The chef came over both times making sure everything was OK and had a chat when we had finished our meals, bar staff are lovely and welcoming too. “Stayed in a nearby cottage and popped in here to watch the Rugby and have food and drinks. The lady behind the bar was fantastic brining us fresh drinks whenever we were running dry. They were on a reduced menu at the time for food but still enough to choose and was all good. Locals in the pub were all very nice too.”

“Went for Sunday lunch and had a fabulous meal. It’s a set menu and had all 3 courses for £27. The food was well presented, hot and very tasty. You can’t fault it and I would highly recommend a visit here.”

“Live around the corner from this pizza takeaway. It's not been open long so tonight we had the pizza takeaway and a garlic bread. First off ,real home baked pizza dough, second was the box was bone dry,no dripping grease under the pizza which was absolutely beut. The choice of garlic bread and pizza toppings are amazing. All in all.10/10 from me. New owners should be proud.”

“This is a generally busy Nero coffee shop located near Manchester Royal Hospital and Manchester University. It is very close to the Whitworth Gallery. I like the coffee in Nero coffee shops. It is generally consistent. The staff in this particular branch are always friendly and helpful with good service. They keep the place tidy. My only criticism is that like many Nero Coffee shops the furniture is looking somewhat tired and in need of a refresh.”

“I recently visited the cafe place and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by friendly staff and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The interior is beautifully designed, with a perfect balance of modern and rustic touches. The staff really knows their stuff when it comes to food – you can tell they take pride in what they do. I also loved the music and the general vibe of the place – perfect for a relaxing break or catching up with friends. Highly recommend if you're looking for great coffee and a welcoming environment. “It’s in a very nice location inside a bookshop. It can get a bit crowded during Uni lunch hour but the quick and friendly service makes up for it. The place is also clean. I got a pistachio latte which was delicious. Looking forward to visiting again soon.”

“Have visited this place on a number of occasions. It is a Sam Smith's pub so they only sell their own brewed beers but the prices are very reasonable. Friendly staff and I guess that mainly older patrons (like myself) will enjoy visits to this pub. There is an open fire during the cold weather. A traditional pub that you can access from the main street by descending steps.”

“Only went for a couple of hours to my local Slimming World group which used the vault as a temporary place to hold it. But, I was so impressed by the decor and the cleanliness of the place that I would definitely go in again in a social capacity. It's spotless.”

“I have visited this pub for over 40 years and it has had its ups and downs. It is most certainly now on an UP. The Holts bitter is consistently good and the Landlord and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. Nothing not to like.”

“We have just moved into the area and decided to take a chance on this place after a long day of unpacking. What a wonderful evening we had! We were greeted and served by Luize, Kate, and Sue who were all very warm, welcoming, and inviting. The food was gorgeous and exactly what we needed, and the atmosphere was great (I'm an 80s child and to hear lots of the music of the time was just the icing on the cake for me). Firmly think this will be one of our favourite places for the foreseeable future! Thank you guys for making a very hard day that much more bearable!”

“Only a small selection of cigars but the selection was very well varied. Good mix of new world and Cuban and a good mix of well established and not so well known brands. Lots of pipe and pipe tobacco, too. The proprietor was very knowledgeable, gave very detailed and clear advice based on some vague tastes. Really happy places like this continue to exist.”
