“Good pub but no music better if there was music and entertainment. New houses facing try and get younger and new people in the pub. Always been a good pub gone in for many years needs bringing in to the 21st century. Still plenty of characters go in the pub but it is an older type of persons pub so could or needs more to attract new people in. Just needs to attract more people. Pub is old school like a proper pub should be.”

“Looking for a place to enjoy the night with good people then this is the place. Free pool on Wednesday for those who enjoy a good game with a pint. They also have a team who have won a lot of trophies as well as the darts girls so well done for that. They have karaoke all weekend and then karaoke competition on a Monday which is fun but also you get to see Hyde for some of its good talent. Not often a place for trouble and any time there is any then it's dealt with immediately to allow the good people to enjoy their night. Also run by a brilliant landlord and landlady who are friendly to everyone and join in with the fun.”

“Amazing! Nicola is a the exact person you want to see in a play centre/restaurant. Me and my children were welcomed from the front door (first time) and showed the play area, made conversation and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. Nicola is clearly a child friendly lady (surprisingly not all play centre staff are!) she was happy, energetic, polite, funny and looked after everyone there even as it got busier. A massive relief to feel like this when you have a child who can be easily overstimulated and the reaction of new adults and environments can have a huge affect on behaviour. Tilly was so happy and couldn’t wait to get in and also spoke to Nicole as she clearly felt comfortable. Great play area for my 3 and 1 year old. After attending many play areas the staff make a huge different to wanting to return! Nicola told us about the sessions we will definitely be attending for SEN. “Diane the member of staff was very friendly and polite and allowed us to change tables for the amazing view over Manchester. There was no Turkey available on the Christmas menu, but there were plenty of other options available so we chose Gammon. The food was excellent quality and so delicious. We love the food and ambience here. A very nice place to eat and drink for any occasion.”

“Made an order for delivery and realised I’d made a mistake. Called shakes and bakes 20 mins later thinking it’d be too late and they were happy to amend the order for me. Really lovely staff who work there, just genuine people. Desserts are always 10/10, sweet diner is our go to most weekends!!”

“My mother regularly visits this cafe with friends so took me along too as I'm up visiting. We've been twice together now and I just love the food and cakes here! The lady owner makes the sweet treats which is impressive and the cheese toasties are something out of a dream. All melty inside and crispy on the top from the extra cheesy goodness added there. They make nice hot drinks and everything is reasonably priced (toasties £6 and very filling). It's a lovely place to sit in the park and the regulars are friendly. No one seems to hog tables so we have been able to sit there both times. However, in busy times there are plenty of nice benches in the park to take a coffee and cake. Lovely place and the ladies are nice and friendly, even when rushed off their feet. They always say hello to my mum by name (and to others I've heard) so they obviously care about their customers.”

“I went to Java after parkrun with a couple of park running friends. It was recommended by the team at Hyde parkrun and I can see why. There’s a really good range of food and drink available, and the prices are very reasonable indeed. We each had a really tasty, freshly baked pain au raisin, and one friend had the scrambled eggs on toast. This, along with three hot drinks, came in under £14. The service was first class, and they kindly replace one of the drinks I managed to spill. There’s only limited seating inside, but plenty of space outside. Highly recommended.”

“Hosted a games night for our running club in the free function room upstairs. Such a beautiful room with original features. We only had chip butties but they were really good, we even got some salad & cakes thrown in and the napkins were super cute! Lisa was super helpful when trying to organise. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be visiting again! Thanks for a great night!”

“I have been going to this Cafe since my college days 6 years ago when it used to be a caravan and now it is a shop and the food still tastes amazing and consistent from the very first time trying it out. Bangla Burger is the best with rich flavour and spices and is very filling. I would highly recommend this if you are in the Hyde area/town.”
