“We had our first meal at this restaurant tonight and it was absolutely fantastic! The service was top-notch, with friendly and efficient staff who were attentive to our needs. A really nice touch was when the chef came out of the kitchen to ask us how our food was. This is something I've only seen on TV before, but it was a really personal and thoughtful gesture that made me feel valued as a customer. The food was also delicious and flavorful. We had pizza, carbonara and risotto and they were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The portion size was generous, and I left feeling satisfied but not overstuffed. We also had the tiramisu and chocolate fudge cake both were delicious. The price of the food is a little bit higher than some other restaurants I've been to, but I think it's worth it for the quality of the food and the excellent service. I will definitely be coming back here again soon!”

“To be honest, this guy makes freaking good pizza. Romana was simply delicious. Thin and crispy dough and lots of toppings. The only downside is that pizzas can only be ordered between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. But on the other hand, the price of the pizza is very low considering its high quality.”

“Nicola provided a buffet for my nephew's 18th on Saturday, I have issues with food, as in I am so so fussy, extremely fussy, I never eat food at a buffet, 1. bread is buttered 2. The cheese is usually grated 3. I don't eat meat, 4. I don't eat anything with pastry, i.e Pies etc cakes Nicola's food was amazing, most of it I could not eat ( that is my issue) the cheese board and crackers was lush, the salad was fresh as was the snacks, I will be using Nicola for any party's we have, hopefully she does Vegan, my granddaughter is only vegan due to medical issues, so the rest of the family did. sorry for the long post,”

“Sue & the team provided a lovely buffet my mum's 70th birthday, plenty of selection. Their service is efficient and will go ubove & beyond to any requests ie dietary, selection, delivery etc. Also followed by calls to check everything is ok etc. Sue takes pride in providing the best customer service. I would certainly recommend. Every guest commented on the quality and variety of the food provided. Thankyou x”

“I visited whilst waiting for a train - the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The menu was clear, and varied with delicious options. I opted for a Jacket Potato with Tuna which was a great size, baked to perfection and served with a lovely salad. This with tea was £6 - great value for money in a gorgeous cafe.”

Their food especially chips (not fries) are massive and crispy and lovely MUCH better than chip shop ones.. imagine chip shop sized but French crisp fried! All food is clean and hot! “I visit here quite a lot with my partner as the food is always great and he just loves the hot chocolate from there. The staff are always polite and great to talk to while you wait, if they are not busy of course serving other customers. It's a warm friendly environment with places to sit both in and out the establishment. If you're on the move they do indeed do take out. The food and drink are always piping hot so you it's going to be good. Just don't do a me where I've been to impatient and drank/ate it before it cooled down.”

“We only order delivery or pick up, so I can't say much about the sit-down service, but the atmosphere is pleasant. The food is phenomenal and always scorching hot, extremely reasonably priced for the quality, and we've always been greeted warmly. One of the few places in the area that does paneer as a main dish, which is a big plus in our veggie family!”

Very generous portions too which delighted hubby. We went for lunch and there were tables available without booking. “The best fish ’n’ chips in the area. PERIOD. Anybody saying the Kingfisher on Parrin Lane is better — and the other comments — listen up. Yes, they are super friendly at the Kingfisher. They also close at 8:30, not the 9 p.m. this one does. And you can’t complain that this no longer takes card payments because neither does the Kingfisher, but this at least allows bank transfer — so basically it takes card payments. Also, saying it’s expensive? Last night I got a LARGE FISH & CHIPS with a pot of GRAVY and a pot of MUSHY-PEAS (both of which are far superior to Kingfisher’s) for £11.20. I think that’s very fair. I’m posting the pics here so you can see how amazing they are — and that’s after going to Lidl and walking 10 minutes home. Hot, delicious, and not greasy. 10/10. Give them a try at least once so you KNOW for yourself. :)”

“Had a meal for two last night. Well worth the money. Chose keema madras nicest I've ever tasted and i can moan if it's not right. Second choice chicken tikķa masala beautiful a little bit too much coconut for me but was lovely. All in all the food well worth the money. Definitely ordering again x”

“My friend and I visited John Gilbert on 19th December for lunch. Service was very good (by Casey). Both our meals were very tasty and served lovely and hot. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. A nice relaxing ambience. I would definitely recommend this pub both for food and service.”

“Always spot on re food. Recommend the beef in black bean,the meat is so tender it melts in your mouth, best egg fried rice I have ever tasted. Salt and pepper chips are v good Portions plentiful and price reasonable. The shop itself is spotless inviting and staff always smiling. Highly recommend.”

“I had heard good things about this place from a friend and as I was travelling home from work my son amd I decided to swing in. We were made to feel very welcome, the staff are really lovely and the food was top notch. Needless to say we left feeling very full and happy. They have a number of good deals during the week so doesn't hurt your wallet either. We will see you soon”
