Sightseeing in Manchester

“29/07/23: spent a lot of time in Chorlton Green as a kid, but this is my first time here with wife and dog. A great combo. Good bar, small choice of craft ale but fantastic atmosphere, great view, friendly staff. Could be in some sunny Europeans bar!! Definitely worth a visit!! Ordered the Picasso Box for food from Truth Box Kitchen. Was great and filling! Chicken strips, mac n cheese, fries, corn on the cob, chicken wings!”

“We had a great time here, we stayed in Cabin 1 and it was so peaceful. We had our 7 month old to think about and this worked well as we could have dinner and relax in the evening and she could sleep in the cot in the bedroom and we wouldn't disturb here like we would in a hotel in one room. Staff were lovely and friendly and the site was clean. Hot tub was great to chill in the sunshine. Lovely walks around Dovestone Reservoir just a stones throw away. Have already recommended to family and would absolutely recommend again particularly for young families who like lots of countryside walks and exploring the local area.”

“Country park in Royton with toilets, picnic areas, playground and cafe (only open weekends which is a shame) There's a largish car park but also parking on the approach road (if there's space).Lots of routes that are colour coded. Some are quite steep but if you have the strength to push a pram/wheelchair uphill the trails are wide and in good condition - mainly tarmac or hardcore. There are plenty of narrower trails off these for the more adventurous.”

“A really great place for a walk especially with our dog. We tend to do the llama farm loop then back along the canal towpath towards Swizzles before heading towards the Rock Inn & down the path back to the riverside park. Other alternatives include keeping on the path past the llama farm to Cowgill farm then cross the road to the footpath under the railway line up to a bridleway which gives options to go to the road & down towards Hare and Hounds or carry on to Big Stone...(see photos)”

“A magical Christmas Grotto at the Trafford Centre. Children write their letters to Santa post them and then meet the main man himself. It was well organised and the girls loved it!”

“One of the best cafe experiences I have had in Manchester. Friendly staff, wonderful tasty food and is very popular with a lot of locals in Middleton. Everyone I work with recommends this cafe for the welcoming service and homely feel. & I can tell why. You truly feel wanted and welcome when you come in and to top of off the food is just as good as the staff.”

“Stayed at the Sycamore Inn a few years ago. We were visiting from the United States and had put together a family reunion with 25 members of my British family. Sammy and her staff were fantastic! Food and service outstanding! Rooms are very nice. On a drive by last year we popped in to say hello and Sammy remembered us. We were going to visit again in a few weeks and found out the heartbreaking news regarding the upcoming closure. I cannot thank Sammy and her team enough, you definitely will be missed. “Visited for a family wedding in July and was afforded a fantastic family holiday at a well kept, pristine and peaceful stay near enough to walk where needed and close enough to the calm of the forest and canal for nature morning walks with excellent coffee! “Brilliant park, so much to offer. Crazy golf, tennis courts, bowling green, children's play area, nice gardens, train ride, toilet facility and shop. Lots of benches around to sit. Great for dogs, nice stroll or run.”

“Great place! Proper bar vibes. Great staff. The food, we tried a few things. Ribs are a 10. The pie was 10 the burrito bomb was a let down. Over cooked short rib and undercooked dough. However was so stuffed from the pie and ribs. Would I go back. Yes 100%.”

“We love coming here for the hot pot! We spend a few hours chatting, eating and drinking tea and always have a great time! The soup is flavourful and the options are very good! Lots of fresh vegetables and meats - The staff are always very nice and attentive and the manager/owner is great! I reached my personal best of a measly 11 plates and my partner almost got on the leader board with her 37 plates! ( she's going to try again at Christmas!)”

“First time ordering from stacked and OMG this is deffo our new takeaway! Everything was perfect and fresh, 3x different meals ordered and all thoroughly enjoyed 2x burger meals with the flavoured chips, a hotdog and portion of fried chicken springroll (think it was called that). We will definitely be exploring the menu! Thank you for the amazing food and service. Delivery was quite fast considering its all being made fresh, it was piping hot when arrived.”

“A superb spot for a relaxed Sunday lunch, where dogs are very much welcomed. The food offering is to a very high standard, whilst not the lowest prices, the cost reflects the quality of the produce. All the staff I encountered were excellent and appeared to be very enthusiastic about what they are doing. Cleanliness couldn't be faulted in the public areas.”

“Visited this place as the reviews on Google looked amazing. We arrived for brunch and we were greeted with a very friendly member of staff. The place was about 10% full, which was great for us! This place has a good selection of breakfast/brunch options, as well as many savoury, desserts, ice cream flavours and hot/cold drink options. I eat vegetarian, vegan and halal food. this place is 100% halal. We got the Berries, Pancake Stack, Turmeric Latte, Brioche French Toast and an Iced Latte. We did have to wait long for our order, however it was well worth it. The berries pancake stack that I had Was deliciously light and airy. I could tell it was made fresh. The menu did not mention the addition of chocolate sauce on the pancakes, however I wasn’t fussed about this. It was actually a nice addition to the dish. The turmeric latte was also tasty, and made me feel nice and warm. As turmeric does not properly mix properly with liquid, there was some turmeric left at the bottom of the mug, however I didn’t mind this. Overall, we had a very positive experience at this place and I highly recommend it to friends, couples and families!”

“Absolutely amazing! So close to the train station which obviously is so nice We stayed in room 6. The room was lovely and clean, excellent variety in tea tray (oat milk option as well!) and still very spacious, especially for a budget option! Couldn’t have been more happy! Manager who gave us the keys was so friendly and nice. All in all amazing stay! Lovely to have the shower in the room as well (came with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which was all very good quality and smelt vvv nice) Couldn’t have asked for better! Even came with ear plugs but we had no issues with any noise :) thank you so much!”

The team were awesome about when we could check in and out and helped us at every bit of the trip when we needed anything.”
