“Had a fantastic meal everything cooked to perfection.Had a starter to share main courses and 2 beers, exalent value for the money.Very friendly and helpful staff. Arrived early evening, got a table straight away only a small restaurant, did start to fill up quite quickly. I'm definitely going back .”

“Mix grill was one of the best, good value, can be starter for 2 to start with. Chicken Birayani was superb and I also order chicken curry with bone , I would prefere bit more masaladar with green chilli spiced, like Desi Falvor and, it's says ghee may be more brown butter, Garam Desi Flavour Garam Masla and brunt ghee ! Garlic Naan was superb. Papadam and all relish, dips were fantastic, eveything Desi style, my son love the raita, I love that red spicy sauce and tamarind chutney. What you need with chillied Cobra beer and all of this. See you guys again with all of my friends and family. Kudos to Chef and his team.”

“I ordered a takeaway, which was personally delivered by the manager Who informed me a couple of Items were given for my service. The Food was fresh, hot and full of flavours. On the occasion when I’ve popped in, the staff will always been friendly. I believe it’s the best Indian restaurant in Wantsted.”

“Quite simply the best Indian takeaway in London at the moment. We have been ordering food from here for about a year now and it never disappoints. We try to order different items each time for variety and it's always the same high standard. Flavoursome without being oily. Each dish is distinguishable in flavour from each other unlike other curry houses which tend to all taste the same. The samosa starters can be be eaten with fingers and never leave oily fingertips.the same can be said for the poppadoms and bhajis. Generous helpings of meat in the curries and reasonably priced too. If you love curry than take my word for it and at least try this place once. You won't be disappointed”

“Delicious fresh food. I had the dhokla and paneer pakora. Both were served with chutneys to compliment them. I would come back to try other dishes from their menu. There were extremely busy; whilst I was eating for about 10mins, there was a steady flow of orders.”

“What delicious food and great service. I thoroughly enjoyed everything we had on a night out with the girls- favourites were thr bouncing potatoes and lamp chops! We didn't order individually but ordered for the table ,so we all tried something and this worked well for us. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the only reason I didn't give it full stars for atmosphere was because we chose a time to suit some of the family. I'm told at other times the other times there's a great warm atmosphere. The open view tandoori oven/kitchen adds an element of drama. Well worth a visit.”

I started with the popadoms which were perfectly crispy then tandoor platter. later For the main course, I opted for the chicken chilly and the lamb mince curry , both of which were absolutely divine.The fresh, soft garlic naan bread was the ideal accompaniment, and the portions were generous, and finally they had an amazing variety of ice cream ensuring great value for the price. What truly stood out, aside from the incredible food, was the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that’s perfect for any occasion. The Grand Taj Indian Restaurant has undoubtedly become one of my favorite dining spots. Whether you’re a fan of Indian cuisine or new to it, this restaurant promises a memorable experience that will keep you coming back for more. Highly recommended!”

“The best Indian food we ever had”

“I had a meal here with my family, we have been here before but I am reviewing our latest visit. We had wonderful tasting food, great service, at a reasonable price. We had Tikka masala, chicken Pasanda, mushroom Bhaji and mushroom rice, there were other dishes in our party, but we all agreed that the food was hot and very tasty. We had an issue with the draft beer, but the staff changed it for bottled beer with no problem. A great little restaurant.”

“Babuji, or father in English, is a lovely restaurant situated on the high street of Kentish Town and serves up an array of Indian dishes, enveloped with what feels like homely love as their intent would be. This place encourages customers to eat with their hands, following cultural customs and even going as far as providing instructions with how to do so - but only if you wish to. I love restaurants that incorporate their backstory and they did exactly that with their creative and somewhat witty menu. I went for the bangla bhuna with garlic & coriander naan, masala dossa and mango lassi. Naan could be stronger in garlic taste, but delivered a slight crispy crunch and it was mostly soft. The curry was delicious, well flavoured and seasoned, as well as delivering a bearable kick. Dossa was lovely and crisp. The gunpowder paste was what escalated the spice levels as I progressed through the meal. Mango lassi delivered a good balance of the yoghurt and mango taste with the mango tasting authentic. Very smooth and creamy. A drink that I always default in ordering whenever I’m eating at a south Asian restaurant. It wasn’t busy when I went on a Tuesday afternoon. Food does take a while to arrive, so that should be noted. But the food didn’t disappoint. The guy who was on the floor was lovely and welcoming and seemed passionate about sharing the love of India, which was well articulated within the place with the display of terms on the wall. A local spot that I’d come back to again one day.”
