“Very tidy and tastefully decorated”
“Lovely house. Well equipped and comfortable.”
“Amazing place good prices reccomned staying”
“Excellent homely accommodation. Lovely breakfast. Wonderful hosts.”
“We had a lovely stay at The Bothy. The cottage was faultless, the best we have ever stayed in over forty years! There was a lovely welcome pack including a lovely jar of Stephanie's Marmalade (I'm sure both the Queen and Paddington would have given the Thumbs up!!) So good meeting John really friendly and helpful with information. If you are looking for accommodation you'll not find better!!! Looking forward to returning :)”

“Very handy location just outside winchester. Nice clean property with everything you could want for a stay over. Friendly owners who are very welcoming and happy to give some advice on places to visit. We had contact with them right up to our stay and after. Nice local pub just a short walk down the road too. Highly recommend this place.”
“Great location on the edge of a small village in the forest. The apartment is very spacious and well appointed. The host is very friendly and helpful and included some essential food and treats for us which was a nice surprise. The lounge included a set of board games, playing cards and books for all ages which helped during the bad weather.”
“Lovely cottage, excellent location”
“Absolutely lovely b&b, Camilla is a fantastic host, great location, very convenient for walking in to Lyndhurst...”
“We have an excellent weekend stay in Blackdown Views. It certainly has the ‘wow’ factor when you arrived, nestled in tranquil countryside. The house itself was really well equipped with everything you could possible need available for the kitchen, as well as well stocked cleaning products and complimentary mini toiletries in the bathroom. Everything was really clean too, we couldn’t fault it. There was a small issue with the hot water but this was very quickly resolved with the help of Justin. We’d thoroughly recommend staying here, and are already looking at when we can re-book to visit again!”
“Excellent suite with good amenities and a short walk to the cricket, definitely would use again.”
“Lovely clean apartment. Well equipped and close to everything we needed. Parking was useful but its also really close to the train station. Thank you Jacek.”
“Fantastic place to stay, loved the theme and the big bedroom had an insanely comfortable King size bed”
“Great hospitality, clean room and everything you need for a self sufficient stay! I will be returning soon!”
“Charming cottage with garden. The perfect place for a retreat or calm respite in the New forest.”
“Lovely cottage. Lovely surroundings. Lovely area.”
“Very good for a short stay. Almost in the city center, parking right outside.”
“Very good welcomed experience, to be recommended”
“Well equipped kitchen with modern sharp knives, which is so important when you are trying to prepare a meal. And the pans are the very best. Microwave,, fridge f freezer, dishwasher, oven and hob, all good very very good.? The cottage is warm friendly and inviting much the same can be said of the owners Katriona and Nigel.”
“An excellent accommodation for our visit to the New Forest area, an ideal location with everything we needed. Lovely property, very clean with attractive gardens. We were made welcome by our hosts, who were very helpful. There was a great choice for breakfast. We would certainly be happy to come back.”
“Loved the accommodation as it had all the facilities any home would have. Comfortable bed, great kitchen with all the appliances. Lots of storage. Loved the bathroom with the spa whirlpool bath and strong shower. Great location for the New Forest as only across the road outside the accommodation. Lyndhurst village a 10 minute stroll up the road with lots of nice shops and nearly all were dog friendly which was a nice bonus. Paul the owner was great and said hello one day, just checking if we had everything we needed. Definitely going to book for next year as ideal place for a lovely holiday.”
“The hotel is very modern with one of the best gym on site.”
“Lovely selection but to expensive for the likes of me!!”
“From the moment we arrived, this has been perfect:- Sandy had a baguette, butter, eggs and milk (we got in a bit late) waiting for us 'just in case we needed a bite'! The flat is beautiful, neat as a pin, georgous, fresh and clean with a sweet kitchen, large bathroom, cozy beds and did I mention the sheets are crisp cotton and smell yummy! the views out the windows are spectacular, we walked (100yards) to the Greyhound for a beer and dinner, shopped at the market , had breakfast at Coffee Darling then spent the day cruising/walking all over town. Sandy and Peter were great, right here if we needed them and very kind and helpful. I can only imagine we will be back! Thank you Sandy and Peter for jump starting our European Summer holiday!!”
“Dogwood is a very well designed cottage within the larger building containing Buttercup Cottage as shown in the main listing photograph. The cottage I think is a recent conversion showing very high standard of design and workmanship with a modern kitchen and bathrooms all in immaculate condition and spotless. The bedrooms are well designed and comfortable and the modern radiator heating system keeps the cottage very warm and cosy. Wifi worked flawlessly and fast and the modern log burner in the lounge was easy to light and control. (more logs available in the local Co op in Downton a couple of miles away) The hosts Claire and Clive live nearby and were good communicators and unobtrusive. The welcome pack and flowers were a nice touch and appreciated. Dogwood is situated on a narrow twisting lane with little traffic thus giving tranquility to the stay. Redlynch is situated a few miles from the border of the New Forest and within a few minutes drive you can enjoy the unique landscape of the forest. The EV charging was an appreciated feature and will become an essential in years to come. Overall you will not be disappointed with the cottage and the hosts - everything is to a very high standard. In keeping with transparency in this review we do have a complaint with Sykes Cottages who manage the bookings. When I originally booked the cottage through Sykes I made a genuine mistake with the day of arrival. I contacted the booking department within 45 mins and explained I had booked it one day too early and asked them to amend to Saturday arrival. In due course a reply came and informed me that the date cannot be altered due to "system limitations" I replied asking what were the system limitations? There was no answer. I repeated my request and explained the situation carefully. There was no answer. I can only think that either Computer Says No Or Sykes Cottages do not understand what Customer Service means? If Booking.com and all major hotel chains allow time limited flexibility then why cannot Sykes Cottages? This is no reflection on the cottage or the hosts as can be seen in the above review. I will however be avoiding Sykes Cottages for zero understanding of the mistake and ignoring my two subsequent emails”
