“This was our first experience at Cromwell Cottage. We enjoyed everything about our time here. Our food was cooked perfectly for us - hot, fresh & the steaks to our preference. Staff were attentive, professional, friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Atmosphere was relaxed & happy. Myself & my husband were able to have a conversation without having to shout across the table to each other. We will definitely visit again in the future.”
“Diagnosed that turbo needed replacing on our Motorhome, unfortunately delivery took longer than expected from Italy, but was fitted in 2 days after being received. Amanda was really helpful and informative and kept us up to date with what was going on. Thank you”
“Terrible place for most people, however I loved it. Right up my street.”

“Absolutely stunning and peaceful estate, perfect for a family day out. The grand tree-lined driveway creates a beautiful first impression, with free parking, clean facilities, and a welcoming tearoom offering drinks, cakes, and light meals on the terrace. The grounds surround Castle Ashby, a magnificent Elizabethan-style mansion built in the late 16th century, later enhanced with classical architectural features. Its historic presence adds depth and elegance to the entire visit. A short walk from the entrance takes you to the orangery, built in the 19th century in a refined Victorian Italianate style. Inside, you'll find a tranquil pond with fish, lush exotic plants, and classical sculptures that match the era's aesthetics. Nearby stands the medieval Church of St Mary Magdalene, connected by a lovely woodland path that leads to an 18th-century terracotta bridge. Just past the bridge, there is a covered observation hut with two large benches and an information panel to help you identify local fish and bird species in the water below. Continuing your walk, you’ll reach a charming small animal zoo—undoubtedly the highlight for many visitors. The meerkat enclosure is a joy to watch, and you’ll also see parrots, goats, pigs, ducks, and tiny monkeys. After leaving the zoo, the path leads through a lavender-filled alley and loops back toward the orangery. The full visit takes about two hours, and bringing a picnic blanket and snacks is highly recommended. The grounds close at 4 PM, and entry is £14 per adult, which is well worth it for the history, nature, and relaxing atmosphere. A truly memorable and enriching experience.”
“Absolutely loved it! The shop has amazing prices on the fishing rods, equipment and even sturdy clothing to go with. Me and my father will always return!”
“Lovely nursery, with a great selection of plants (and Xmas trees in Dec). Food is good in the cafe, and staff are fantastic”
“10/10 for me. After hearing about it Vision Nutrition and then first going to the shop, Jak was amazing with help of new supplements for me to help my training. He is very knowledgeable in what will be good and bad and the effect of either and what to expect from any outcome, I have recommended Vision Nutrition to many of my friends to check out as for me I couldn’t ask for anything better. I was clueless with what I was getting in to and now I have more knowledge and preparation for what I can do going forward with my gym life. I would also like to mention that Jak is also very warm and welcoming when simply going in for a purchase or if you need to just talk to someone. Thank you for everything so far!”
“Took my my mum for afternoon tea today. The food was really very nice and plentiful. The staff were welcoming and very kindly moved us to an outside table as we found it too warm in the room where they had first laid the table. I felt it was good value and we couldn’t manage to eat everything so requested a box to take the rest home which the staff provided. The garden centre itself is quite small but does have a decent plant area, lots of pots to buy, a pet shop and a small gift shop. They do have a lot of summer houses and garden furniture on show. They also have animals eg rabbits, guines pigs, ducks, chickens, goats and a large tortoise and you can buy grain to feed the goats. I would definitely recommend the afternoon tea and the rest of the menu looks good as well.”
“This is by far the best B and M store. The trolleys are right by the entrance (unlike the Rushden store) staff are unbelievably helpful, helped me load my car when I bought too much. Also the layout is much better than other stores”
“Really good food. Serves kebabs, pizza, fish, pies and sausages all for a good price and they're pretty generous with their portions, especially the chips. All of the ingredients are fresh too.”
“Treated my mum and partner to an authentic Thai dinner. When returning they both said how nice everything was. There were special mentions for the tom yum soup, duck pad Thai and pad king prawns with coconut rice. Excellent all round.”
“B&M home Store is located out the centre of town on the london road. set on the old st johns goods station yard there is good parking. spaces can be on the tight side with a few disabaled parking spaces by the Store. If you use b&m you will know what they sell with the aisles being a bit tight getting around when the staff are restocking the shelfs the carpark is shared by other nearby stores”
“Nice store to shopping. Parking is little bit congested but inside store you will find good deals.”
“Good store, love the garden centre which has really good value plants. Loving the tropical ones that have been available recently at absolutely bargain prices. Lots available if you catch the store just after new deliveries.”

“Shuckburgh Hall Deer Park (private estate) can be seen by anyone from the public footpath which crosses it, of course the deer keep their distance and it seems they can smell your approach, but that makes the glimpses of the deer more precious. There is a tall gate to pass through at any of the entrances. Parking: by the church in Lower Shuckburgh and there is a footpath, or you can walk from Flecknoe village.”
“nice walk here and nice facilities too - took my daughter who loved in there”
“Very helpful when I need a new pond filter.”
