“Good decor and atmosphere. Special mention must go to the house nachos at the start and the churros at the end, which were especially good! Came during 'happy hour' which turns out to be all Sunday, and had some very nice cocktails at 2 for £10.”

“Excellent friendly back street Birmingham local, warm and comfortable on a cold night with an excellent selection of real ales, both local and from further afield, including several dark and mild beers. A worthy CAMRA Good Beer Guide entry and only a few minutes walk from the City Centre and railway stations. Friendly staff and excellent bar snacks, would certainly return.”

“Dropped in on the 28th of October. I was served by Matthew. Very friendly approach and clearly knew the menu. I ordered a cider and butter chicken (the butter chicken was well cooked and tasted amazing) I was made to feel welcome. Couldn't recommend this place enough. All the best, Chris.”

“Very last minute booking at the Solihull branch. Nice welcome and it serves Shanice was great throughout. Not just taking our orders but generally making conversation and helping us to feel as though our custom mattered. Food was crazy delicious! Had the Chicken Palka which was divine. Will definitely come again if we are ever in the area”

“We came here to have a Valentines lunch. We were greeted warmly by staff. We hadn't booked ahead of time, but Bettie our server accommodated Us very quickly. I had the beers Battered Black Pudding, with salad and Sweet Chilli Sauce. Followed by the Black and Blue Burger, with homemade Slaw and chunky chips. My partner had Breaded Mushrooms with Garlic Mayo, followed by Lambs Liver and Bacon, with Peas and Pea shoots. The food was cooked beautifully and all the staff were friendly and chatty. We'll be coming back to try something else from the menu.”

“Came here yesterday after a lovely day walking our dogs. We only popped in for 1 drink but it was such a lovely atmosphere that we stayed for a couple more and ordered food too! Staff and customers really friendly and chatty. My daughters were especially fans of the pub dog who came out to the beer garden to meet my 2 dogs! Food was great. We had a veggie pizza and chips and a kids burger and chips. Good value and quick service. This pub is in a great spot on the canal and especially nice to be able to sit outside in the sunshine. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and we will definitely be returning!”

“We had Sunday lunch here for the first time in April 2024 and since then another 5 or 6 times. It has always been excellent, £11 or £12 for 2 different meats, roasts and mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, yorkshire pudding, stuffing and gravy. Served piping hot and cooked perfectly. The staff are very friendly and the tables in the conservatory are spotlessly clean. Normally have a couple of golden glow too. Cannot fault it at all. Thank you and we will be back.”

“Never thought to eat here but reviews were favourable so had a quick stop for dinner. It definitely had a drinkers vibe but the lounge was quieter. Anyway, seeing the price of the food (pie / chilli @£5.95!!) we did wonder what the quality would be like. I ordered boozy pie. The puff lid, if I'm being picky, could've been done crisper, but there was tons of tender meat, and the chips and the veg were cooked to perfection. Partners chilli was reported to be very tasty too. Enjoyed our meals. Six quid!!!!!!!”

“Went for a birthday celebration Pub was warm and inviting and food was delicious enjoyed by all. We had a mixed grill, the steak was cooked perfectly, fish and chips and salmon fishcakes. Nothing but compliments from us all and wonderful to see staff with Christmas jumpers on. Staff were polite and friendly and they couldn’t do enough to help.
