“I had had a busy day about in Bromley and arrived early from that to a reservation I'd made that day for early dinner (18:15). Prices were properly reasonable for such fine dining. The presentation of each course was spot on, I'd even say en place, buuuuut not my element at this time. The maître d' was professional and courteous. I felt a bit under-dressed but braved through and they brought no attention to this and treated me. At some spirit auguery advice, my royal self reluctantly avoided steak this evening, going instead from chef's suggestion menu, the seared scallops and then sea bass. The scallops were grilled, and tender rather than rubbery as I sometimes 'expect' of scallop. I'd had some grilled halloumi around lunch tiem, and joked that scallops would be right out to pair with halloumi. I think there is this. The sea bass were served seared with skin on, and a sweet tomato salsa, with a potato tower of some kind. Service were quiet and excellent. I did not once feel rushed and I NEEEEED to return for some côte de boeuf or rib-eye some day soon. This should be written. I'll be needing dress better suited. “I have lived in the local area for a number of years and have seen this fish and chips shop operate under different management a few times. I popped in yesterday for fish and chips and sausages and was completely taken by surprise, the shop looks amazing, really really amazing. The family who run the business (Dad and three sons) were all working and were very welcoming. The menu has everything you would expect, and they still serve fried chicken (yum). The prices are as you would expect, no meal deals as yet - but they have only recently opened so maybe something for the future. The chips are delicious... really moreish. I heard once that you can judge a fish and chips restaurant by the chips and they were an accurate indication of the quality of the food. Fish portion was perfectly cooked and larger then expected, batter was light and fluffy, as with the battered sussage. Savaloy had the desired initial crunch while not being dry. I wish I had taken a photo of the place to go with the review. If you live locally have a walk past - looks amazing.”
