“What a hidden gem in Putney! The food was incredible and packed with flavour. The staff were kind and attentive, and it was a real value for money. Highly recommend the poppadoms as a starter!”
“This was a family outing and our first visit to Chook Chook. Jerry, our waiter helped make an already special evening even more special. Food was exceptional. Decor unique and delightful. I highly recommend the prawns starter.”
“I worked in London for about two years and was staying near Tangawizi. I ate there a couple times a week many many times over that two year time frame. I absolutely love it there. The food is phenomenal and always has the highest quality ingredients. The service is exceptional as well. Eight years later, we returned to the UK for my 60th birthday and I wanted to visit them again due to the fond memories I had. Our dinner this evening was just as phenomenal as ever. The flavors and freshness of the ingredients was incredible. The King tandoori shrimp are a favorite of mine and I literally got another order for dessert rather than a normal dessert. They thought I was joking when I ordered it for dessert! I travel frequently for business and have had the opportunity to eat at many phenomenal restaurants and they are at the top of the list with the best! I’m so happy they made it through the pandemic and now celebrating 20 years. I would highly recommend Tangawizi!”
“I’ve been a frequent visitor here over the years. Raj and the team are absolutely lovely - welcoming and kind. The chefs are rightly proud of their flavoursome creations. The menu changes often - to tickle your taste buds, but old favourites are always available. The food is fresh, perfectly cooked and tremendously tasty. I highly recommend a visit - you will not be disappointed.”
“The food was amazing . Specially the chicken biryani. The chicken was so tender and soft, just fell off the bone. The staff was also very friendly and hard working.”
“We came here for dinner via the Fork. Place is close to Richmond station with free parking nearby after 4:30pm. We got the poppadum. We had the pani puri, sheekh kebab and paneer tikka. All were great with a kick to it. For the main we got Lamb saag and chicken curry with naan and rice. The food was quite spicy and flavourful. Bill was around £55 which is reasonable.”
“Found this place after a disaster of cancelled orders and thank god we did! The food was incredibly tasty! Lamb was flaking beautifully and I’m not someone that typically goes for lamb. The chicken was flavoursome and juicy and tender. The saag paneer was excellent. Everything was well packed, HOT so no need to re heat and it was so lovely receiving some popodoms and chutney. Will defy e ordering from here again and will be recommending to others!”
“Food was so amazing, biriyani and naan is delicious i will strongly recommend this restaurant. Nice ambiances friendly staff. Thank you Lal Bagh”
“Centrally located and spacious. Great food and wonderful service simply adorn the ambience. Its neat and clean This restaurant is ideal for family gathering and birthday parties. A must go for Indian cuisine enthusiasts and those who fancy himalayan food. Wow! SUPERB!!”
“An excellent restaurant with brilliant service and great sanitation. We felt looked after and safe the entire evening! Food was one of the best we have had in London. We got the aloo tiki chaat, papdi chat, salmon, shashlik and terichelly prawns for the starter and we were blown away by the authentic flavours. My favourite would have to be the aloo tiki chaat and the prawns. Everything tasted fresh and tender with perfectly balanced flavours. For the main meal, we got the methi gobi, chettinad, butter chicken and dal makhani with rice, naan and paratha; all were superb! There was a range of spice levels and something for everyone in the family, veg and non-veg. The portions were a great size and the presentation of the food and drinks made the evening even better. I am normally quite particular and uncompromising about food but I have never been so impressed. We will definitely revisit many more times in the future.”
“Brilliant restaurant that has survived here since 1982 under the same ownership. One of the oldest in the area, that says a lot. Service is good, have drinks on drafts and prices are reasonable. They accommodated us very late on Boxing Day and most importantly the food was great, at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.”
“This restarant serves authentic Indian cuisine. I love to come here with my friends, hang out and have a delicious Indian curries. My favorite one is Lamb Rogan with garlic naan. The staff are friendly and welcoming.”
“We ere recommended by friends and visited after a day at Kew Gardens. An amazing Indian dining experience! The butter chicken is rich and flavorful, the naan perfectly soft and crisp, and the samosas are crispy with a deliciously spiced filling. The mushroom rice was recommended and it didn’t disappoint. Paired with friendly service and a welcoming ambiance! Thanks”
“We had dinner here on a Sunday night so it was very quiet. Nevertheless we were greeted by Arvin who was a great host and explained that it was family run and that showed as the food here is very good and they obviously care about their product. Each dish has its own distinctive flavour and colour. We had the lamb rogan josh which was excellent. I also had their special chicken dish. The chicken was tender and succulent and I could not fault it. This is a great restaurant and we will return. I just wish we had gone to it before!”
“Wow, honestly what can I say. Understated location which packs a punch!! From the second you walk in, greeted by Zam and Sumit who were the best hosts all evening. But even the exceptional service was outshone by the supreme quality of the food. Unable to fault start to finish. Flavours like nothing else in the area. A must visit!!”
“What a lovely experience, visited Jaflong after reading the raving reviews with my family. So glad we came, the staff were amazing and so friendly! There were so informative, and helpful. The house dishes and the king prawn Lajawab were amazing, not forgetting onion bhajis, it was exquisite.”
“This is one of the best restaurants we have been to in London. The staff were lovely and the food was absolutely fantastic. The use of spices was incredible, if you order the potatoes (Aloo Tuk) you will spend the entire meal trying to figure out what they are seasoned with. Absolute magic. Do yourself a favour and get yourself here, you won’t be disappointed.”
“Restaurant serves delicious Indian food. Their Tawa Paneer and Butter naan are scrumptious. Service was good and the restaurant owner is exceptionally Kind and friendly!”
“I've been eating and taking away from this restaurant almost from the time I moved to Putney 57 years ago. Thetford has always been delicious, the service unfailingly professional but friendly and the portions more than generous. I love it.”
“Excellent food with a balance of spice and the fresh taste of the meat, especially spring lamb. Kingfisher and nice people there.”
“I recently ordered from Rosana Spice for a Wednesday night dinner and was really impressed. The food was phenomenal: fresh, tasty, and beautifully cooked.especially butter chicken was so good the sauce was creamy and full of that classic Indian flavor I’ll definitely be trying more from their menu.”
“Bengal Village has been my favourite takeaway for the 30 years I’ve lived in Richmond. Always absolutely delicious and lovely staff.”
“A fantastic experience at Taj Mahal in Richmond! The Karahi Lamb was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor. The ambience is beautiful and vibrant, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable meal - I went with my wife for Valentine’s Day and it did not disappoint. The service provided by the colleague was excellent, making our dining experience truly enjoyable. Highly recommended to visit when you’re in Richmond.”
“Great restaurant, classic British Indian with a great selection of authentic dishes also. BYOB combined with a relaxed atmosphere makes it a must-try if you're in East Putney.”
