“We went on a Friday night for our Anniversary, the weather had been great but we sat inside and it was nice and cool. There was a DJ playing old skool RnB which was a nice touch. The staff were super friendly and we met the owner, who was really lovely and very passionate about the food. The croquette were amazing and very authentic, we also had tacos to start which were delicious. The tiramisu ( which I’m always a big fan of as a dessert) came with a Japanese twist but was inspired and also really delicious. A great spot and well worth checking out for an intimate meal, big party or even a family dinner.”

The Cumberland sausage also makes a solid choice for a main course. Prices are reasonable, around \$30 per person without dessert. Overall, I definitely recommend this place. Just keep in mind that there aren't many servers, so things might be a bit slow — patience helps!”

“This is a great place to get sushi - the conveyor belt is fun but also if you can’t find what you want on it, you’re able to order other items from the menu. The staff are nice and friendly and the only real issue is that it can get a bit busy/crowded on weekends so it isn’t always possible to get the waiter’s attention sometimes. I don’t really blame them because it’s a really busy place and the quality of the sushi is great. It’s definitely worth it for the price and the food is pretty filling. The variety of salmon sushi made me happy and the cheesecake dessert is also quite good. Prawn crackers are tasty as well. Sometimes if you order non sushi items, it can take awhile to get your food (my friend had to wait for almost 30 minutes which wasn’t good but I could see the chefs were very busy!).”

“Go here a few times a week to mainly grab a chicken katsu salad which is 10/10. Sometimes have other food like sweet and sour chicken or katsu curry. Food is always very good and service is normally also perfect. Although lately have noticed service to be getting a little slower. Was waiting to be served for nearly 10 minutes whilst Deliveroo drivers coming in after me were getting served straight away. That just needs improving”

“I am so shocked after reading negative opinions because my one is absolutely opposite so I decided to write a review as well. We order Mr Sushi around for a year now (as soon as they appeared on Just Eat app). Delivery time is like usual when you use delivery apps +/- 45 minutes. Food is always fresh and tasty, soups are nicely warm. Deep fried chicken Yakiudon is life :D I would highly recommend it as we love sushi and we've eaten it in many places. “I booked this Taxi company as they rent out mini buses and I needed a cab that was big enough for a ladder, as I was locked out I had a cheaper idea to avoid the cost of a Locksmith. The cab driver collected the ladder and bought it around here, then he climbed up the ladder, he figured out how to open the window by figuring out a way to get round the safety valve on the window, after he had got the window open , he climbed inside of the house and came downstairs and opened the door for me. What a great cab driver, so kind and helpful. Not often do I find sincerely nice people who are willing to help me out. Thank you very much. Will be sure to recommend SK Travel as often as I can do. “Hanako Brings Japan to Watford When I was looking for authentic Japanese food nearby, a few restaurants came up. But Hanako immediately caught my attention. Just from the Google review photos of their sushi and sashimi, I could see the craftsmanship. The presentation looked simple and neat, not overly decorated, but refined in a way that reminded me of true Japanese style. My Japanese friend and I were so excited that we arrived before the restaurant opened. The owner kindly let us in early, which was already such a warm welcome. Inside, the atmosphere was cozy and felt just like a small restaurant in Japan. The menu was easy to understand with clear English, and allergy information was clearly shown. On top of that, the owner kindly explained some of the dishes to us as well. I ordered the nabe udon and a sashimi sushi set. My friend had the shoyu ramen. The portion sizes were quite big for us, but because everything tasted so good, we finished it all. The flavors were very authentic but also easy to enjoy for people who may not be familiar with Japanese food. If I had to describe it in Japanese, I would say it has a 優しい味, meaning a gentle and comforting taste. We had a lovely chat with the owner. She told us that the tuna sashimi is 本マグロ, which is bluefin tuna imported from Japan. That truly impressed us, and you could taste the quality. Everything felt so fresh and nourishing. What surprised me even more is that Hanako has been open for 23 years. That’s nearly the same age as me. It made me think about how Japanese food wasn’t very common in the UK back then. I can only imagine how much this restaurant has gone through over the years to continue sharing this kind of food with the community. I wrote this review to share my appreciation for the food and people at Hanako. If you’re reading the menu outside and not sure whether to go in, I really recommend you try it. This place is a hidden gem.”

Ordered a takeaway What we ordered: - Chicken Iskender £16.00 Shakshuka £4.00 Halloumi £4.50 Chicken Mix £22.00 They also kindly chucked in some Turkish bread, dips, salad and something extra which I’m not too sure what it was but tasted great. Collected from the restaurant and saved on Uber fees. Food was great and would prob try dining in.”
