Our waiter Sailaxmi was polite, attentive, and had a warm smile throughout. She made sure everything arrived on time and checked in just the right amount to make sure we were happy. “Honestly, one of my favourite spots. Super simple place, the decor is fine, but dated. The staff here are extremely attentive and always incredibly friendly. The food, is out of this world, the chicken is always succulent and juicy, the lamb is tender and rich. All the accompanying foods are just as good. The portions are generous and delicious. I try to come here every couple of months. Super happy to support an honest and high quality establishment. 10/10 every single time.”

“Perfect Birthday Party Venue. The venue turned out to be excellent in every aspect for my toddler's birthday party. The space , the food , the hosting & car park facility. The hotel hall was perfect for our 40 guest list with one wall side fittingly suitable for decor as suggested by them. The food was top notch. The Lotus stem appetizer and Jackfruit Biryani were the stars of the day . They had arranged for nice welcome drinks and catered separately for children’s food as well. We were able to make a corner for kids play. The best thing was there was adequate parking in the venue which the guests really appreciated. They also had a bar facility but we did not use . Thanks for making the event a huge success as it was the first party for our little one . Would definitely recommend Ember & Mist as an event venue . I like to thank and acknowledge the helpfulness of the staff and the understanding of Ember - Mist managers.”

“You always get a very warm welcome at this restaurant. I have been on several occasions with an Indian friend who recommends the lovely vegetarian food. This time I took her advice and had the Thali, it was generous, freshly cooked and very tasty with a lovely selection of items. We had faluda mango too, which was a real treat and very nicely presented. Friendly, efficient and caring service from Sabna made for a relaxed and delicious lunch. The murals are great fun! I should love to return soon but I live quite a long way away.”

“My favorite place with Indian cuisine! Garlic naan is amazing, I often ask for extra garlic and it's absolutely amazing! I always take Butter Chicken, full of spices and flavors, and the more spicy Chilli Paneer, and it's great! The portions are good, the prices are very affordable for such delicious food. I have never been disappointed by this restaurant and I visit this place regularly. If you haven't tried it, you must!”

“Having known Arjun the chef from Everest and other places then to hear he is at dragons lounge so since then have been coming to DL for the last year. This weekend they hosted a party of 60 of us and from start to finish Arjun and his colleagues have been brilliant. They catered for all our needs and even last minute changes they didn’t get upset about. The food was exceptional. Chilli Garlic Mogo, aloo papdi chaat to the mains veg tawa etc I have had numerous messages from family members saying the food was great and that they all had a great time. Thank you all at DL for making it a great event. Keep up the great work.”

“Probably the best indian food I've ever had. Pratham was an exceptionally good server who wasn't pushy at all but could recommend good dishes. Also didn't keep asking if the food was OK every five minutes which we appreciated. The lamb chops were a standout for me they were amazing. Is the food expensive ? Very.... was it worth it ? £180 for 3 of us ? Absolutely. There is cheap shite out there and then there is this food which is miles ahead of most things we've tried anywhere in the world. We heard some people complain about the service charge but the service was top notch and worth every penny as was the food. Also worth mentioning the portion sizes were huge we boxed some up and made 3 more meals out of it the next day”

The staff are also very good they made sure all the tables had drinks and frequently topped them up. Cannot fault them one bit and also the chef regularly came out to check on the food. “My wife did my suprise 40th here and this is the first time back since (2 years). The atmosphere is lovely and a real family vibe. The train running along the top is a nice feature too. The staff are very welcoming, attentive and polite. The service provided was excellent and a credit to the establishment. The food was fantastic. We ordered a mixed grill (off menu), fish, naans, butter chicken, methi chicken, prawns, malai broccoli, chicken wings and chicken tikka as well as some bhel. Everything was delicious. Flavours were on point and perfectly balanced. No dodgy food colouring either. The prawns were overdone but this is typical of an Indian restaurant and ended up have a bite to them but the taste was good. We did get a celebration brownie at the end. Was disappointed to see we were charged for this though. Ended with the house chai, it was lovely. Overalls, fantastic food and definitely will be going again and highly recommend.”

“I ordered a takeaway for two special kebab platters around 3pm for it to be delivered to my house at 6pm. They do not have a delivery service. Jamal was super helpful and went out of his way to provide delivery. We received our order grilled to perfection with bread salad and sauces on time. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and we will be ordering again. Although I have been in the area for around 30 years, I haven't ever tried Zara before. I like to support local restaurants, and realise with the recent cost of food price hikes, the owners are doing their best to survive. Online ordering services like Deliveroo, Just Eats and Uber Eats take hefty commissions. I always prefer to order direct and let the restaurant owners make a decent margin such that they are there to serve us. Well done Zara Restaurant and thank you.”

Easily some of the best we’ve had! The tandoori items were beautifully spiced and grilled to perfection, and the masala peanuts were perfect combination of spicy and a great way to start the meal.
