“A friend recommended this place, absolutely amazing food. Dont get put off by the shop front . Staff were friendly and portions were generous. Also 15% off when collecting. The lamb in the biriyani was so soft, okra was not too soft and the spinach lamb was so tasty. Will be our local Indian from now on.”

“I visited this lovely café in early July 2025 while spending the weekend with my best friend from the USA, who was staying in an Airbnb nearby. We found this place online, and it truly did not disappoint! From the first bite of the fluffy pancakes to the perfectly cooked full English breakfast, everything was absolutely delicious. The hot chocolate, was easily the tastiest I’ve ever had — rich, smooth, and comforting. The staff were respectful, and genuinely welcoming, they made us feel right at home. Their service was impeccable — attentive without being intrusive and you could tell they truly care about their customers. It was a quiet Sunday morning, so we even had the chance to enjoy a lovely chat with them. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food, amazing people, and a wonderful start to the day.”

“We had planned to visit this pub for ages after a recommendation so we booked a slot for today 1.30. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff who we worked out to be in charge confident polite informative, we were sat down and our waitress was introduced to us another polite and pleasant member of staff as were all the staff. To shorten the story the food was great the staff were excellent the atmosphere was very pleasant so would we go again definitely, would we recommend it without hesitation, was it value for money we think so. “Very welcoming. Large garden area which accommodates those that want to sit in the sun, and a covered space for those that prefer the shade, or to smoke in the evenings. Although the u shaped bar is not physically separated, it has a feel of 3 separate sections of the bar. This is an ideal layout for locals and first time visitors to find an area that suits them. Personally I view the left hand side of the bar as most suitable for families, or those most familiar with the pub. This area leads to the pool room and garden. The middle section at the front of the pub seems to be an ideal area for groups but also attracts those that like to pop in on their own for a few drinks. This area is also where the jukebox is located. There always seems to be someone that knows how to choose the most suitable songs to suit the taste of pretty everyone in there at the time. The right hand side of the bar seems to attract mostly couples. There is also a dartboard in this section of the bar, however, that area also feels like a sub section of that part of the bar. The bar staff are friendly and welcoming and very easy to talk to. As far as I know, it's a dog friendly pub too. They have resident dogs, and customers have come in with theirs occasionally. I've been to this pub often in the last 6 or 7 months, it's been a safe place to drink for me and I have never seen any trouble. Any hint of trouble is swiftly dealt with by staff and regulars. It's a traditional pub that has managed to maintain the nostalgic atmosphere that is hard to find in pubs since the Wetherspoons era began. Thoroughly recommend this pub.”

We love to have a nice kebab or burger every so often at our workplace just down the road from them. They deliver and make the extra effort to come in our office and say hello. The owners, Lee and Michael, are warm and welcoming, and their talented daughter Mai is an absolute gem. The prices are reasonable, and the quality of the services is simply great. “I didnt eat here so cannot comment. Entry is from a side door, which is a bit sketchy. Ive been here twice now and been served by three different servers and all of them have been friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Real ale from the mighty Oak Maldon on tap was good and well looked after.”

I went in to buy hair mouse, ended up leaving with an aloe vera gel thats sold for £7 online on amazon and in other hair shops but was £5.. the prices are very reasonable and I ended up buying so many things I needed because the owners were super friendly and were very helpful in helping me find other items I was interested in.”
