“This is my favourite corner/off license shop, the staff are so friendly and kind and I come here every few days per week in the mornings to grab a breakfast/lunch - this is the only nearby place to my work that has fresh and delicious halal sandwiches along with baguettes, rolls, rice pots etc - I’m always greeted in a friendly manner by the owners they are so kind. I consider myself a regular by now!”

“Sacred has incredible gins, vermouths, and bottled cocktails which truly express the delicate nature their botanicals through the vacuum distillation process. My favorites are the Cardamom and Coriander Gins (and bottled Negroni!) though all of their products are fantastic. The delicate complexities of the gins make them not only work as stand-alone sippers, but also as ways to level-up cocktail recipes. The same can be said for the vermouths, which are quite unique. Additionally, the shop is a fun experience in and of itself, offering a curated set of sought-after whisk(e)ys, mezcals, wines, liqueurs, and other cocktail ingredients. Don’t miss this place!”

“Can't believe I have never reviewed this place. Consistently quality service, music and obviously beers. 8 craft on draught, and cask option plus bottle cans available. Every time we come through this town this is one of the many highlights. Close to trainline which is both Metropolitan tube to/from London and Chiltern Rail to other places etc... Recommended”

“Downtown Liquors is hands down the best liquor store in town! The selection is fantastic — from top-shelf spirits to unique craft beers and quality wines, they have it all. The staff are incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to offer great recommendations. Prices are very reasonable, and the store is always clean, well-organized, and welcoming. Whether I’m grabbing something for a casual night in or a special celebration, I know I can count on Downtown Liquors for quality and service. It’s my go-to every time. Highly recommended!”

“I don't know much about wine, so I asked if they could recommend some white wines that would go great with carbonara and a sweet desert, my budget was £20-£30 for each wine. They were patient, explained, and showed me some wines that would be great for either one. Ended up buying 2 wines for a total of £43, and they were absolutely perfect, we loved the flavours - unfortunately, i didn't take a picture of the bottles/makers. I'm not local to Highbury, but there are no wine specialists in my area, I'd happily make the trip again and again for wine recommendations for my next special evenings.”

“Fantastic concept. Essentially an artisan off-licence which also operates as a bar. It’s stylish, friendly, spacious and stocked with a great range of homemade bottled cocktails and home brand gins in different sizes. We bought a small bottle of the grapefruit gin and he served it with some Mediterranean Fevertree Tonic, garnished with a grapefruit slice. He also sells some locally sourced antipasti options which looked fabulous.”

“This little gem has a massive stock range of all beers, wines, spirits, mixers and more. Certainly, I've never seen such a range. My initial and repeated reason for visiting is the Belgian beer, many of which are rarely seen in the UK other than specialist Belgian shops. Lastly but very importantly the staff are super friendly and welcoming.”

“I'm not sure what all of the negative reviews are about; this is my first Japanese BBQ; I didn’t even know that there was such a thing. I've tried several Korean BBQ's and the prices for a similar selection of BBQ items is compatible. When I arrived at around 15:00 on a Sunday, the restaurant was empty; no customers whatsoever, this normally sets off alarm bells but Japanese BBQ... That's got to be experienced. Our waiter was attentive and efficient, he explained the process of the using BBQ, but I have to admit I did have to prompt him to get the information else we would have had more food stuck to the BBQ grill. He stated that a BBQ serving was suitable for an individual; I would agree to that if you didn't want any starters or side dishes. We also added Gyoza and noodles; I think that it was a little too much, I think that a single platter for one is correct if you haven't eaten for a few days. We chose one selection the chefs choice of mixed meats and one selection of seafood; we ate it all but I felt uncomfortably full afterwards; so much for my plan of a "light lunch". I will eat here again as I love Korean BBQ and this is on par with that with the advantage of not having to travel to New Malden.”

“My friend and I came here for dinner after seeing the great reviews online, and they were absolutely right. We arrived on a Wednesday around 8 PM without a reservation, and the restaurant was completely full — yet the staff kindly managed to find us a table for two. They were incredibly accommodating despite how busy it was. You could really feel the energy from the kitchen — it was clearly in full swing, every dish coming out looked fantastic, and you could tell the cooks were working their hardest. The food itself was outstanding: high-quality ingredients, beautifully balanced flavours, and that unmistakable sense that it was made with care and pride. I’d definitely recommend booking ahead, as it’s a popular spot for good reason. Everything we had tasted fresh, authentic, and deeply satisfying — some of the best Korean food I’ve had in London. Also, a special mention to our friendly host — I think his name was Jerry or Larry (forgive me if I’ve got that wrong!) — who asked to be named in this review to win a bet. Consider this his victory! In short, Parks Kitchen is a gem in Ealing — warm service, excellent food, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended.”

“There aren’t enough good things I can say about my experience here. It’s all my friends have been talking about. Not only was it the best whisk(e)y experience we’ve had. It was a highlight of our London trip, period. Sean S., our host, was awesome. Super knowledgeable and down to earth. It felt like sharing a dram with a friend. We had a blast and are recommending it to all of our friends and family. Whether you’re a whisk(e)y enthusiast, or a casual drinker who wants to learn more about it, you shouldn’t skip this experience. It’s a must!”
