βSo helpful and friendly, full of smiles. nothing is to much trouble and the rooms are lovely, beds very comfortable. Definitely worth the trip. Definitely go againβ
βExcellent food and top notch pub management. Very friendly and welcoming. The menu is pub food, no pretences, just good, honest traditional food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The landlady was very welcoming on arrival and made us feel like we were special. Would definitely visit again.β
βAbsolutely lovely hotel. The manager could not have done enough to make us feel welcome and settled. Our room was stunning so comfy and it was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend for its great value and charm.β
βShort version: Fantastic B&B to which we'd happily return. Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming and personable and were very happy to help us out wherever they could; in my case, using the warm, dry, shed to replace a tubless bicycle tyre which had given up on the idea of retaining air inside it. The room was great and everything felt 'just so'. It's unashamedly at the more premium feeling end of the market and worth every penny of our stay there. Special mention must be made of the breakfasts which were spectacular. The continental breakfast was vast and included fruit juice, cereal, croissants, fresh fruit and toast. There is also the (additional charge) option of a Full English which is fabulous, although it may mean you don't eat very much until rather later in the day...there isn't a huge amount of plate showing between the food. Bonus points must also be awarded to the choice of putting peppercorns on the mushrooms. Pro tip 1: if you're after a cooked breakfast (and I'd urge you to at least try it once), it's a good idea to let someone know the night before so they can be prepared. Pro tip 2: Steve and Andy's local knowledge is excellent, both in terms of the eateries, but also the small roads to avoid so I'd recommend taking advantage. I did a Google check on one of them and it'd be ... interesting ... to take a car down there, especially as you're highly likely to meet a tractor coming the other way.β
βRecently got married here and we had a perfect day. Carol was very involved with organising but was never in the way. Nothing we wanted was ever any trouble and the planning process was smooth thanks to the staff. Brett who runs the marquees and wedding side of the business was incredible and again very accommodating. Lovely family and great place. Would definitely recommend staying here for a holiday as well as a wedding as the house is incredible and has everything you could ever need.β
βKarina was the perfect host. She arranged early check in for us to store our luggage ahead of a wedding, she left some cute thoughtful touches in the room for the bride to be, and delivered breakfast early for us. She also arranged for some property to be posted back after we left it there. I would 100% stay here again if I was in the area. Especially to see her lovely dog Ella again! Thank you Karina β

βWhat an amazing stay, Julie's hospitality from when we arrived until our departure. The room was spotless, the bed super comfortable even the sheets had a fantastic fresh smell. The breakfast is fit for a king, I couldn't finish it all but was really tasty. The shower was powerful with plenty hot water. If your in the area its the place to stay.β
βVery nice place to stay. There isn't a play park near the cottage and the garden is very small, if you are visiting to be out the majority of the day then I would highly recommend.β
βExcellent club site, very peaceful, lovely setting. Good for walks and cycling. Brian & Jane are really nice and very helpful.β

βCouldn't fault this B & B at all, the setting is out of this world set in beautiful gardens, so quiet and relaxing, there is ample walking straight from the front door, the breakfasts are fantastic with endless coffee and tea along with home made bread for toast. Nicky the host goes about her business with a lovely welcoming manner and Massie the dog is always available for you to throw a ball in the garden. 10 out of 10 all roundβ

βA group of us, from Fenton Chess Club, went for our annual Christmas meal. The food was excellent as was the service. I would certainly recommend it to my friendsβ
βwe stayed in the triple bed room for two adults and child, clean room and bright with bathroom, all self service, code at the front of the accommodation and a code at your room door. Slept well in the massive comfortable bed.β
βFirst time staying this week, very easy to check in, all details sent in a text. Good sized room, en suite, comfy bed, small kitchen inc hob and microwave, kettle, and basic cutlery/crockeryβ
βEnter stay. First time visiting for an afternoon tea. Was very impressed with the interior and the Christmas decorations. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table in the window. The afternoon tea didnβt disappoint. There was a good variety of sandwiches and the fillings were very generous. The scones were delicious, the only niggle was that there was only a small pot of jam between people. The cakes were lovely and the chocolate pot so rich. Will certainly come again.β
βLocated about 15 minutes walk from the town centre this is a modern premier Inn with Aircon and plenty of parking (payable) as there is extra parking underneath and behind it. Friendly helpful staff, well run restaurant for breakfast and evening meal if wanted, but also lots of restaurants within walking or short drive distance. Buxton is well located for visitors to the Peak district.β
βIβve been wanting to stay at the Enchanted Village Treehouses at Alton Towers since theyβve opened, and as it was a friends birthday, 8 of us pooled together to stay in one during Oktoberfest during September 2023. Iβm not going to soften the blow β this is one of, if not the most expensive accommodations on-site at Alton Towers, but was the price-tag worth it? I think it was! First off, once booked, we received all the normal confirmations as you would expect. What was nice however is we received a phone call a few days before we checked in from a very friendly woman, who explained everything we would want to know about our stay. It was a very nice personalised touch, and got us excited for the trip. Upon arrival, you get 2 reserved parking spaces at the Alton Towers Hotel which we took advantage of. As check in was at 2pm, we headed into Alton Towers in the morning and then headed back to check in. There is a specific Enchanted Village Treehouses check in area in the Alton Towers hotel, where youβre met by a member of the team who give you all the details youβll need, keys and tell you how to get to your lodge. Once the paperwork was done, we headed to the lodge. The Enchanted Village area is car free, so we grabbed our bags and headed to the lodge. The host who checked us in stopped by to show us how everything worked, and again, this very personal touch was greatly appreciated and did elevate the experience somewhat. Upon entry, the Treehouse was impressive, with massive high ceilings and big windows overlooking the forest. There were lots of little details throughout the lodge such as little βfairy doorsβ, books for children, mugs with hot chocolate and biscuits, as well as an XBOX with games. As it was our friendβs birthday, they organised a really lovely treats hamper, including sweets, popcorn, some Wickerman goodies and a bottle of Prosecco β it was a really lovely surprise and one he hugely appreciated. The highlight however was the hot tub on the terrace overlooking the forest β it was fabulous and, in my opinion, made the price tag of the Treehouse worthwhile. There was something quite special being sat in your lovely warm hot tub sipping some bubbles overlooking the forest. The bedrooms were fairly small, but as we were staying just the one night, we didnβt spend a huge amount of time in them. As part of the package, we also got 4 Fastrack passes per person for The Smiler, Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Minetrain and Wicker Man. These do change throughout the year so the rides may be different, but this was a great bonus as it was a busy Saturday on the park. As part of the package we got breakfast in the Crooked Spoon. Iβve left a separate review of my experience at The Crooked Spoon as this was very disappointing, and did leave a sour note on the end of stay β but I feel that the Treehouse itself shouldnβt be penalised for the poor experience there. Overall, as a treat for a special occasion, the Enchanted Village Treehouses are worth it. The service, perks and location really do make a difference β and the wonderful hot tub is the cherry on the cake.β
βYet another excellent takeaway delivered by one of their very friendly drivers. Hors Dβoeuvre for 2, Salt and Pepper King Prawns, Chicken and Mushrooms in Black Bean Sauce and Egg Fried Rice . All very tasty and hot.β
βBrilliant place, went for work. Loads of parking, very clean. Food fantasticβ
