Appetizing dishes in Manchester

“Dishoom Spinningfields is one of my favourite restaurants in Manchester. When it first opened back in 2018, it was Dishoom’s first restaurant in Northern England, and since then they’ve set a remarkable standard of both food and service quality and certainly left me coming back for more. The interior is super impressive, cool and unique. Dishoom is based on the old Irani cafés in Bombay, and the interior is so large and feels like no other restaurant in the city. My go-to dishes are the Chicken Ruby with Basmati Rice and occasionally the Gunpowder Potatoes. The portion sizes are generous, and the rich spices of the curry are super good — it’s obvious they use great quality ingredients and seasonings. For drinks, again the selection is vast, with my favourites being the regular Chai and the Mango Lassi, which are both really good. There is always a staff member walking around topping up tap water, so you’ll never go thirsty. The pricing is a little high, but I feel it is worth it for the quality. Matka Holders can also roll a dice at the end of their meal to potentially earn everything for free, food and alcohol included, during certain times. This makes it all fun, being able to put the meal on the roll of a dice. Due to having an allergy, I can scan a QR code on the menu for the latest information, and all the staff members are well trained in dealing with allergies. They’re aware of coeliac disease and the danger of cross-contamination, and always keep my items separate from my friends’ when I dine in a group. Overall, this is one of the places to be in Manchester if you’re looking for good food with fantastic allergy awareness, overall ambience/vibes, food and service quality. It’s a place that you can go for a special occasion or even a quick lunch (although a lunch menu / meal-deal offer would make it even more enticing for sure!).”

“What an experience. The menu changes for each event, but the one we had came with a glass of Prosecco was very elegant The location threw us slightly but don’t be alarmed it’s a hidden gem. The portion sizes were really good considering it’s supposed to be a tasting style menu. Will certainly be returning”

“Some of the best ramen I've ever had. Came in here for a last minuet meal before a gig, incredible service and fast food. The pork ramen was smokey and rich with an incredible pull apart pork joint on top. The chicken ramen had a lighter broth to it but full of flavour and morish. Fried chicken was tender and crisp, felt homemade and cozy. The atmosphere was cool and stylish, felt authentic for a small ramen shop, simple but effective. Would absolutely eat here again!”

“If you're looking for some delicious and authentic Italian street food in Manchester Arndale, then Wolf is the place to be. They offer a variety of options including wraps, salads, and pizzas. I've tried their pizza and it was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful too. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!”

“We had a really tasty lunch. Bao buns, gyoza. ramen, and a desert of fried banana and ice cream - a coffee. Really good. The service was fantastic. I went with an older person who ate slowly. “I asked Ryan's Italian to cater a works event in Manchester City centre and ordered 20 pizzas. The pizzas were delivered on time and hot. All night I was being asked where I ordered the pizzas from as everyone was loving them. Thank you very much for catering our event!”

“Great experience, Zizzi has always been an untraditional Italian pizzeria. Always having new dishes. The staff are really friendly and Rowan helped us a lot specially with the kids toys made my daughter forget about the wanting time of the order.”

“Without a shadow of a doubt, the best restaurant I have ever been to. Visited on a whim last night, booked an hour before they opened and were made to feel welcome immediately. A lovely little place with absolutely fantastic food. I'm not usually the adventurous type when it comes to food, but there wasn't a single thing I didn't finish. I honestly considered licking the plates! Each dish was a masterpiece, and if perfection is lots of little things done right then they nailed it. I cannot recommend the place highly enough, please go and show this little business some support, they truly deserve it.”

“Would highly recommend for its sublime food and friendly staff. Service certainly isn’t ‘fast food’ (possibly still learning the ropes..!) but very pleasant atmosphere to enjoy time between courses. We (table of 4) sat at 7pm Saturday night, and had the bill at 8:45pm and enjoyed 2 delicious courses each. BYOB executed well, with glasses and corkscrew provided on arrival. Food very reasonably priced for what you get. Thanks guys, awesome meal!”

“We have ordered food from Great Indian kitchen quite a number of times and have always been a happy customer. We love their food so much that we opted for their catering service for our daughter’s baptism event. Everyone loved the food and it was a pure delight. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good Indian tea specially their chicken Hyderabadi and Samosa which are almost like Delhi style.”

“We tried A Star pizza this evening and it was great. You can tell they only use great quality ingredients, definitely the best pizza and the only place well be going from now on. Good price as well. “I just happened upon this place as I was walking along the canal at Broadheath. A young couple were sitting on the tow path eating a pizza. “Is it good?” I asked. “Delicious” was the reply. Decided to give it a go. The owner was a delightful fella who is clearly passionate about the food he is serving. Other customers in the place were all there due to “word by mouth”. The menu has the usual stalwarts but also more authentic pizzas too. I had the Friarielli & Nduja. Delicious. The pizza dough was the freshest and lightest that I have EVER had. I felt that I’d had an authentic pizza made by someone who cares rather than a portion-controlled production line made by an employee of a massive company paying minimum wage. A wonderful discovery and I shall visit again. They have a bigger premises in Sale btw. Ciao.”
