“The fox and hound is a traditional Irish style pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Beers such as Stella, Guinness ect. No craft beers but good draft. this keeps the pub affordable. Karaoke on a Friday nights and live music on a Saturday. The Wolfe tones often play here.”

“I had been coming to the Dog and Bull for years before the Refurb and always found it charming. I returned in May to a bright and vibrant garden, dubbed 'the wilderness' the new booths were a welcome upgrade and made the space feel substantial! Besides the cosmetic changes, I have grown to love this pub in my home town of Croydon even more than I did before! We've been so lucky to have an amazing summer and it's been great to see this pub so close to my heart packed out with new and returning people each week! I have been raving about The Dog since May and have invited all my uni mates who talk down on Croydon to have a drink with me There, they've all eaten their words and finally seen the charm that Croydon has that is encapsulated in what I think is the best pub in central Croydon! The staff are friendly and make everyone feel like they're in their local and they have live DJ sets, with music I wish more places would play (deep cuts of Garage, R&B, Jungle…list goes on). I wanted to write this review as we always complain when we don't like an establishment but never give praise to environments where we feel comfortable and want to return to so thank you to all the staff at The Dog and I'm sure you'll be seeing me again in the near future.”

“Went for the first time and will be back! Lovely, family run restaurant. Excellent service and great suggestions. We went for a fixed price menu for 2 people and could not finish all the dishes! Sad to see one other review complaining about their pricing. Everything was transparent and we thought it was superb value.”

“We booked for a large party of us to come late after a local event on a Monday night. We were going to arrive at about the time the kitchen was closing. Amy and the team were absolutely brilliant in making the whole thing work. We pre-ordered food, which was waiting for us when we arrived. Staff stayed late especially - which was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate us and could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It was a lovely event - good food, reasonably priced and brilliant staff. Thank you to everyone at The Crown - it was a fab birthday celebration!”

“Called in for a few drinks while in the area. This is a "proper" old school pub which is rare these days! The lady serving was lovely and helped us with some local knowledge of bars in the area. Good pint of Guinness”

“We came here for the buffet. There was a lot of choice, the food was incredible and we left very full. Best thing about this place is that the food is cooked fresh to order. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. I love supporting local businesses like this and prefer this style of buffet to places like Jimmy's or JRC, so we definitely will be back”

“I feel bad for the staff that work here. They have redbull cans locked up, packets of chicken breast locked up. Wine locked up. The staff here that deal with this on a day to day basis need a raise.”

“I visited yesterday early afternoon and had a bit of a medical crisis and I passed out and hit my head in the first isle on the fridge… initially a fellow costumer heard it and screamed for security as I was still out. I came through quite quick which at that point the lady had already had an elderly man come over as well in which they both asked me if I needed anything and I said anything with High sugar like a coke in which the older gentleman went and got for me. Staff from the store and Asian man (sorry didn’t catch his name) came over and checked on me multiple times in which after like the fourth time he asked me if I would like to go to there office and sit on one of the chairs as I was still on the floor. They looked after me well and didn’t make the situation awkward at all. Even after I felt better and went to continue my shopping a lady that works there even offered to hold my basket for me in which I politely declined cause they had already done enough. I wish I knew how to contact Tesco head office to inform them of the amazing service and way this team treated me yesterday. Sorry I didn’t say it at the moment as I was still a bit dizzy/confused but thank you all for your help.”

“A good quality freshly made doner and other grilled items. The only thing is the wait time is usually higher than other restaurants since they make most of foods fresh. Other than that, everything is good and quality is awesome. It is few of the HMC certified shops in Croydon. Overall good.”

“First time using Ranna Ghor. We had one issue - received chicken Tikka Masala instead of paneer. I called the restaurant and they were genuinely sorry and very apologetic and got us a replacement promptly. How they react to a problem is often how I judge a place and this was good customer service. As for the food... excellent all round and we will definitely use again. Impressed!”

“Great Place! We where visiting and some one told us about this Place. We did not have reservations. We did not have to wait long for a table. Food was great and Staff very friendly. Thank you to the Manager ( Andrew). He was sweet and gave us some tips about other things to do while traveling. We really enjoyed there desserts. One is mine... waffles with chocolate & vanilla ice cream, shaved chocolate, and strawberries. The other one is my Husband's ... Banoffee waffles... waffles, banana, toffee/caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream.”
