“What a fantastic experience! Hot Rock in Bradford is more than just a meal — it’s a masterclass in meat, hosted by the charming and effortlessly passionate Sonny. From the moment we stepped through the door, he greeted us like old friends and immediately swept us up in his world of sizzling steaks and global culinary flair. Having worked in kitchens all over the world, Sonny brings a depth of experience that turns dinner into theatre. He personally guided us through the hot rock cooking method, with the kind of enthusiasm that makes you think, “Why haven’t I been cooking my steak on a lava slab all my life?” As someone who’s worked in the meat trade, I can say without hesitation — this man knows his stuff, and then some. We both went for the sirloin (by recommendation) — a bold choice, but one that paid off in juicy, buttery dividends. Sonny’s homemade infused butters (think garlic, herb, and something unidentifiably magical) gave us the tools to elevate the experience from “bit of fun” to “culinary revelation.” The novelty of cooking your own steak at the table was quickly eclipsed by the incredible flavours — tender, perfectly seasoned, and sizzling with satisfaction. What started as a quirky night out turned into one of the best meals we’ve had in ages. And just when we thought we couldn’t possibly be more impressed, out came that deconstructed cheesecake. Creamy, indulgent, and dangerously moreish — hands down, the best either of us has ever had. This isn’t just a hidden gem — it’s the kind of place you want to gatekeep, but feel morally obliged to shout about. So next time you want to impress someone special (or just treat yourself like royalty), head to Hot Rock. Go for the steak, stay for the cheesecake, and let Sonny turn your dinner into a work of art. We’re fully converted.”
“Went on a Sunday afternoon, had a short wait for a table. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn’t wait too long for food. The food was nice and so was the cakes. Place was kept clean.”
“A truly delicious takeaway. Fresh salad, hot mixed donner in a tray with plenty to eat. Hot fresh chips and a Great margarita pizza too. This takeaway should be proud, they knock the competition in next week. Cheers Dudley Grove”

“Asda here at cemetery road have a 24 hours open supermarket. It's one of largest grocery store in Bradford with wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, electronics, and more, at competitive prices. All the sections are nicely arranged. There is automatic self check out and other billings counters. Store offers huge parking and there is Asda petrol station at entrance.”
“I ordered a birthday brownie stack last year, gluten free. It was amazing, Amanda even hand printed a birthday sign to place on top. I've been buying fudge from her stalls, and outlet at hirst lock Cafe ever since. Amazing product made by a lovely lady”
“Little gem of a tea room! Excellent selection of good priced food. Food excellent quality & portions good too. (3 adults visiting with a dog) Tried their bacon sandwich which was freshly made with plenty of bacon in a soft bap. Coffees made fresh, so we ended up staying long enough for a second round of coffees with cakes (gingerbread man, millionaires shortbread, cornflake tart…..all good value and would easily beat the competition for quality). We’ll certainly be back as there were other good valued meals advertised that we’d like to have tried too. Easily accessible location, and happy to accept dogs (they get as much attention as the humans!)”
“Such good coffee and breakfast! You get amazing quality and portions for the price. Can’t recommend highly enough”

“After having reflected on my previous review of this café, I would like to reconsider my opinion. Food is well prepared and made with love, convenient area to stop by for a warm drink especially when cold days are approaching and aesthetics are pleasing to the eye. Staff are lovely. Would recommend.”
“The service was outstanding! Catered for my mum who is vegan but also has black pepper allergy which meant they created her a bespoke meal. Food was very nice and whilst I’m not personally vegan I thoroughly enjoyed! Full of flavour, colourful and beautifully presented! Thank you for being so patient!”
“Class cafe around the Center of Ilkley, food is handmade from my knowledge, and drinks are always nice. Staff are friendly and is a nice atmosphere, however did wittiness a bit of a tiff between two groups of women trying to get me and my friends seats when we were trying to leave aha. But all round always been a great experience.”

“This place is just perfect. We went for a lovely but chilly walk and finished up here after wanting to visit for ages and we weren't disappointed. Even from the outside it's special, and when you walk in its just a lovely fuzzy welcoming feeling of awesomeness. No.54 has so much quirky character, but natural, not forced. We sat at a beautiful, old arty table by the window and ordered full breakfasts. Everything on the plate was cooked perfectly and using great quality produce. I want to go back already, and can Imagine it being the perfect venue for a little celebration. Service was warm and friendly, and there's plenty of food choices to suit everyone. Resisted the cakes this time but I don't think that would happen next time!!!”
“Very Friendly staff .Good place for meeting people and plenty of activities, also serves meals, coffees and cakes .”
“Nice food and atmosphere. A hidden gem!”
“Great spot for a spot of dinner. I had homemade cottage pie with onion and cheese mash topping, lashings of gravy, chips and peas! Absolutely massive portions. The cafe had a lively atmosphere with plenty of locals and tradesmen coming in for coffee and butties. The staff were brilliant; polite, courteous and very accommodating. If you're looking for great quality food at a reasonable price you can't go far wrong with Care @ 19!”
“Now the Engine Room & a totally awesome place to visit, serving breakfasts, brunch, lunch & much more beside. Prices are incredibly reasonable too, with seating indoors & outdoors.”
