“Probably the best pub in town (Newcastle-under-lyme). And it doesn't sell Calsberg (good)....”
“Lovely staff who always pay special attention to the doggies! Thankyou!”
“The Crossways Pub in Newcastle-under-Lyme is a charming local establishment that captures the essence of a traditional British pub. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, it quickly makes visitors feel at home. The pub offers a good selection of ales, beers, and spirits, catering to a variety of tastes. The food menu, featuring classic pub fare, is well-prepared and satisfying, making it a great spot for both a casual drink and a hearty meal. The decor is cozy and nostalgic, adding to the overall appeal. Occasionally, live music and events add to the vibrant community feel. However, it can get quite busy during peak times, which may affect service speed. Overall, the Crossways Pub is a delightful spot for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy a traditional pub experience.”
“Lovely Pub, seating area outside”
“A superb, stylish, cosy modern ambiance with warm, friendly and inviting staff. My Mum and Dad kindly took me there for a birthday meal and the entire experience was delightful. The menu was so good I found it extremely difficult to make a choice but when I did, the food arrived in a timely fashion and was absolutely delicious. They clearly have an excellent chef/team of chefs because the standard of the food really was excellent. Each course was of an exceptional quality and was certainly able to justify the price range. The white chocolate cookie dough with caramelised bananas, ice cream and toffee dessert was, in both mine and my Mum’s opinion, one of the best desserts we’d tasted in a long time. Truly divine. The staff were the epitome of professionalism, attentive and friendly; willing to engage in a bit of banter as well as providing excellent service. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. It’s well worth the money.”
“The food here was absolutely beautiful, the portion sizes was just enough. I had the liver and onions and my partner had the steak pie and they was just so tasty. The staff was very friendly they certainly know how to provide great customer service. With attending to your every needs. It was so lovely aswell to just eat and not get disturbed to get asked "how was your food" whilst you got a mouth full because they really don't need to ask it anyways as the food was just mouth watering. The atmosphere was so calm and relaxing the place cosy and warm and just so welcoming. If I could rate this higher I would. Thank you for a lovely meal we will definitely be back.”
“Great food and service Loved the Guinea Fowl with Orange & Cranberry Sauce The veg was generously sized and al dente Hats off to the chefs ! Fantastic variety of Unique Ales and Wines I’m not sure who sourced all of these ales but they’re very resourceful lol I loved the Bitburger shandy ( low alcohol but very fruity taste ) Will definitely revisit soon Ps the High Leigh locals are so so friendly as well”
“Great food and lovely country pub, had a delicious steak and ale pie followed by a brilliant apple and raspberry crumble with custard ! Very tasty food and good value portions.”
“Always a brilliant selection of beers/ales. Great, friendly atmosphere too.”
“I didn't eat here so cant comment but very cute bar ... all for supporting small businesses”
“The food here is lovely and I think it's just about the nicest beer garden I've ever been in - incredibly pretty. Well worth a trip.”
“Beer always well served (every time we have visited), prices clearly displayed on a TV screen. Refurbished decor and plenty of real ale options available (black country and other breweries). Serves cobs and pork pies.”
“Amazing pub which pops up out of nowhere. Good friendly service and banter and food is good old fashion English grub. Get in there.”
“Superb pub, great choice of regular beers and lagers along with constantly changing guest ales. Always a pleasant atmosphere and warm and cosy . Occasional live entertainment and regular monthly bingo and quiz nights, a very sociable pub to visit that specialises in a proper country pub style hence no food just a great local that’s well worth a trip out for as well.”
“I had the 16-hour smoked ribs here, and what a delight! The meat was beautifully tender, with that deep smoky flavour that comes from real slow cooking. The char and bark held their own without overpowering the natural porkiness.”
“My wife and I visited here for our wedding anniversary and we loved it. The staff are really friendly and polite. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. We loved the little "Snug Room" we sat in. Very cosy! Would definitely recommend for a drink or meal. They have various specials on too, like curry night. Will be visiting again in the future!”
“Excellent club, live local bands on Friday and Saturday nights, Quiz night on Thursday. Has small dance floor, sitting area, standing area and a pool room. It's usually £2 for non- members and free for members, easy to become member Jan- Jan membership starts but can join at any point in year. "Cosy little club". Staff so friendly”
“We went for Sunday lunch. The service was good, the pub decor is really good and they have a good selection of cask ale. The food was great but a little disappointed that the veggie Sunday roast was just a mushroom…”
“Fantastic little place, with a great selection of beer and an outstanding Thursday night quiz (one of the best we’ve ever been to!). Everyone was super friendly and looking forward to coming back soon.”
“Always love coming here with my family, great food, drinks and atmosphere. Service is exceptional and the food is absolutely delicious. Always good to see my friends here. The beer garden out back is a beautiful sun trap in the summer, very chilled and peaceful.”
“Popped in here for a random pint of Guinness bit worried it might be cliquey but met with very friendly staff and people enjoying themselves and good banter the the pint of Guinness is top quality I don't know what the food is like but if it's like the Guinness it's going to be tasty and fresh .”
“Excellent estate pub with brilliant landlord & landlady, always go the extra to help the community locally as well as welcoming those who aren't....”
“One of the few traditional pubs, always good atmosphere , good choice of drinks , landlady very friendly”
“I'm giving this five because it's such a lovely atmosphere and the karaoke nights are fantastic. Although I haven't been able to visit so much lately you are guaranteed a good time. If anything little small but that can't be helped. It seems smaller area because it's so popular on karaoke. It has two sides to the bar. I'm not aware of food served here though”
“Didn't eat here but have had the food recommended by several friends. Lovely large Beer Garden, bright clean interior. Both the landlord and landlady were very welcoming and friendly with good sense of humour. We will be visiting again. Visited today for Sunday lunch. We both chose the Sunday roast beef. The presentation was very good, the vegetables were fresh and cooked well, the beef was succulent, very tender and flavoursome. We said we would like all of the veg on offer,so we received Mashed potatoes, Roast potatoes, green cabbage, peas, Broccoli, cauliflower, parsnip and carrots. We received a gravy boat each, which tasted really good, and meant I had plenty to fill my Yorkshire pudding with. We are definitely going to come here for meals again, and we will be bringing our family with us. Ps. I had eaten some of my lunch before I decided to take the enclosed photo.”
“Superb, friendly, welcoming, well run pub. Set out correctly to maintain social distancing but still keeping the overall atmosphere. Recent structural changes inside have been done to a very high standard and you won't be disappointed with a visit, even though the popular disco nights cannot yet return.”
“Great pub fab atmosphere 5 stars New landladies running the Globe now always a good atmosphere great Saturday night fun, bingo on a Thursday plus other entertainment. Dog / pet friendly with treats and fresh water always available.”
