“This is a brilliant local place. East Finchley regulars will he well aware of it but if you are new to the area and are not sure which cafe to go to/try first then this is the one. Great food. Great salad boxes, great baked goods. Coffee, smoothies juices etc are all fantastic. Update: Cheeky shout out to La Gourmandise on the High Road in East Finchley. Most people know there are a great place for good food and baked goods but we’ve had a few cakes from them too. Out son’s first birthday cake being the most recent and every time they’ve been fantastic. Really tasty, well presented and very reasonably priced. Good local business to consider!”

“If I want a guaranteed lovely brunch then it's 100% Beit Cafe. Their red shakshuka with the tahini dressing is delicious and they have great coffee. Really chunky coasters and great mugs, it definitely makes a difference! Lovely food, great personable service and amazing baked goods. “Really, really lovely pizza in the evenings. Possibly the best in the Crystal Palace / Penge / Beckenham area? Don't let the front of the shop fool you, there is a lovely dining area in the back with a live grape vine covering the ceiling. With the peak summer evening heat and some Europop being played it was almost like being on the Mediterranean! Seems like they prefer people to book in advance, but they accepted our unannounced group of five, and we all seriously enjoyed our food. Definitely going back.”

“A classic cafe, I'm not from London and it's exactly how cafés used to be. You would say its a greasy spoon with decent food. I had the number 2 breakfast, swapping chips for bubble. The bubble was amazing, creamy and very buttery, it's not something that we can get in Wales. I would recommend this place as its very reasonable as well. Staff were friendly”

“Found by chance as I was in the area having dropped off a friend at King College Hospital in nearby Denmark Hill. I am a Blue Badge holder so can park pretty much anywhere but I wanted a quiet street. This little cafe was perfectly located with the park, and the operator was super helpful even taking time to bring out my Hot Chocolate and bacon sandwich to my table. At the time of my visit they were from Quito Ecuador! Husband and wife team, it was a popular place for local dog walkers who sat on the various benches and tables outside. There was even bowls of water for the dogs!”

“A fantastic cafe within walking distance from Stamford Brook tube station. The interior is nice (both the ground and the first floor) and there is also a garden (with a lovely scent from the jasmine). I’ve been there several times for lunch, I’ve tried the Vietnamese pancakes (filled with salmon and slaw) and the Turkish eggs. There is also wifi.”
