“A hidden gem. I bought some take away vegan cakes. Brilliant, the blueberry muffin cake was fab! Update 22/11 - Saw Andrew White in the comedy space. Excellent gig. 10/10 Hot drinks would have been great on this icy evening.”

“Amazing food, great service and unusual idea, all you can eat steak with the system of controlling when you wish to be served again by flipping the card from green to red. We visited last night for the first time and left really full and impressed. This is definitely not our last visit,the next time will probably come for bottomless service so drinks could flow as well. It's not cheap but it is worth the money. Everyone from the staff was very friendly and welcoming, the whole experience was just unforgettable including the deco and music. Thank you for having us and making our anniversary so special. “My compliments to Richard for being so approachable and friendly. He was attentive and interactive as well with the tables. Food is pretty good for a station eatery. Also a good variety of beers available on tap too. For me, it has to be Guiness on tap when in the UK. It’s been 20 years since I had one. Perfect!!”

“This place is five ⭐ stars!! Afternoon event for a Holy Communion! Food, atmosphere and staff all amazing. A sense that they all enjoy their work!! Very clean and probably the best breakfast food I’ve had in years! Perfection!! Value for money also was a 5/5!!!! My son who has autism enjoyed his food and ate it so that’s a big compliment!!! “Been to a few gatherings there such as a christening,wedding reception and a funeral. Brilliant place and all the staff are very friendly. Fully recommend this place for either a family gathering or if you’re out around tyldesley then nip in for a drink.”

“Lit up from the outside this venue is very welcoming. Soft ambient lighting indoors always gives a romantic feel drawing you to go inside. Also the promise of 2 for 1 cocktails might have something to do with it. I have eaten here a few times now and it lived up to expectations in every way. Inside the lighting does seem quite dim but adds to the atmosphere and the decor is rustic Caribbean and this makes you imagine you are in a different country. Everything is brightly coloured and fun. I have been fortunate enough never to have to book in advance but have seen it both very busy and also quite at other times. The table sauces look scary hot but do compliment the food incredibly. Even the toilets represent a beach hut feel. Food has never been fast to come out no matter how busy it is but worth the wait when it does. Also Jamaican Red Stripe lager on tap for as true Caribbean feel. Did I mention the cocktails. Food wise I have tried the Jerk chicken breast and half Jerk chicken. Both made with ghost chilli pepper sauce. Yes it's hot but you can still taste the flavours. Looking forward to my next visit.”

“I recently visited The Old Original for a lovely Sunday meal, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. My partner opted for the Sunday roast, and the roast beef was cooked to perfection — tender and full of flavor, without being pink. I went for the rag pudding with chips and mushy peas, and I must say, the peas were absolutely delicious! (as was the homemade chips and rag pudding).The gravy had a rich, meaty flavor that really enhanced the meal, not bland like some places can be. Plus, the portion sizes were generous, and everything was piping hot when served. The service was excellent, with friendly and efficient staff making sure we had everything we needed. I chose from the fixed menu, and ended the meal with a lovely slice of chocolate fudge cake for dessert, which was a real treat! The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. The pub has a warm, inviting atmosphere, complete with a candle on the table, and the rural setting with its lovely views makes it a perfect place to unwind. While the car park is a little on the small side, street parking is available, so it’s not too much of an issue. All in all, I would highly recommend this pub. The food, service, and overall experience were top-notch, and I can’t wait to return soon!”

“We have got used to the Sunday roast here, a quality of food and presentation far exceeding a pub meal. So last night we joined friends for a Christmas dinner. A full traditional Christmas meal was presented, thick slices of turkey, pigs in blankets, toasties, parsnips, carrots and a smooth dark gravy. This was a Christmas dinner to remember, absolutely spot on. Many thanks.”

“I popped into Sykes for the first time today and had a lovely breakfast with butchers sausages and bacon, perfectly cooked eggs and all the trimmings. The coffee was delish! The welcome was genuine and service friendly, as always from Mancunians. A great place to grab a quality bite to eat, recommended.”

“From the excellent reviews, I was expecting a lot. I wasn't disappointed. The menu contains the traditional tapas options, with the odd twist. Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered 6 tapas between the two of us. This ended up being quite a bit of food. We still managed it though. Some dishes are on the pricey side, but the quality made them worth it. The mushrooms in cream, the pork belly and the albondigas (with cheese) were the highlights. But, as mentioned, everything was delicious.”

This is a really well- run restaurant and nicely appointed, creating a really pleasant environment to catch up over the well presented and really tasty food and well- chosen wine list. The steak, carbonara and lamb are all just delightful. Not the cheapest, but thoroughly worth it. I'll be returning regularly.”

“food - great and super tasteful and well cooked. we ordered some appetisers, the mixed grill and the mixed seafood grill/plate. it was realy good and we filled ourselves too much for dessert. that saffron rice was so good. service - good but can be sorta slow? the food came pretty quick and we didnt have to wait too long. drinks arrived after appetisers which was a little strange but oh wells. no complaints about the staff tho. atmosphere - really nice and pretty. they have a sort of balcony seating which is decorated beautifully. however there was a big group so the place was a little noisy but no fault of the restaurant. overall, really great place and food was amazing. will return again”
