“Sarah and the team do a great job looking after our two dogs. It’s clear they have real affection for all the dogs in their care. They are also funny.”
“My pup River has just had the best morning of his life so far, he was picked up and taken to a large secure field were he ran and played with all his new doggie friends. He was brought back safe and sound, exhausted but very very happy, thank you so much Jo and Dennis your amazing.”
“Stayed in one of the lodges and cant recommend it enough. Clean, modern, great views and of course a hot tub. All the facilities you'd expect and more. Can't wait to visit again. So peaceful and quiet. Felt like you were in the middle of nowhere amd it was very private, despite having two other lodges next door.”
“Really enjoyed staying here for our return journey. Couldn't ask for any more great hosts room fully equipped with everything you could need and in a nice quiet location. Host went above and beyond to pick us up from local pub after going for a meal. We will definitely be returning again”
“Just came back from a stunning weekend away at Glan Glwyd Isa for a family wedding. What a venue, what a fantastic long weekend we had. We stayed at the Llyn Clwyd cottage with three adults and two children and we were very comfortable and well looked after. A safe, secure, quite, rural location for an absolutely beautiful picture-perfect venue for a wedding. Couldn't be happier with how kind the hosts were, how comfortable and homey the space was in general. Highlights for my daughters age 4 & 7 were the guinea fowl, the ponds, the hot tub, fishing (and only catching tadpoles!), exploring local Moel Arthur on foot, and just relaxing in the beautiful countryside. Totally wonderful experience. I was worried about the long drive (from Cambridge UK) with young children but we paid for the M6 Toll Road was went right along and we made great time both to and from. Absolutely would reccomend.”
“A beautiful, mystical place, filled with a variety of rare species, and unique habitats. Once on the Heath, it seems much, much bigger from the inside, you can get lost amongst the trees and ponds.”
“Multi sport complex about a mile and a half from St Helens town centre. I went to watch a football game. The site caters for a few sport and keep fit activities. A bar is also on site.”
“Great experience for younger children. The kids first roller coaster and dingy down a slide - they both loved these two rides. My 7 year old was more entertained than my 9 year old on some of the other climbing activities but the two speedy rides mentioned above made this a great day out.”
“Stopped off for a meal after days bird watching at Martin Mere. Glad we'd booked a table as place was really busy. Nice welcome when we arrived and service was efficient without being obtrusive. Generous portions and the homemade steak pie was delicious. Very reasonable prices too. Will be back.”
“Car park is at the top of the hill accessed from a narrow public road. Views from the park are magnificent. Areas below the top of the hill were very boggy and require wellington boots to access.”
“Lovely wander , we chose the river walk, which our new dog "molly" loved. Other walks take you into woodland.. Our walk started in the ample Carpark and was well sign posted.. Seating benches are plentiful, cut outs along the river bank are ideal for our young pup to get to the water for a splash about.. People swimming by the bottom bridge was a surprise, but also shows the water is clean.. Footpaths are well kept and clear, prams,, scooters, bikes, mobility scooter friendly. Areas off the footpaths have been left uncut on purpose to attract birds and wildlife.. By the main entrance is a cafe, picnic tables, gift shop, toilets and play area.. Parking is just £1 all day, if Carpark full, More parking is available on the entrance road.. Disabled parking is by the shop.. Dog walkers, joggers, ramblers and cyclists will enjoy it here. Plenty of room to roam and enjoy a day out.. Would come back to room more of the woodlands....”
“Love it here so much and right on my front door step!”
“What a beautiful peaceful place. Didn't know it existed. We were taken here by a friend we were visiting in the area. Boats ducks swans and even A heron were amongst the views. It was A beautiful sunny day too which made it even better. There's a cabin type thing for food drinks ice cream. The strawberry ice cream was amazing. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.”
“Great place to walk or just let the kids play in the trees. Rock climbing in the quarry if you know what you're doing. There are some lovely walks from Pex Hill into the village of Cronton. Quite a good spot for photography too!”
“A nice little walk with plenty geese and ducks to see. A small children's park there too.”
“Well kept, lovely and spacious park. Lots of events, clearly excellent ranger team. Café food is basic but nice enough for a quick pit stop, the prices are very affordable, cafe staff are lovely and efficient. Definitely recommend visiting here. The only negative is that on event days the toilets by the cafe are not cleaned and stocked frequently enough so can be unpleasant. On a normal day they are a bit dated but clean.”
“Fantastic place for a walk , and free parking.”
“Nicely laid out site next to station. Nice easy walks to local farm shop, Chinese Resturant, pubs and Delamere Lake & Forest. Lovely cafe at Delamere Station. Great for exploring Northwich, Chester & Manchester.”
“Excellent in every way - apart from perhaps the chap in the café shouting at a Dad and his young child for riding their bikes in the park. OK, rules are rules, but chill a bit, man.”
“Wonderful off the beaten path campsite. Great for decompressing and a great night's sleep. The sites are large, grassy, and hard surfaces available. As soon as we arrived and had a look round, a young man came by to ask if all was well and to point out the water spigot. Because it's off the beaten path, bring food for your stay. I didn't see a washer or dryer, but that's not always needed. The bathrooms were very cozy, and I loved them! It felt like being in my grandma's bathroom! Nothing fancy but clean, and everything worked well. I would definitely stay here again. Also dog, sheep, cow, geese, and duck friendly!”
“I went here with my dad and my brother for a small walk and before we knew it we were on a huge walk we were going through forest's walked by the lake and went on the small park near the car park overall it was Really nice”
“Good size field and woods to keep out the sun for dog , gets waterlogged november to April though”
“We visited the garden on bank holiday Monday (May). What a stunning garden and a must visit for cottage garden lovers. We stayed for nearly three hours and walked around the garden twice (even though it was raining) as there was just to much to take in on the first round. Drinks and cakes available in the garden as well which just made the experience even better. The owners are also a delightful couple and happy to give gardening advice. We left with a list of new ideas for our garden and we are now looking forward to revisiting in summer. Highly recommended!!”
“Great place to walk around and see the estuary. There are plenty of birds around. I saw Canada Geese with chicks. It is easily accessible via car and bus. There is a car park, although, I have to say it requires a major rubbish pick-up session. It is easily accessible by bus and the bus stop is quite near.”
“A diamond of a pub. We ate today enjoying the sunday lunch and a steak. The Sunday lunch, beef option, was absolute top notch. The beef was cooked lovely and was a generous portion. With a fantastic choice of veg and more gravy when we asked. My personal taste is to have my meals piping hot and unfortunately it wasn't really hot but this is my personal preference so no compliant. The steak was cooked to perfection and although I wasn't sure about the very chunky chips they were delicious. Again personal preference is that a Peppercorn sauce should have a peppery kick it was very mild. Again not a complaint just my personal preference. Would highly recommend booking prior to visit as lots of people were unable to get seats due to it being, deservingly, very busy. Would definitely recommend.”
“Lovely caravan park out in the countryside. Would like to stay here.. I came here to fit a satellite dish for a customer.”
“A nice place to let the dog have a run off the lead. Not big (unless I missed a bit) but safe.”
“Wonderful place to walk the dog. Very peaceful early morning and full nature. Great place”
“Great place to take the kids as there are swings nearby. A good place to walk your dog or if you just want to relax then visit the rose gardens.”
