This will now become my goto Turkish even though I live close to yaprak in eastcote I think this is worth the 20 minute drive for the better food. Price is similar. I thought the seasoning and quality of the meat was better. Next time I am bringing my kids to see what they think but I think they will agree”

“There is such a huge variety of options here and every dish I've tried so far has been fantastic. I love that it's both a cafe and a restaurant, and how much the vibe changes between day and night. The staff are warm and friendly, and the seating in the extension has a lovely atmosphere in the evenings. The chicken and waffles is scrumptious.”

“I visited The Old Shepherd for the first time on Saturday evening and was very impressed with everything about it. The decor and lighting help to create a great atmosphere along with the helpful and friendly staff and welcoming locals. The quality, portion size and value of the food was outstanding, I ordered a veggie burger which was the best i've ever been served in a pub and the fries were delicious too. I'm told there's live music now on most Saturdays and the artist playing was of a very high standard. Highly recommended venue worth travelling to.”

“The food here was amazing from start to finish, and the service was excellent. Some of the finest Italian food i have ever had. The spaghetti bolognese was perfect, not tart or acidic. Excellent meal, would very highly recommend. We ate there twice in one week.”

“One of my most favourite pubs in the area. Love the Thai food. The staff are always polite, courteous and very helpful. I have been with friends and also with my kids and the experience was great in all occasions. The atmosphere is great, and even the patrons are nice and friendly. The place is also always spotless. Definitely recommend!”

“Best pub in Croxley. Best beer, friendliest staff and all the locals go here. Never a problem getting served no matter how busy it is. Yes some of the locals do sit at the bar but that is a good thing surely! Always enough staff on. Very popular with regulars and local clubs who choose this for their functions & get togethers. “A great pub in lovely country surroundings. They had indoor and outdoor seating. They came to our table to take our order, but also had an app. The staff are really friendly, it’s clean and roomy. For hiking, it was wonderful to have this pub on route. I would definitely recommend coming here.”

“This place is a hidden gem! A small local and friendly pub with bug beer garden, but a hidden thai restaurant upstairs! The food was delicious and genuine thai, had a chance to meet the chef and she was a pleasure to talk to. We had to take takeaway after we finished dinner, which almost never happens to me. The staff was very friendly, we were served quickly and in general it was a lovely evening. Next time I am in the area, will have to stop for a meal!”

“We held a wake at the pub before it opened at 3.00pm. It was an excellent venue with first class food and service. Arun made sure our requirements were met for the day in question and nothing was too much trouble. Once the pub opened we had a large quiet area reserved for us to one side of the pub for those that needed to stay longer. Well recommended for any private gathering or event.”

“Monday lunch for our small walking group. A lovely welcome from managers Alice and Zoe, and a nice comfortable atmosphere with open fire. The Cock Inn is now under new management and working hard to revive this lovely old pub. Monday/Tuesday lunch menu is not extensive, but excellent quality and “just right” in portion size.
