“Great coffee, opens early, friendly people, and welcoming!! The owner and guy from Essex are the best barristas in Brighton! 10/10!”
“Super authentic little coffee bar on the seafront. You will probably q a little bit but it's worth the wait.”
“LOVE this coffee!!! Stumbled upon it being sold at my local cafe and now have a subscription to get these freshly roasted beans delivered home! Was even asked the other day by a friend what beans I used and proudly mentioned Skylark!”
“I've obviously drank a lot of coffee in my time, but the cappuccino I had from here this morning, was probably one of the best coffees I've ever had in my entire life. It's actually made me have a bit of an existential crisis about my previous coffee drinking habits. If you keep driving past this place, please do actually stop and go in! I actually have shameful amounts of regret that I haven't been able to stop here previously. So thank you very much for the coffee. It's not even an exaggeration, it was very very good! ❤️”
“First time here today. Had the big English breakfast. It was faultless. Excellent quality, good portions, not oily, hot toast and hot plates. Added tea ( proper pot) and coffee and black pudding. Service was perfect, helpful, friendly. Staff super friendly and kind to everyone. The menu choice is great, from breakfasts to cooked lunches, sandwiches, baguettes, jacket Spuds, etc. Could not fault this place, people or food.”
“I was passing by and went for a coffee. Lovely little place with great views to the Downs. Doubles up as a post office and paper shop - obviously a great asset to the local community. Friendly service and great coffee.”
“Favourite place for coffee. Love the baked goods too. Best cookies ever”
“The best place in Brighton & Hove for a coffee, snack, good vibes, catching up with friends, or even just a quiet read of a book. Also has excellent outdoor seating! I love Flat Out!!”
“Amazing coffee ….. so tasty. Visited with my sister this morning and on us saying it was my birthday later in the week the lady behind the bar insisted that I choose a free slice of cake to celebrate with. I needed to choose a gluten free option and they had plenty to choose from. I shared the lemon and pistachio cake with my sister. How immensely kind of them. It made my day and we will definitely be back when we are in the area again.”
“Fabulous independent Coffee shop. Fabulous coffee and breakfast Excellent service. Highly recommended.”
“Amazing service just such a friendly vibe. Lovely decor and one of the best mochas I’ve had! Will definitely be back ”
“This is an adorable little cafe that uses super fresh ingredients. The food was great, and the coffee was just as good. The owner is so kind, lovely, and welcoming — I had a really wonderful time here. Highly recommend if you're in the area!”
“Great coffee, nice cafe, friendly owners, great vegan doughnuts”
“Loved it. The coffee was great, really enjoyed it & ended up staying for two. Sandwiches were good. We would have liked hot food, which I think they do have but had run out of as it was early afternoon when we visited.”
“The staff were very welcoming, the coffee was very good that I needed another one. The cafe was cozy and had an inviting atmosphere, seating for lounging and a working space aswell, Overall a lovely place to go with FREE parking too”
“Such a gem, went with a group of bikers and had a great time. Service is fast and friendly and the food is just awesome. The brunch burger is the winner for me every time, a full English in a bun, heaven.”
“Lovely little cafe, fabulous selection of food! We had the pistachio cheesecake, which was absolutely spot on - delicately sweet, deliciously creamy, and just right! Looking forward to coming back to try all of their other goodies, both sweet and savoury. Highly recommended!”
“Nice old school cafe . Sadly no "Poached" eggs for me. Also food was a little over fried up for me inc the mushrooms. Jane who runs the cafe on her own does an excellent job.”
“Small but comfortable cafe. Its tucked away but id been meaning to try it for a long time. Good sized portions and bot unreasonable prices. The staff where polite and efficient. The sausages where tasty and bacon smoky! The coffee was good too. If I was to have one criticism I would say the tomato catchup watery and the bottle obviously been reused many times. Still it didn't detract so much from my meal which was lovely.”
“Lovely place to sit down and have a meal. The food portion is spot on. We came for Afghan rice dishes as they are delicious here,”
“A great coffee shop! I got a beautiful cappuccino with microfoam, made by medium dark roast coffee beans from the highlands of Rwanda. Extra bonus: the coffee production is a fair trade community project. Very friendly and sweet staff!”
“Iv been working in Brighton for 6 months and tried a few places to eat until i found the station cafe. Don't bother looking else where because you won't find a better cafe in Brighton. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed the banter .as for the food its 10/10 . All there meat is from local butchers and not cheep cash and carry stuff .hats off to all the staff and owners .keep up the good work and i will be definitely coming back next time im in Brighton”
“Huge breakfast and very reasonably priced. Staff were lovely and food arrived very quickly. Cash only which caught me out so had to drive to cashpoint after funding a rare parking space.”
“We had a very warm welcome and excellent service from very friendly and attentive staff. The cafe is a nice environment to be in and has had a fairly recent rearrangement inside - now with more seating. Now the important bit. Food and drink. Everything we had was great and made with care. Lovely coffees (we tried each of the different coffees, the Brazilian, and the Mexican blends. My wife, an Aussie, enjoyed her 'aussie' long black. I enjoyed the fruitier Mexican blend. I had the black forest pancakes and my wife had the mushrooms on toast. Both were served looking fab, and made with quality ingredients, and good portion sizes. All in all, a place I've been to in the past for single coffees turned out to be a really good shout for a proper breakfast. Made an Aussie feel like "home from home coffee shop with brunch". Highly recommended.”
“Visited the muse cafe as we were heading for our train and just wanted a quick bite, service was exceptional, he was so polite and seemed genuinely happy to be our waiter. We ordered 2 breakfasts with coffee and everything about them was delicious, nothing was burnt it all came out the same temperature and the presentation was perfect. An overall great experience and would highly recommend, I will be visiting again when I am back in the area.”
“I stopped in here for a takeaway and it was very cool. Bit of a hidden gem I didn't realise was here. Quite spacious and good to hang out for an hour with a friend or a laptop.”
“great food, very friendly and polite staff, lovely outside seating area!”
“Popped in for breakfast. Coffee very good and reasonably priced. Good breakfast, nicely cooked. Service is very good. Will be very happy to go back.”
“Came here for lunch, had a lovely bbq pulled pork panini and a biscoff milkshake. Was absolutely delicious, will definitely be coming back!”
“Great Cafe situated at the heart of the village. Coffee is great, food is delicious service is good. Staff are in the main friendly but not all which drops the single star, but not enough to make this an issue. All in all,a great find and we'll worth a visit.”
