“Absolutely fantastic pub. Owners Sue and Joe are a breath of fresh air couldn’t ask for nicer people. All workers are very polite and Lisa is top notch , it’s always a barrel of laughs in there and I couldn’t think of anywhere better to go on a weekend for a good pint of John smiths. Ricky”

“Food was delicious. Me and partner ended up here after seeing amazing comments on Facebook. We thought why not give it a try. We had a hanging bbq chicken and 10oz sirloin steak both cooked to perfection, by the way love the English onion bhaji. We had biscoff cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding to finish. Service was excellent. I real nice surprise and will visit again and highly reccomend to others”

“Great local pub, however I'm no longer local. Went across at the weekend and it's lost none of its charm. A few bar staff on so easily served. The music was good provided by Steve along with a quiz, which if you wasn't doing the quiz you wouldn't have noticed as it wasn't imposing. The regulars were as friendly as ever. All in all a great visit, highly recommend. It isn't the Ritz, just a really good local pub.”

“A very warm welcome for a group of hikers wandering in late on a Sunday after finishing another segment of the Pennine Way. The roast was fantastic, our starters even better! (tandoori chicken I think? So goooood) Hardly had room for dessert, but theSticky Toffee Pudding really did top things off nicely. The drinks selection wasn't large, but what they had was great. But truly the biggest stand out from the evening was the friendly hosts!”

“An incredibly stylish room with a lot of decor details that create a cozy atmosphere. We were delighted from the first moment we entered the room. Very clean and tidy and has everything you need like shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, even hand cream. Amazing bathroom.”

“We were looking for a traditional English pub, with good food and friendly atmosphere. The Rose & Crown delivered on them all! They have a great selection of cask ales, which frequently rotate. The food menu is extensive and we all loved them. We’re going back, no question.”

“Currently staying the night here with my partner just to get away from home and it’s been lovely from the minute we arrived. Such a nice little country pub. All the staff are all so welcoming and attentive and especially have been during our meal, despite them being so busy. Our food was gorgeous and so reasonably priced. The room is lovely and comfortable and it’s so nice to not have to leave the building to have a nice stay. We’ve ended up booking breakfast for the morning too. We would definitely return and 100% recommend. Thank you for a lovely night guys.”
