“Got there at lunchtime and it was lovely and quiet. I went for the standard carvery and the other half had the chicken burger. The carvery was lovely and fresh with good sizes of meat. The chicken burger was good, apparently, but the coleslaw let it down. All in all a good quick stop off for a lunch that was hot and a good size. The cake slices were huge!”

“With so many options along Liverpool road, this place does seem to stand out in terms of quality. The sauces are really tasty and company the kebabs well. On this occasion, I had a mixed Kebab, and chips, all came quickly and was great value for money for the fantastic portion size. Usually in a crowded market, quality suffers, but this foot was tasty, and hot when it arrived. I have been to this place maybe a dozen times and id say it was the most consistent and for your typical kebab shop style food, the best of the bunch along Liverpool road”

“After moving to Manchester, we’ve never found somewhere that does authentic Chinese takeaway food that isn’t super overpriced until TODAY. Delicious food, big portions (be aware of big portions as we ended up with so much food) We ordered on Friday night and the food was ready quicker than expected and still very hot when we got home. We highly recommend crispy duck pancakes and sweet & sour chicken. 10/10 customer service, greeted by a very friendly lady at the shop and we had a quick chat. It was so lovely finding out that we’re supporting a small family owned business. We will definitely be back.”

“A wonderful pub with fantastic food. Been here a few times and it never disappoints. The owners /staff are attentive and very welcoming. They have a great variety of beers, spirits and authentic Japanese sake and gins etc and also green tea, coffee for the non beer drinkers. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. I’ve taken a few friends and family here and they’re bowled over with the food. My Japanese friend have said it’s the best tempura she has had in the UK. Looking forward to the expansion to the beer garden in the back as well.”

We are used to getting a mail to confirm an order when we have shopped online, but to have one at every stage of the process.. confirmation of order, build begun, delivery dispatch (complete with tracking details).. well, that was the icing on a most delightful shopping experience. “We ate in here this evening and it was the best Thai meal we’ve ever had. Went for the salt and pepper ribs and spring rolls to start. The meat on the ribs fell off the bone and the spring rolls were so fresh. The mains were stunning too, salt and pepper chicken with rice and crispy pork, along with the signature loaded fries (topped with chicken and steak slices and leathered in a lovely spicy mayo, barbecue sauce, fresh chillis and spring onion). It was enough to feed four, honestly the portions are huge. It’s a shame not more people were in, because this place is so nice and the price is reasonable for excellent and fresh food. The service is a little slow, but the lady waiting on was lovely and I suppose may have been helping out in the kitchen. The chef also came out when we were leaving to have a chat with us, who was really friendly and welcoming. Overall a lovely meal and will definitely go back.”

“Helen street chippy is a fantastic chip shop in peel green. Located on the corner on Helen street. Parking is street parking only but I've never had an issue finding a place. The staff are nice. There's a cold drinks fridge at an average price. The chips are lovely. Two types of curry sauce. Always hot and tasty food. Would recommend and I'm a regular customer here”

Their food especially chips (not fries) are massive and crispy and lovely MUCH better than chip shop ones.. imagine chip shop sized but French crisp fried! All food is clean and hot! (not greasy) properly cooked and delicious. And a breakfast for 5.50 is amazing! My new hangout!”

Very generous portion sizes which are a bonus when the quality of the food is this good. As you can see in the pic the sweet and sour chicken melts in the mouth, very generous portions such as the salt and pepper chicken which is our favourite starter, super friendly and efficient staff and very reasonable prices, cannot recommend highly enough!
