“Called in for a few drinks while in the area. This is a "proper" old school pub which is rare these days! The lady serving was lovely and helped us with some local knowledge of bars in the area. Good pint of Guinness”

“Simply Stunning!! Valentines afternoon tea for all the family, we visited as a family age range 3y-68y and there was something for everyone. The food was fresh and extremely tasty, the venue itself was beautiful so special and has perfect photo opportunities and the service was outstanding it felt very personal with lots of extra special touches. I can 100% recommend and will be back to visit again. Jade”

“Tried this place again as first time when it opened I was a little disappointed with the miso soup and gunkan which I found to be too salty and flavourless. This did not disappoint this time, the bubble tea was refreshing (ordered with less ice and less sugar), the food was delicious and decent portion sizes. Could pick up wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauce for free as additions. Very friendly customer service, patient and helpful with all my questions and changing my mind. I plan to return here again, lovely place!”

“Celebrated my nephew’s 30th birthday party yesterday evening. Held upstairs in the private area. Absolutely brilliant. Lovely staff, great food. Above all, Renegade DJ was the best. ! Had everyone dancing all night. And what a happy, bubbly person you are. So nice (and refreshing) to see a DJ in such good spirits ALL NIGHT. “We had an amazing experience at TASQUERIA by SMOQUE! We enjoyed a two-course meal from the lunch menu, which included the seabass dish, a side of fries, churros, and Oreo cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. The presentation was on point and aesthetically pleasing. If you’re looking for an authentic Spanish restaurant, look no further. The prices were reasonable, the decor was lovely, and the staff were professional and attentive. The restaurant was clean and spacious, though the ladies/disabled toilet was used for a bit of storage. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and I would definitely recommend it. We will be back again with friends! Feel free to adjust any details as needed!”

“What a great little pub, the only reason I marked down for atmosphere is because we went at lunchtime , so maybe not as lively as in the evening. We sat in the dining area but the rest of the pub was busy. The food was delicious, hot and the batter on my chicken was perfect. Another bonus hot pork scratchings! Shouldn’t have had them before are ample dinners! The staff were so friendly and it’s reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend”

“Had a lovley time on Saturday here unfortunately the kareoke is not on but the landlord played any music we requested and gave us free shots the staff were warm and welcoming and will definitely be going back thanks to all wirking we were truly looked after”

“Top pub in Purley, friendly and busy on a Saturday night - Curry was spot on and the live ska band (perfectly timed as we finished meal) were phenomenal.. Great night had by all. Waitress was also on the ball and came up to us every time drinks got low... 10/10”

“Definitely my favourite Costa coffee. The staff are so friendly and helpful and things are never too much trouble for them ( unlike the branch on the high street, Brighton road Purley) Food is good and plenty to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.”

“Great food, really nice folks, very clean cafe, spacious, good place to gather your thoughts. They take debit cards and prices are very good value and sometimes cheaper than other places. Food is similar or better or different in a good way, to other cafes, not the usual boring stuff. Much is home made and fresh. The lady there makes cakes, so I ordered a birthday cake, all beautifully decorated to order, at half the price people making cakes at home charge, and a fraction of what it costs in a large bakery chain for a birthday or celebration cake. I will be going there regularly from now on.”

“I’ve been to this branch of Starbucks a couple of times recently and it’s been great. My friend is disabled, so parking is very convenient as there are Blue Badge parking spaces directly outside. Access is easy too. The staff are all friendly and you don’t feel rushed, even when it’s near closing time. One outstanding member of staff we encountered was Elaine, the manager, who is incredibly friendly, warm and kind. She was extremely considerate and helpful towards my friend, who needed to access the toilet. Elaine made sure she could navigate her way to the toilet safely and that there were no obstructions in her way. On our way out, just as the shop was closing, Elaine cheerfully called out to say goodbye, which was a lovely touch. It’s warm, friendly and helpful staff members like Elaine who contribute to a positive experience when visiting a coffee shop. Thank you Elaine. You’re an asset to Starbucks. Update: When I first encountered Elaine, I mistakenly thought she was the cleaner as she was mopping the floor. On my next visit she told me that she was actually the manager and had found my post hugely amusing. This just shows what a wonderful sense of humour Elaine has! It also shows how the manager is prepared to do any task that is required.”

“Went here for a birthday dinner and wasn't expecting a good time due to the current circumstances, but we was pleasantly surprised. We were seen promptly, and was greeted by staff who were positive and making us laugh constantly. The food came quite speedily, and was cooked to great standards, especially the ribs and the burger. The service and delivery was spot on. Will definitely recommend. Special shout-out to Shannen who was an amazing waiter.”
