“It's a nice section of the River Bollin, shallow in areas that means you can paddle and the dog can get in and have a drink.”

“A pretty little gardens, great in all seasons, especially autumn when all the leaves change colour. In spring the flowers are beautiful and vibrant. Good place for a short walk with the dog, although dogs are kept on leads which is good for nervous dogs or puppies.”

“It's a fantastic park with something for everyone! The area is huge and well-maintained. There's a lovely playground for children, picnic areas with barbecue facilities for families, and clean toilets that are free to use. Parking is reasonably priced—£1.50 for 2 hours and £2.50 for a longer stay. One of the highlights is the large lake with beautiful views, perfect for a relaxing walk or just enjoying nature. Highly recommended for a day out with family or friends”

All the staff at Dolly Dimples were so welcoming made me feel comfortable from the get go! I loved having eyelash extensions - they make such a difference and got many compliments, Mine were done by an experienced lash technician Ebony brilliant she was, and I didn't need to use eyeliner and found myself wearing much less make up in general. Will definitely be returning and definitely recommend to everyone well done girls!”

“My other half got me a mum-to-be massage here for my birthday and it was just wonderful. Calming lighting and music, gorgeous smelling oils and amazing all over body massage that relaxed me for hours. The facial was great as well - lots scrubs and lotions and my skin felt so fresh and soft afterwards. I can be a bit sensitive to some creams but not so much as a blemish this time. The whole 90 mins was just pure luxury.”

“Plenty of parking at a reasonable cost. Great fun for adults, teenagers, children and toddlers! Scenic views, a small farm with helpful animals handlers who are happy to answer questions, well-kept grounds, boat rides, decent-sized play areas for children of all ages, a cafe, a resident ice cream van and charcoal pizza options. A good place to enjoy the great outdoors - especially on a sunny day!”

“A well kept, clean campsite. I didn't notice much road noise, although you will get the odd plane going over. The camp is set in a wooded area, so the phone signal will be poor.”

“I like it here. A medium sized pond with a view up to the hills, on a quiet gravel road. Sometimes the cows come down to the water's edge, or the mist makes the whole scene gorgeous. Mallards, tufted ducks, coots, the occasional goosander, heron and kingfisher. Flocks of geese in the fields often. Swans nest here in the summer.”

“A beautiful park with lots of easy walks around a gorgeous lake ,there is a large car park and nice clean toilets. A great little cafe and an ice cream van in the summer. A great place to visit all year round.”

“Such a beautiful and well kept park that we went before and after the pub lunch! Well worth the drive from Manchester City centre. The dog loves it and so does the grown up child who loved a quick go on the swings!”

“Brilliant park, so much to offer. Crazy golf, tennis courts, bowling green, children's play area, nice gardens, train ride, toilet facility and shop. Lots of benches around to sit. Great for dogs, nice stroll or run.”

“Nice area for walk, picnic, and get together. Views are awesome, 3 tracks for walk, including one middle of the lake. One side lake and one side river. Nice view of mountains and forest from parking side of lake. Lot of sitting places. Parking available 0.9 £ per hour, need cash or through App. Need some maintenance and cleaning.”

“Spent a nice sunny Sunday morning here and had a really good time. Our dog was absolutely enjoying the space! We unfortunately didn't find an accessible path down to the river so that was a disappointment, but I'm hoping to be able to go down to the river the next time around. Definitely recommend a visit to the park. It's very well kept and serene.”

“Had a great walking experience at Alkrington Woods Nature Reserve. Beautiful trails, peaceful surroundings, and plenty of fresh air. It’s a lovely spot to relax, connect with nature, and clear your mind. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy quiet walks and scenic views!”

“A great location for a family walk. There's a free car park and small visitor centre/cafe. We did a full loop around the water before playing at the park. There were horses and donkeys in the field next to the car park and the kids enjoyed going up to the fence to say hello.”

“Excellent Food & Service. The food was excellent! The menu is very good and caters for everyone. Highly recommend the cheese and onion pie and the BBQ beef brisket sandwich. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Excellent service!”
