a quick look for a coffee and a small bite to eat and spotted this little cafe. It was fairly quiet for a Monday morning, which was a surprise. I had just a coffee and croissant with cannelloni. Both were fresh and tasted great. The price was reasonable, considering I would have paid almost twice as much at most mainstream brands for a coffee alone.”

I always compare to best one I’ve had and often am left disappointed, however, I enjoyed Luna cafe’s perfect amount of spice and cinnamon flavour, not overwhelming and as sweet as I like it. I had eggs florentine, they took my request into account ensuring the eggs were cooked for slightly longer, so they came out just how I liked. Flavourful and enjoyed this brunch. I would definitely try other options here again. Interior is pretty, flowery and cosy environment. Great for families.”

“A really lovely pub. We like to eat inside and love the decor. Staff are super friendly and service excellent. (Server was Cello; last time we came it was Poppy- both lovely as was everyone else.) “You know that moment when you walk into an Italian Bengali restaurant and your brain hesitates? Like… is this going to be another chaotic, Bangla-fusion-gone-wrong, 47-page menu, customer-service-optional situation? Or just maybe a proper Italian spot that makes you think, “Hey hey hey… we might have something here.” Well, I’m glad to report: this place is firmly in the hey hey hey category. The lasagne and the carbonara (halal, of course) absolutely slapped. One bite and I was instantly transported back to my backpacking days in Milan and Rome minus the hostel bunk beds and questionable Wi-Fi. The pizza? Banging. The pasta? Spot on. The lasagne? A hug from Nonna herself. Now yes… I do question their 1,000-item menu, including a full English breakfast, burgers and probably a weather forecast. But somehow, this Italian-Bengali joint is a hidden gem, and the guys in the kitchen genuinely do the Italian dishes the Italian way. Pay them a visit. Support a local business (in cash, IYYK). They do accept card as well but there are some cash deals for collection which are great. The atmosphere and tables are like an east end cafe but the food is banging. Your taste buds will thank you and me.”

“I've lived around the corner in Bermondsey Street for six years and went to Al's Cafe for the first time this week. My partner has been by himself a few times when he says he needs some carbs. On this occasion i decided to go with him and I really enjoyed my veggie breakfast with my fried egg well done as requested. They said we could take our dog inside and gave her a sausage which she ate in a matter of seconds. It's a well executed traditional cafe or greasy spoon serving an array of breakfasts along with sandwiches and jacket potatoes. The service is prompt and super friendly. The interiors are clean and welcoming. On my visit there were a mix of locals, office workers having meetings and tradespeople. It is a great place to enjoy a traditional breakfast which is value for money.”
