“I found this little place almost by chance-and I just LOVED it. The food was amazing (price was also very low and portions enormous!), the perfect balance between spice and sour (I had their fermented flat bread with 3 different daals and 2 veggie sides). The owner is the sweetest person ever and it is more than clear that this is not a job for him, but a passion. The place is tiny (which is a pro-makes it cozier!) and super welcoming, with decor that makes you truly feel jumping into the Ethiopian culture! They offered me their typical spice tea: a must have! Just a very lovely experience, absolutely recommended if you love simple and authentic things.”

The food was excellent—large, fresh oysters, one of the best Wellington beef dishes I’ve ever had, and an unforgettable fish pie. “We held my grandad’s wake at The Nag’s Head last week and I honestly couldn’t fault them. Artur, the general manager, was incredibly helpful throughout and made the whole process so easy for us. The staff were kind, attentive and respectful, which meant a lot to our family on such a difficult day. They put on a really lovely buffet that was well presented and enjoyed by everyone, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Thank you to Artur and his team!”

“Occasionally go by to get food when I’m strolling around Elephant and Castle. Good and modern, not too cramped, and medium queue. Next to other shops, better than other Sainsbury shops, next to a park, way better than strolling through Brixton Market or East Street. However maybe I’m lucky to have a good experience since some of the reviews here seem to be concerning.. but idk”

“Above and beyond . . . Last Saturday I ordered a takeaway Jalfrezi and a Meat Thali. Delivery was within the hour (even on a busy evening). I found that there were various dishes but wasn't sure that it was a Thali, which is one of my favourites from the Longfield Tandoori. I phoned to ask if the Thali menu had changed. I wasn't complaining, but with no hesitation they apologised and sent a traditional Thali straight away, which arrived in minutes. I've been a customer here for over ten years, but this was exceptional. Once again, many thanks!”

“The Yacht is a brilliant local with a really welcoming vibe. The team are always super helpful and friendly, and the food is absolutely yum and cheap too! Karaoke nights are loads of fun, the weekly quiz is a great laugh, and there’s always a good atmosphere. Love it here and will keep coming back!”

There is a variety of product selections to choose from and are at very good prices. Also, there's a range of services they do, for example, mobile top-up and gas/electricity top-up, and I really recommend everyone to come here if they need something!”

The train station is about a 20 minute walk away - having a car for this quiet B&B is ideal. Cannot wait for our next stay.”
