“This stay was part of a road trip staying in similar ancient coaching inns. This one definitely had a more modern feel to it. The room was to a high standard and the bed was the comfiest on the trip. Breakfast was excellent. The bar is cosy and a nice place to pass a few hours. Car park was fun! But if you can get parked it is free. Great location. Staff were all great.”

“What a fantastic experience! Hot Rock in Bradford is more than just a meal — it’s a masterclass in meat, hosted by the charming and effortlessly passionate Sonny. From the moment we stepped through the door, he greeted us like old friends and immediately swept us up in his world of sizzling steaks and global culinary flair. Having worked in kitchens all over the world, Sonny brings a depth of experience that turns dinner into theatre. He personally guided us through the hot rock cooking method, with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you think, “Why haven’t I been cooking my steak on a lava slab all my life?” As someone who’s worked in the meat trade, I can say without hesitation — this man knows his stuff, and then some. We both went for the sirloin (by recommendation) — a bold choice, but one that paid off in juicy, buttery dividends. Sonny’s homemade infused butters (think garlic, herb, and something unidentifiably magical) gave us the tools to elevate the experience from “bit of fun” to “culinary revelation.” The novelty of cooking your own steak at the table was quickly eclipsed by the incredible flavours — tender, perfectly seasoned, and sizzling with satisfaction. What started as a quirky night out turned into one of the best meals we’ve had in ages. And just when we thought we couldn’t possibly be more impressed, out came that deconstructed cheesecake. Creamy, indulgent, and dangerously moreish — hands down, the best either of us has ever had. This isn’t just a hidden gem — it’s the kind of place you want to gatekeep, but feel morally obliged to shout about. So next time you want to impress someone special (or just treat yourself like royalty), head to Hot Rock. Go for the steak, stay for the cheesecake, and let Sonny turn your dinner into a work of art. “Tucked away in Sunny Bank Mills this pizza is heavenly. Din lighting supported by the natural light from the large old windows adds to the atmosphere, with the music volume perfectly sitting behind the background chatter. I had the garlic mushroom sauce wow, rich and creamy with a variety of mushrooms on a perfect garlic bread. The pizza was fantastic, wonderfully balanced sauce and tasty ingredients. Staff were cool and friendly, chill but attentive, and very welcoming. Loved it!!!!”

“Absolutely fantastic, I was heading somewhere else, but called in this place for a menu as I like pizzas , well !!! I've never had such a welcoming, such a happy chappy that made me feel at home straight away , he soon explained everything to me about the pizzas the showed me to the SPECIALS board , the food and the host was perfect so he convinced me to stay , and I must say I was very glad I did , without this young man at the front of this shop I would of left , all I can say he's a real credit to who ever owns this business, this chap called josh will go extremely far in the hospitality world ,, thank you”

“Lovely pub with lots of seating areas including cozy nooks and bright tables by the windows. Lots of beer options on tap, it was hard to choose! The bitter and stout were delicious. During the weekend there were parking spots outside the pub on the street.”

“Currently staying the night here with my partner just to get away from home and it’s been lovely from the minute we arrived. Such a nice little country pub. All the staff are all so welcoming and attentive and especially have been during our meal, despite them being so busy. Our food was gorgeous and so reasonably priced. The room is lovely and comfortable and it’s so nice to not have to leave the building to have a nice stay. We’ve ended up booking breakfast for the morning too. We would definitely return and 100% recommend. Thank you for a lovely night guys.”

“A group of 5 friends, we went this afternoon on a bottomless menu - £35 pp with mocktails and soft drinks included. Although there was a power cut when we arrived and waited half an hour in candlelight it was still a fab afternoon with plenty of food that was very tasty. Staff were really friendly and approachable and I am looking forward to going again!”

“A proper pub that hasn't changed in many many years and is all the better for it. No gimmicks or karaoke nights , simply a place for conversation and good beer. The outdoor seating is plentiful but on can be very busy on the odd hot sunny day that we get. Plus there is now a mobile handmade pizzeria at the side of tad beer garden. So that's good beer , seating & food covered.... nothing else required. Enjoy.”
