“Visited here for a spa day to celebrate my birthday. The spa is very small so we only booked for a 4 hour session, worrying we might get bored. However, the time absolutely flew by and we wished we had longer! We had the mill wheel back massage, which was excellent. We also booked in for afternoon tea, which was delicious and very generous portions. Would definitely recommend.”

“first time visited, arrrived 1:50pm on Wednesday, all desserts are £5 only. the service was good and the food that we ordered were tasty. buffalo chicken wings almost charged £1 per wing. the confit belly pork, steak pie and sea baa were delicious. both crumbles and sticky toffee pudding with custard were values for money (£5 per dessert on wednesday)”

“We booked a table for 10 plus infant to celebrate my partners’ 60th birthday. What a fantastic decision that was. The staff could not have been more helpful. The food was fantastic and extremely good value. I contacted them in advance and they made a delicious birthday cake to serve at the end of the meal and even put up birthday bunting. Could not recommend this inn more highly!”

“Love this cafe - it has a nice upstairs area with more seating (including some comfy chairs and sofas). I have had sandwiches and oatcakes here in the past and both have been good. Tea is always really nice here - they have a loose leaf tea which is very good. The cakes are excellent too, definitely recommend. The only improvement I would make is to speed up the food service a little (not too much, doesn't need to be super fast), but the food service is very slow so you can't go there if you're in a hurry!”

“Lovely cafe, the cakes and coffee are very much recommend. Very good size menu with lots of options catering for various dietary requirements. Very friendly staff. Very quick service too. Gift shop has lots of treats and a good variety of gifts. Very large area outside for enjoying the sun and relaxing with large greens for playing games and a nice children's park. The car park is pay and display.”

“Called in and ordered 4 takeaway Sunday Lunches. The pub was busy, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating.Had a drink whilst they were being prepared. They were well packaged, stayed warm in transit and tasted delicious.”

“We stayed in our canper van in the beautifully laid out car park. Paying to park overnight gave us a voucher for 10% off our restaurant order which was brilliant. The food and the beer were really good, the indoor eating area was cosy and the staff were lovely. We'll definitely be back.”

“I have been going to Monty’s Fish and Chip Shop in Leek Market Square for over 15 years, and I can say with complete sincerity that it is one of the best fish and chip shops in the world. From the very first time I discovered Monty’s, I knew it was something special. The quality of the fish and chips is consistently exceptional—the fish is always unbelievably fresh, encased in perfectly crisp, golden batter that is never greasy. The chips are spot on every time: fluffy inside, just the right amount of crunch outside. Over the years, I’ve brought countless family members, friends, and even my students here. Every single person has agreed: these are the best fish and chips they’ve ever tasted. What makes Monty’s truly stand out is not just the food, but the genuine care and passion of the owner, Keith, who takes enormous pride in his restaurant. Whether you’re sitting down for a proper meal or grabbing a takeaway, you’re treated with warmth and excellent service. I’ve sampled fish and chips all over England—including many famous seaside spots—but nothing comes close to Monty’s. In my opinion, it is perfection in every way. If you try it yourself, I am certain you will not disagree. This place is a true gem, and I feel lucky to have enjoyed it for so many years. Highly recommended.”

“Three of us went for food and to watch the line music. Nothing disappointed us. Friendly accommodating staff, great music, delicious, piping hot food. Two of us had steak & ale pie. Suet pastry topped bowl, loads of tasty meat and gravy. No need for an extra jug. One of us had their beef burger, so big it had to be dismantled! Lots of chips and fresh veg, we had 2 extra veg sides too. Nothing to complain about, just wholly recommend. Meals around £15 each. Sides about £3 each. Will certainly be going back for more!”

Good prices on drinks, has great entertainment nights like Karaoke etc and overall, just a great place to go to relax and hang out with friends. Pleasant, polite and helpful staff. Car park and a fairly short walk from the lake. Don't miss out on riding on the narrow gauge trains. Recommended!”

Time spent conversing and paying attention to my son and even let him put pictures up within the restaurant which made his day. Food excellent as always and great hot selection.
