“Awesome place for a walk and to see some top railway history really nice area.”
“Went right from the carpark for a cycle ride. Walked to the canal later Will visit again and cycle left. Love these old rail track rides. I'm very nervous on the roads so this is a fantastic alternative.”
“A lovely park with lots of options for children to have fun. We had 6 children ranging from 9 months to 8 years and all found something to do. Parking is reasonable, as is the kiosk. They enjoyed feeding the ducks, the bike track, play ground and the sand pit. More benches on the sunshine would be useful.”
“Nice family park - I liked it because of the central lake and it's tucked within a residential estate. Cute.”
“Lovely place to stop off after a long walk and dog friendly great selection of food and cakes and very friendly people”
“This is a GEM! One of my happy places. The grounds are very well maintained and it's a delight to walk around.”
“Lovely walk, choice of routes with miles wide paths an option on muddier days, or over dirt tracks when weather better. Beautiful views, not ever too busy like dovestones can be. Lack of bins is my only issue, so occasionally see dog poo bags hanging on bushes, which is a shame.”
“A lovely traditional park with lots to see and do. The park has good play areas for the little ones which includes a water fountain play area in the summer months. A lovely coffee shop in the centre of the park with an ice cream van present near the play areas for most of the warmer months. There are also bowling greens, a duck pond and aviary with various types of birds to look at. Worth a visit if you're in the area and an excellent way to kill a few hours for free.”
“Really nice park. Great for a picnic. So quiet and tranquil. Loads of wildlife, butterlifes, dragon flies and newts. Lovely stroll on a beautiful day.”
“Fantastic place if you want to spot aircrafts takeoff and land. If you want to experience the fastest passenger plane on earth, they offer many tours of concorde. I would recommend platinum tour if you have time and money”
“Very Nice Place to relax. Kids, Young People and Adults also can visit here. There is playground here where kids can experience the outbound training activities. There is duck tank and kids enjoying to feed them. Walking path available along the duck tank and inside the park. Enough grass land inside the park. A lot of parking space available. Entrance is free. Ice cream van usually parked inside the park and the cost is bit high which is around 5GBP. Overall recommended place.”
“Queen’s Park in Bolton is a gem for families and individuals alike, offering a delightful blend of tranquillity and fun. This well-maintained park is a haven for children, boasting an impressive playground with around 15 engaging play structures that spark joy and creativity. From slides to climbing frames, there’s something to keep kids entertained for hours. The park’s serene atmosphere makes it equally appealing for adults seeking a peaceful stroll or a refreshing run through its scenic paths. A charming café sits conveniently next to the playground, perfect for grabbing a cuppa or a snack, though it requires a short walk to reach, adding to the park’s relaxed vibe. The lush greenery and open spaces create an inviting setting for picnics, leisurely walks, or simply unwinding. Whether you’re a parent watching your little ones play or someone looking for a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle, Queen’s Park delivers. The park is clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed, making it a fantastic spot for all ages. I highly recommend Queen’s Park to anyone in Bolton or visiting the area. It’s a wonderful place to create lasting memories with family or enjoy some quality time outdoors. A true community treasure! Recommended?: highly recommended.❤️”

“I loved the walk with my dog good for them to be off lead they love new places”
“Great Park for the kids, plenty to do and enough seating for the adults.”
“Easily my daughter's favourite park, two nice and spacious playgrounds, plus i used to play here when I was young so sentimentally it's the place to go.”
“I took my dog today for the first time and we both loved it, we were there for around 2 hours and could easily have spent longer. It is pretty much all flat and there are lots of main paths to follow but we took the smaller paths through the wooded areas and through the middle of the fields instead so my dog could be off her lead exploring more. There were enough people around to not feel isolated but not too many that it felt crowded. I've never been before today and I already can't wait to go back and find new routes!”
“Nice park. Lots of things for everyone. Great for dogs, lots of sniff spots and places to run. Park entrance needs a bit of tidying up though if anything.”
“Lovely place. Very clean especially for a public park. 2 nice fishing lakes which are gin clear. The cafe is very reasonable for a coffee (£1.60) for a proper coffee) bacon butties cooked fresh and lovely, helpful staff and regulars. I'm actually a bit reticent about giving it a good review as it's so good I want to keep it to myself. Current fishing prices: Day ticket £5 for 2 rods £8 for three available from the cafe or the bailiff. Membership is also an option at a very reasonable rate. Enquire at the cafe for details.”
“A lovely place to go for peace and quiet, a picnic and a stroll. It's lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, even if only for an hour or so. Could do with more picnic benches in different areas around the lake. Only complaint is irresponsible dog owners, not picking after their dogs.”
“Beautiful place. A large play area for the younger ones. Sand too, zip line, tennis field and plenty of walking, dog friendly.”
“I have Visited Etherow County Park and Cafe with a close friend, we walked around and did some sightseeing and taking in the breathtaking views, Summer Sun and fresh air. Its a lovely place to walk, relax and escape from the world. The cafe was a lovely place as well. With good views, great value for money on food and drinks. Definitely would visit again.”
“I come here often as I live in the local area. It is a lovely park with lots of greenery for young people like me to relax and get drinks at the shops nearby. It also has a good playground for younger kids, and a football pitch and tennis court for some sports. Really good.”
“My daughter's class's end of year party was held here...it was Amazing venue, can't fault the staff and location. Five Star Highly recommend from having a party or just popping in for a cuppa.”
“What a serene beautiful environment… I love it there, so Quiet and peaceful”
“Great location. Friendly greetings from barge owners, cyclists and walkers along the canal path into Whaley Bridge and New Mills. The views were spectacular even on a dull day. The Navigation Inn was welcoming, and dog friendly, but best if you keep them off the seating as the path can be muddy. The landlord looked after the beer well and there was plenty of choice. We both had the pie of the day and we're very happy with our choice. Lots of meat and super chips and the cauliflower and carrots were cooked to perfection. The gravy was superb ***** 5 stars. Our young waitress was very friendly and polite and overall the evening was a lovely experience. On our second night I had Bali chicken which again contained lots of meat with stir fried veg in a sweet sticky sauce, and my husband had fish and chips. Again the beer was good. If you enjoy walking or cycling while looking at gorgeous scenery then this is definitely worth a stay although we were in our motorhome. It's free to stay if you inform the landlord if your vehicle reg and go in the pub for a few drinks or a meal. Believe me it's worth it.”
“Really Loved going there as I have heard so much about it through you tube channels Daft monkey, days of horror and Martin Zero. Check out their channels.”
“Lovely wee park. Nature gardens, benches, monuments, big playground for toddlers to primary age. Very clean. Lots of dog walkers.”
“Visited while staying in Manchester with my daughter & grandchildren. Introduction of a lovely little cafe with seating is a bonus”
“A park near M60 with a few on-street parking bays. The park is clean and so relaxed to walk around. Also, there is a tree trail in the park and you may find birds and squirrels in it.”
