“I was on the look out for a certain style engagement ring last year. I have worked in the Birmingham jewellery quarter for many years and was expecting to visit and look around there. By chan e on a day off I visited City Jewellers and spoke to a lovely member of staff called Chris. She asked what I had in mind and I explained the specific style I was hoping to find. I was offered a seat and Chris went to find something that matched my requirements. I never expected to find 'the one' that day. But I did. It was the first ring I saw. I just knew it was perfect. I had it resized and was told a few weeks, but it was available early. I asked if they would hold onto it for me due to my plans to propose being further away, and they did. Amazing service. And thank you.”

I looked online for a replacement but there was nothing even near to the design, but we were visiting Heart of the Country and I suggested that we popped into the Allen Brown Gallery, where we'd bought the original, not thinking that we'd find the same one all these years on. There was exactly the same ring in a cabinet but not the right size, they offered to order a new one but the new ones were a bright finish. R wanted matt, like his original. “Always use Arabella’s for buying and altering jewellery. They have an onsite jeweller so stuff doesn’t get sent away and prices are reasonable. Good friendly service but short opening hours can catch you out!”

“Me and my wife dropped in for a fry up, we had the light breakfast £12 each and a pot of tea between us. The staff were just lovely and very attentive, they made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was beautiful, especially the sausage (think it was from packington) probably one of the best I've had. We will endeavour to visit again. The decor inside was splendid, you could spend the whole day there.”
