“Lovely pub in Old Glossop. Stayed for a night on a walking weekend. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious - one of us had a roast dinner with amazing cauliflower cheese. The other two shared delicious tapas, highlight was the ribs and the feta salad. A lovely pub, highly recommend.”

“We stayed in room 214, room was clean a bit on the small side,bedding and towels were clean, bed was firm and the pillows were very firm,not much of a view, we had 4 pidgeons keep in us company outside the window,we didn’t get a good nights sleep because the thermostat which was next to the bed kept clicking all night, quite loudly so we didn’t get much sleep. The soap hadn’t been re filled in the shower, we asked at reception and it was filled, staff very pleasant but overall well worth the money”

“I needed a pump for the hydrolastic to take back to Spain with me. I phoned on Wednesday morning and spoke with a lovely lady who said she’d process it quickly for me. The drinks are way cheaper than the pubs, and it's welcoming, comfortable, warm and friendly. If you're into snooker, there's a table upstairs too.”

Croft are locally based in Glossop, know the area really well and genuinely care about whether the properties they are showing you will fit your needs. I didn’t get the first property I viewed with Croft Lettings but they kept me in mind for their upcoming rental properties and found me somewhere that suited me much more. The team are all lovely and will do their best to respond to any issues quickly. Really helped me during a difficult 3 month period of flat hunting! :)”

“Update: I first reviewed 3 years ago (see below), we live locally and still come here including tonight and again the food was lovely and even my fussy partner was happy with his dishes. Tarka daal was outstanding, chicken tikka tender, breads competently made. Very surprised at the bad reviews, noticed many are takeaway, we usually dine I'm and it's always been a good experience. Staff are also really lovely, we were put off by a really noisy group and they went to some trouble to set up the upstairs for us. Also offered us a bigger more comfortable table downstairs initially, even though it was fairly busy on a Friday night. So what one reviewer said about being made to sit at the smallest table is not the case now. Nice relaxed place to have a great quality curry at a reasonable price. Just to point out to another reviewer slating the food for not being authentically Indian: the restaurant is Bangladeshi, not Indian. The flavours are well balanced and nans cooked to perfection - fresh and fluffy soft with some browned bits. Samosas are large and taste freshly made, definitely above average quality. Fish dishes especially recommended, really tender. I've eaten here lots and with various people, and we've hardly even had a dish we've not been completely happy with. The staff make an effort and have a sense of humour.”

“On Monday 30th June I had to take my cat ( Patrick ) to see the vet. He had a very sore mouth. From the receptionist, to seeing the vet, I was assured Patrick would be well looked after. It turned out somebody had kicked Patrick and broken three teeth. Despair, why? However, Patrick was given the highest care and is now back home, well and being just a lovely cat. I can highly recommend Ashvale, as the place to go if your pet requires medical attention. Keith.”

“Katie is amazing! She was so helpful and adapted her course to our needs. I was able to use all of the techniques that she taught us when I had my little boy. I was able to ask Katie lots of questions and felt very comfortable with her. I had a real fear off giving birth and Katie made me feel confident and reassured! “I could not recommend The allotment bride florist strongly enough. Faye created stunning garlands for my father in law’s casket. He was a very eco friendly kind of guy, so Faye used all locally grown and fully biodegradable flowers. Years later, people still talk about how elegant they were. Faye is so kind and professional, you honestly won’t regret using her amazing service.”

“I know that there have been some issues with this pharmacy in the past. I have been using them for years and I’ve not been immune for the long waits for prescriptions. However, in the last few months there has been a drastic shift in the management of service and for the better. I’ve been getting my prescriptions within days of request. Today I needed an emergency prescription and it was sorted within half an hour. The staff throughout it all have always tried their best to be helpful and friendly - and this hasn’t always been reciprocated by customers. I have always found the staff to be largely pleasant, and I think it’s a shame that they’ve been abused (witnessed) by other patrons. Nothing in life is perfect and we would do well to recognise that.”

“I can't thank Kerry Hollowell from Davis Blank and Furniss Glossop branch enough for all her help and support. My dad died in october and Kerry went through eveything in detail with us, if I got confussed or needed any updates she always ansered quickly and with support. I was devestated when my dad died, I was on cancer treatment and to top it off we live 3 hours away. She dealt with everything and took so much pressure away for me. Eveything was completed yesterday and I am and always will be so grateful to her.”
