“I had been coming to the Dog and Bull for years before the Refurb and always found it charming. I returned in May to a bright and vibrant garden, dubbed 'the wilderness' the new booths were a welcome upgrade and made the space feel substantial! Besides the cosmetic changes, I have grown to love this pub in my home town of Croydon even more than I did before! We've been so lucky to have an amazing summer and it's been great to see this pub so close to my heart packed out with new and returning people each week! I have been raving about The Dog since May and have invited all my uni mates who talk down on Croydon to have a drink with me There, they've all eaten their words and finally seen the charm that Croydon has that is encapsulated in what I think is the best pub in central Croydon! The staff are friendly and make everyone feel like they're in their local and they have live DJ sets, with music I wish more places would play (deep cuts of Garage, R&B, Jungle…list goes on). I wanted to write this review as we always complain when we don't like an establishment but never give praise to environments where we feel comfortable and want to return to so thank you to all the staff at The Dog and I'm sure you'll be seeing me again in the near future.”

The chef is brilliant and the atmosphere is tranquil I would recommend this place to anyone The kısır was delightful and the Adana and chicken shish was spot on and I was very impressed.”

“We booked for a large party of us to come late after a local event on a Monday night. We were going to arrive at about the time the kitchen was closing. Amy and the team were absolutely brilliant in making the whole thing work. We pre-ordered food, which was waiting for us when we arrived. Staff stayed late especially - which was amazing. Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate us and could not have been friendlier or more helpful. It was a lovely event - good food, reasonably priced and brilliant staff. Thank you to everyone at The Crown - it was a fab birthday celebration!”

“I visited the restaurant Frankie & Benny's has in Croydon for the first time yesterday, and I must say it has been a very pleasant experience in all aspects. From the very first moment I put my feet in the restaurant, staff has provided an excellent customer service, especially Moni, who was the one who assisted us during dinner. Her politeness and permanent smile on her face was an excellent start for our first time at the restaurant. Frankie and Benny's menu is also great. You have a great variety of starters, mains and desserts that makes it difficult to choose only one. Portions are quite generous and the price I paid for dinner is perfectly balanced with the quality of food I had. In conclusion, a first experience that will be the first of many more I will do in future. It is totally worth.”

It’s definitely one of the busiest locations I’ve seen, but despite the rush, the food is always served hot and full of flavor. The quality and consistency never disappoint. The staff here are friendly and efficient, even during peak times. A special mention to the manager, Lori – she’s always been incredibly helpful whenever we’ve had any confusion or questions. Her professionalism really stands out. Highly recommend this branch if you're after great pizza and excellent service!”

“I have been passing this place for long time but never tried. Today I tried for the first time. The guy who was serving me was very lovely and asked me what I liked - I said pesto, chicken and mushroom and he made me very yummy pasta food. He even double check whether I liked garlic and I don't and forgot to say so his checking helped me not to have it in my meal. The food was really yummy. The only thing I would have asked next time is not to have pasta so soft but overall, I really enjoyed and the serving person was very nice and professional!”

“I was an extremely happy regular customer, the food is exquisite. Good size portions and the quality is great. I'm very choosey about my food, and they have never let me down. I've since moved to Swindon, and regularly get food collected by family and brought down to me, because it really is the best. If it wasn't 2 hours away, I'd happily pay a delivery charge to get it !! The customer service is second to none, they really take pride in their food and creating the best meal for you. I cannot recommend them enough.”

“Very convenient to East Croydon Station. Like the flat whites. A bit drafty in winter as some patrons don't bother to shut the door when they leave. (Just avoid sitting right next to the door or dress warmly.)”

“I visit this Cafe Nero often and Alex in particular is always attentive and makes the best coffee he is always super focused when you walk in. Today, I walked in after a long day and got a coffee and a cornflake tart even though he wasn’t the one serving me he let me know that it had alcohol in and the other sweet treat didn’t. He is also very calm and patient when i am indecisive some days which he does not have to be! This level of attentiveness is very rare I really appreciate it. Thanks !”

“Nice and quiet spot if you ever want a chilled meal with friends and family. Reasonable prices for food + the garden area is great in the summer. The mixed grill is good deal is you like steak. And they have plenty of other vegan/veggie alternatives.”

“I’ve been to this branch of Starbucks a couple of times recently and it’s been great. My friend is disabled, so parking is very convenient as there are Blue Badge parking spaces directly outside. Access is easy too. The staff are all friendly and you don’t feel rushed, even when it’s near closing time. One outstanding member of staff we encountered was Elaine, the manager, who is incredibly friendly, warm and kind. She was extremely considerate and helpful towards my friend, who needed to access the toilet. Elaine made sure she could navigate her way to the toilet safely and that there were no obstructions in her way. On our way out, just as the shop was closing, Elaine cheerfully called out to say goodbye, which was a lovely touch. It’s warm, friendly and helpful staff members like Elaine who contribute to a positive experience when visiting a coffee shop. Thank you Elaine. You’re an asset to Starbucks. Update: When I first encountered Elaine, I mistakenly thought she was the cleaner as she was mopping the floor. On my next visit she told me that she was actually the manager and had found my post hugely amusing. This just shows what a wonderful sense of humour Elaine has! It also shows how the manager is prepared to do any task that is required.”

“A lovely little town with friendly people and lots of hills. Not a lot to do here so we just used it as a base to travel to other parts of South Cornwall. The harbour is nice but looks overrun with wrecks.”
