The place is very small (japan style) low ceiling, one chef...just incredible taste and texture. We went early, about 4:15pm for dinner, took a chance and glad we did. No alcohol here either FYI.”

“A super find when we searched for a gastrobar between Roedean & London. Food was excellent, and the service was superb. I appreciated how they tried their best to nudge things along as we had expressed concern over our schedule when we made the reservation. Loved the local garden inclusions in the menu. “I seriously love my fish and chips and this was hands down the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life. Everything was completely made to order and boy was it worth the wait. The batter was so crispy but not greasy and the fish was so juicy and succulent in the middle. It was literally cooked to perfection. The chips were amazing too. Not to crispy and not to soggy. A perfect blend and you can tell they use really good potatoes. Really friendly service in lovely little area. Just a shame I don’t live closer as would be here every Friday! Highly recommend!!”

“Hawthorn is 100% your new go-to spot in Kew/Richmond. For some background, everyone who I was with for dinner had previously dined at the Glasshouse at some point in their lives, so when we all arrived for dinner at Hawthorn, we were intrigued about how it would compare… AND WOW our expectations were blown out of the water. Not only did we each quite literally lick the plates clean, but we all felt that each course was complex yet also felt so simple and just plain delicious. We heard that the restaurant just opened a couple of weeks ago, but the food tasted as if the chefs have been cooking together for years. Whether you are there for lunch or dinner, either set menu is incredibly well priced (especially when the food quality is at this level). The sommelier is incredible, suggesting perfect pairings for each course to accommodate every taste bud or finding a bottle that works with a table of diners who ordered a mixture of seafood and meat mains! Conveniently it’s also right next to Kew Gardens station or a short walk from Richmond station - very easy to get to and definitely worth a trip. What an amazing new restaurant in Kew!”

The flavors are subtle, layered and blended which come together in a delicious beautiful symphony for the taste buds. The unique flavors will have you thinking about your eating experience for days afterwards. The staff are so friendly and welcoming it’s like you are sitting at the table at their home. “I came here after seeing the good reviews and super pleased that I tried it. It's a tiny shop, where you order on screens and the team make it in front of you. I ordered a chicken wrap and the chicken was really delicious and well cooked. I also ordered the crisps with hummus, the crisps were brilliant but the hummus portion looked slightly small compared to the tub they serve it in. Definitely a great option for lunch.”

“This place deserves much higher review points. Everything is perfect. Literally perfect It has been around many years. Feels so cosy with carpet and cushion decoration. Lighting and music really on point and good. Really helpful staff. Enough time between the meals. Had beef tartare and tempura squid and prawn as a starter. Burger and beef stroganoff for main. Cost around £60 per person inc service charge which is really reasonable for the quality they are providing. Thanks”

The use of spices was incredible, if you order the potatoes (Aloo Tuk) you will spend the entire meal trying to figure out what they are seasoned with. Absolute magic. “Sat a outside on a cute street with lots of small village charm. This is an adorable petit French bistro! Unfortunately the chicken dish was out, so I opted for the vegetarian item of the day. It's was delicious. I started with the French onion soup, per recommendations. It was good, but I regret not trying something else. Highly recommend stopping by after a visit to Kew!”
