I first discovered this charming spot in 2020, and it has since become my regular haunt, a testament to its consistent excellence. One of the standout features of Barnet Cafe is the generosity they bring to every plate. The portions are not only generous but also incredibly affordable, making it an ideal choice for both budget-conscious diners and those seeking hearty, satisfying meals. My personal favourite is their mouthwatering steak, a dish that I find myself coming back for time and time again. The quality and flavour are consistently top-notch, and they're cooked to perfection every single time. The fact that they have a kids' menu that's equally impressive is a huge bonus for families. It's wonderful to see a place that caters to all ages. Beyond the fantastic food, the staff at Barnet Cafe truly make you feel like part of the family. Their warm hospitality and attentive service make every visit a memorable one. The cosy ambience adds to the overall experience, making it a perfect setting for any occasion. Barnet Cafe is more than just a cafe; it's a home away from home. I can't believe I never reviewed this amazing cafe all these years, and the photos I'm using are from my first few visits since I just focus more on enjoying my meals these days. “I ordered food here from Deliveroo and I just had to give a good review. I got the dimsum platter mixed for one which had a great variety. I got a spicy beef ramen which was flavourful and actually spicy! Also the portion size for that was really good too, enough for two. I also had some sesame balls which was a nice sweet treat in the end that wasn’t too sickly sweet. Really good quality food and will definitely buy from here again !!”

“A group of us go to the cafe after our Nordic walk in nearby Trent Park. Its run by volunteers, so friendly and nice. The food and drinks are lovely, especially the home made cake.”

“A lovely hidden gem just opposite Sainsburys in New Barnet. Really lovely relaxed atmosphere. Great coffee and even better food. I had Halloumi, mushrooms and poached eggs on sourdough bread and it was delicious.”

“This sort of coffee shop would not have existed in East Barnet Village (EBV) just 15 years ago. Things are changing, and for the better. Such a nice place to come and read, or talk with friends, or bring your laptop and do some work. The coffee is delicious (served at drinking temperature) and they have a girl who can draw anything on the top of it. A drosophila, a seal, a polar bear, a snowman, or a seahorse, a mouse, a house, even the big ball of hydrogen in the sky (the Sun), you name it, she can draw it. EBV is on the up. The only thing holding back businesses is the awful road - the road detracts from the experience of doing anything in the village. With time, this problem shall be solved. Elite cafe. Well worth a visit.”

“I’ve lived around the corner from The Boulevard for 20 years, and that’s exactly how long I’ve been coming here. What first appears like a private club behind frosted glass, actually becomes a mid size restaurant, private dining room and bar recently refurbished. Step inside for a proper Indian menu, not some westernised pretend curry house, many of the dishes you may not have seen before. It’s a great menu, the chefs and staff have been here years and they certainly know what they’re doing. And it’s great for Sky Sports too, what’s not to like?!”

“29/07/2025 The 35 ounce ribeye on the bone was tremendous and my dad loved the escargot so much that he ordered another portion after and our waiter a charming young man Sam provided us with very good service and made us feel more like a friend than a customer keep it up we shall be coming back again much love”

“Megan and her team did an amazing job of looking after us all for my husband’s family birthday bash. We were a large group and were able to have the restaurant side of the pub exclusively for us. “Expensive but delicious, sweet and sour prawn balls and vegetarian hor devours. Only suggestion is to have slightly larger steam holes as it was a bit steamed by the time it arrived. Will visit again for delivery order, ordered on Google Just Eat. Due to price though wouldn't be too often.”

“The most unbelievable Caribbean take away, love this food, keep looking for good places which isn’t the easiest living in Barnet, but usually really disappointed , finally tried here last night and the food was absolutely top drawer, Curry Goat was so good, so much meat (not just bone like some places), and fresh tasting, jerk wings.....rice......all REALLY REALLY good, and this is coming from someone who complains about everything!!! Highly recommend it, can’t wait to finish off mine for breakfast. Will be a regular customer from now on. Delicious.”
