“I had a great experience at this great pub located just off Esher high street. I had great communication from Liam to confirm my booking of 20 guys. He arranged a room for us upstairs, took table service for lunch and we were so well cared for by Sam. He was very attentive to us. The whole group had great things to say about their food. An excellent pub for a Sunday roast.”

“A Truly Wonderful Stay – Even with a Rocky Start What a fantastic experience from start to finish—even though our trip began on a difficult note. My wife was injured on the way to The Bear, and we couldn’t have been met with more kindness and care. The staff went above and beyond, and Tracy was an absolute gem—warm, genuine, and made us feel like we were staying with friends rather than in a hotel. This stay really highlighted the contrast with one of the sister hotels we visited, which lacked the same warmth and charm. It’s our second time at The Bear—we stayed last year, and although my wife was initially hesitant about staying in a pub setting, she ended up loving it so much that it topped her list for this year’s trip. We noticed several subtle improvements since our last visit—small touches that really add up and elevate the overall experience. It’s clear that care and attention to detail are a priority here. If we had one minor complaint, it would be the limited parking, but it’s a small trade-off for such a welcoming and comfortable stay. Top rated—we’d love to return again.”

“Absolutely delicious! We had a chicken tikka biryani and a chicken tikka karahi, delivered to eat at home, and the food was outstanding. My biryani was perfectly cooked to my preferred level of heat, and was packed with meat, the sauce full of vegetables. The karahi likewise had big tender chunks of chicken, and the onions brought a lovely sweetness to the sauce. The portions were generous too :) I'll certainly be ordering from there again.”

“The community rebuilt this park cafe and it is an excellent facility enjoyed by everyone who uses the park and Claygate Primary School. On a sunny weekend you will see many groups and families playing games, having fun, eating ice creams, with drinks etc. Food gets 4 stars only because it is not Michelin starred.”

“Delighted to recommend Hummings at Home. We used the team to help out with our daughter’s 18th birthday party at home. A pleasure to have Lewis behind the bar serving a lively group while keeping things sensible. Bouncers Chessy and Leon provided a safe space for the kids to have fun while being respectful of our home. Hummings proprietor was very attentive making sure his team arrived on time and checking they had everything they needed to do a brilliant job. All supported behind the scenes by Mahathi who expertly understood our requirements and matched the team to our needs. I would highly recommend the Hummings team to support any event in the home - helpful, flexible and very professional. Thanks guys!”

“My wife, daughter, and I ate here while visiting Chessington World Adventures. The food was fantastic, the ambience was lovely, and the staff were patient and very welcoming. The staff welcomed us and gave enough time between each course and couldn't be more helpful. The food was as good as a meal in Italy! We ordered both the bruschetta and caprese salad between my wife and l, and the tastes were well-balanced and only bettered by the fresh pumpkin ravioli and pizza. If we visit the area in the future, we will certainly be going back!”

“Genuinely nice family running the shop. Very friendly atmosphere, mum and daughter are very chatty. I went on Friday evening just for some chips, they were excellent and fresh. However they only take cash payment, which is fine by me as I'm old school. Do check if they are open in the month of August as they close the shop for holiday.”

“Booked a table for an hour. Still under lockdown rules but felt safe outside and despite being essentially a car park in an industrial site it was relaxing a ok surroundings. Maybe the excellent microbrew helped. Tried several and based on the result I bough a box more. Really enjoyed the cold spark.”

“My wife, my son and I visited The Wheatsheaf to celebrate my wife’s birthday.The food and service were excellent. I had turkey and the amount of meat was a lot more than I expected. I would also recommend the Camembert sharing plate which we had as a starter. It was a little loud for my taste but it was pre-Christmas and there was a large group near us that were celebrating a little loudly. Amount spent below includes drinks and gratuity.”

“Hadn’t booked but they were able to easily accommodate. I at first thought they were closed but was just the first customer of the evening! (It was a Monday night). It could maybe have done with some music in the background. But the decor was wonderful & service good. The food came out super speedy. I had coconut rice & vegetarian Thai green curry w/ tofu. It was some of the best Thai food I have eaten - and that includes in Thailand. Very reasonably priced. Will most definitely be going back.”

“Absolutely wonderful little pub set very much in suburbia. The outdoor seating in the front as we entered was being well used with TVs up for football etc. The barman was very friendly as were the locals inside. And when the sign above the door says 'Mind your head', mind your bloody head!! It hurts!! Anyway, the Guinness was superb as was the Surrey Hills brewery Ranmore.”

Beautiful atmosphere and wide variety of menu options and lots of gluten free options! Alex took such great care of all of us and went out of his way to make sure all of my dishes were celiac friendly! I highly recommend this spot. The Patatas Bravas were particularly delicious! “The lovely pub hosted our daughter's 40th Birthday party in the side room off the main bar. We were able to decorate the room and also to have a local guitarist entertain us together with a fab face painter. Our party was able to order yummy food and drinks from the bar. I can't thank Nick and his super staff more. Highly recommend this great pub..”

“The good Earth is the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the chicken satay and chicken and chive dumplings for starters, char siu pork and kaarage chicken for main and a coffee and crème brûlée for dessert. The service is very friendly and the staff are very attentive. Would recommend for anyone to check out!”

“My dad took me here and at first I was sceptical, as I’m very much a beginner in spice and not always in the mood for a late dinner night out. But once I was there I didn’t want to go! The staff and very helpful, nice and definitely know their Indian food! And the spice? Don’t worry, from beginners to spice pros it’s perfect! There’s a lot of effort put into this great restaurant!
